This year, I did a complete renovation of the gardens surrounding my urban house in Portland, Maine. It has limited space, but I planted up the “hellstrip” between the street and sidewalk, as well as a few beds between the house and sidewalk. I’m totally new to gardening, so I used your channel to learn some basics and get some inspiration. I love seeing the pollinators and birds all around in a space that was barren only a few months ago. I’m super happy with how it turned out, and I’ve lost count of how many neighbors I’ve made friends with after they came to thank me for adding some beauty and life to the neighborhood. So it’s my turn to pay it forward and thank YOU for sharing your knowledge and passion and helping the rest us make our world a bit more beautiful. ❤

I was thinking the same thing! So thankful it was no sound except nature and Laura's footsteps on the gravel. Then when he came in with music it was not so loud (but I still prefer nature sounds instead).
I did not know such a simple thing as kale could make such a pretty arrangement in a flower bed! Looks great! And yes, that recipe sounds amazing! Please do share. 😊
I actually choked up watching such beauty take shape in this one. The orderliness soothed all the chaos. Hey Laura! Try red pansies. In Fall, I plant my garage planters with the red pansies, dusty miller & stacked pumpkins in the center. After Thanksgiving, I replace the pumpkins with lighted trees. It carries through fall, Christmas & winter. 😊

Omg these plantings look soooo good! Ornamental kale is starting to grow on me, especially after seeing it in the middle of the boxwoods. Just perfect! I also love the Norway spruces in the planters. What a good idea to put them in a planter and then put them out in the garden in the Springtime!

Watching you and Aaron develop this place over the years into what is today, has been magical. I Love the everything you did today. I just wanted to say that seeing the artichoke plants in the cold frames gave me a little bit of the giggles; I thought of the plant in the movie “Little Shop of Horrors”, saying “Feed me Seymore”. Looking a little wild coming out of the cold frames. Lol

You know what you need in front of the Hartley, in the middle of the 4 flower beds, a huge -ass, big old, WHITE Fountain, at least 4 or 5 levels. No plants in it!! Just standing there, bold-face,
all by itself. What a statement that would be!! It would match the white on the Hartley double doors, but still hold its own, while being a dazzling centerpiece for all the flowers in the 4 beds, without competing with the colors , during the 4 different seasons. That’s it, I finally figured it out!

I absolutely love the Christmas trees in Norway spruce they are just darling. And the ornamental kale is stunning.! asked for your recipe for dinner. I made that just the other day and it is absolutely delicious. I took some over to my sister and she said at the kitchen table even a cold it was so good it’s definitely going to be a repeat on my dinner plans for the fall. All those beautifu purple kale or cabbage just look gorgeous❤ I wish I could find some that were that big and gorgeous! I don't know if everybody knows this but you can take geraniums at The Fall season and strip off all the flowers, shake off all the dirt from The Roots and put them in a brown paper bag and put them in a cool place in your basement or a cool room. And then in the spring you put them in potting soil and outside and you've got the most beautiful geraniums ever twice the size🎉
