      Get one! Or do you not live in USA? A couple companies made cheaper parts for the ar15 grip conversion..just a heads up.

    Such silliness. Just use subsonic cartridges and you have no use for a suppressor.

    • @kilooneeight
      @kilooneeight  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It would be pointless to use "subsonic" cartridges on this semi-auto AR7. subsonic 22LR ammo does not have enough power to cycle the bolt. Anyway, standard velocity CCi 22LR cartridges are essentially subsonic.

    • @timhofstetter5654
      @timhofstetter5654 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kilooneeight True on neither score. Subsonic cartridges have a heavier bullet, and so retain just as much energy to cycle the action. In addition, "standard velocity" CCIs are easily supersonic. Not by any huge distance, but they're certainly not subsonic; they still make that "sonic boom" that makes a shot loud.
      That's the whole point of a suppressor: slowing the bullet to just under Mach 1. Subsonics compensate with larger bullets, which carry roughly the same amount of total energy downrange after retaining roughly the same amount to cycle the action. They just send that big bullet downrange more slowly.

    • @kilooneeight
      @kilooneeight  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ok. But I'm telling you, 22LR subsonics do not (with emphasis) work on AR7 rifles. Sure it works for some semi-auto rifles and works best for bolt-actions but certainly not this one. Anyway, CCi standard velocity works well suppressed on this rifle as seen in the vid. ^_^

    • @kilooneeight
      @kilooneeight  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Tim Hofstetter, what's the speed of CCi Standard Velocity on a 16inch barrel of a semi-auto rifle? What's the speed of CCi Standard Velocity on its box? 1070fps. Mach 1 is 1125fps approximately. ^_^

      @@kilooneeight Maybe YOUR AR7 doesn't like them. Mine (until it was stolen) had no difficulty at all with them, and everyone else's AR7 is fine with them. I suspect that either your recoil spring is awfully soft for some reason... or that you got into a nasty bad batch of subsonic ammunition with standard-weight bullets and [nearly] no powder behind them. There are other subsonic cartridges out there for .22LR, and I encourage you to try them before you do anything else.
      Then... you'll get the benefit of downrange energy / power AND quiet shooting. If you just suppress ordinary .22LRs, you throw away a huge amount of your downrange energy / power.
