A news segment on the Sea Crest Clam Bar, which was located at 150 Bloomfield Ave, Newark NJ until 1991. Voted the #1 Seafood Restaurant in New Jersey in 1977.
I used to go here with my parents when I was a kid. Always a great time. I remember it always being a line outside. You knew you were going to get a good meal at a reasonable price. Great memories. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed! Unfortunately the restaurant was before my time but it was owned by my Great Grandfather, so I found this hidden away on an old family VHS. Cool to hear from those who still remember & enjoyed it!
I worked at the Sea Crest 1977-78. I clearly remember the waitresses and a main chef, an African-American woman who always had WBLS playing in the kitchen.
Used to dine at this great restaurant with my family around 1980 or so. Great memories and great food! The Italian section of Newark is all but a memory now. One great restaurant remains a few blocks away on Bloomfield Ave. - the legendary Belmont Tavern!
