Yes, a company called Wight City owned this arcade along with the pier. I think they retired some of the older machines from the pier into this site and some of the better machines were relocated to the pier... Although that being said I'm sure in parts alone these machines are worth quite a bit. Thanks for watching :D

Madness. That was my fav arcade when we used to go to the island every summer. What idiot just left the machines there? There are loads of retro collectors they could of sold them to, although I think the fruit machines are more difficult to flog. Did you see the Star Wars sit down cabinet still in there? They had it since the 80s, that's worth a pretty penny. All the monitors for the games cabinets are like gold dust now.
From what I can gather (from others) they moved the usable machines to the pier and what was left here were the cabinets they either couldn't repair or were not viable to repair... Its a shame as although probably not financially viable to repair, I'm sure there are plenty of enthusiasts who would've loved to purchase some of these as a project or for spares... Feels like a missed opportunity and sadly no Star Wars arcade.
My mum used to clean the flats above. So much of the IOW is abandoned. Hotels, a village, a prison, sea forts, a castle, paddle steamer, 12 foot shoe, holiday camp, Sandown...the area around the Library looks like Stalingrad.
0:15 Some nice climbing skills there. That place is awesome! Straight out of the 80's Wonder why they left so many credit cards there... Usually they are supposed to cut those after a number of days.

The Simpsons game was amazing. Quite hard to watch, we spent every summer here for years and stayed in the cottages down the road. First discovered Tekken here back in the days when the arcade was where new games existed!!

I have a local arcade place it’s called city pavilion and it has a bowling alley laser quest a diner a bar and they do weddings. The place isn’t abandoned so we are lucky. But I feel bad for this island’s abandoned arcade because all the machines are broken and ripped out so I feel bad for them. But I’m happy my local arcade is still open

Last year was 2011 or 2012 early 2012 before it was shut my old teacher from my old school gave me and my friend a photo print out of a thank you for this Journey 1980-2012 It’s probably still in that old school
Site was accessible up until approx 6 months ago. I do have some footage shot in there but had to cut my last visit short as I got chased off by the squatter who was living there (now since moved on). Last time I checked it was not accessible and it was locked up pretty tight... However this was some time ago and security is fairly flippant with sites like this... So who know, possibly in the future, its a great building! :D

Unfortunately it comes down to vandals ruining it for everyone one. I've sadly seen several sites senselessly smashed up by yobs. Because of this I'm holding back a lot of my other videos until the sites are either secure again or someone else goes public with the location... Its a shame though.

such a sick video, I went to my first abandoned place earlier this year which was harcourt sands but it's become so popular that everything has gone, we also went atherfield last week and some things have been taken but it's so interesting, would hope to go here aswell, looks terrifying though😂
Hi Grace, Harcourt is a great first abandoned location! Such a massive site, it is a shame that over the years people have taken to smashing up what is left, same with Atherfield. I still enjoy visiting both those sites, although I'd enjoy both these locations while you can as both are scheduled for re-development some-when in the near future. We're lucky here on the island as there is so much to see, although I'd always advise being careful, not to go alone and to respect the locations, making sure to leave them as you find them. Some were, the sweet Machine broke and I think was taken here ( there is a video of it breaking ) yet again not all Sandown pier’s machine went here, it was only the unpopular ones or they were unable to be repaired or sold off

And some of the fruit machines are incredibly rare, I don’t know why they didn’t bother to sell them on eBay for other peoples pleasure.

Yep. Could of sold all those on Ebay for spares and repairs. Collection only :) The claw machines people would love to purchase.

Btw, That particular Simpsons arcade cabinet shown in the video is unbelievably rare. It was specifically made for the United Kingdom only. It doesn't exist anywhere else in the world. Only a small amount were ever made in the 1990s.
I know of only maybe 3 to 4 surviving examples still in the world. Seeing this ultra rare Simpsons cabinet rotting away is so sad.
