Everyone loved Laverne & Shirley. Back in the day, after watching the show we all talked about the jokes in our workplace, the next day, old school style. They really were very entertaining. Lots of laughs. It was was sad to hear of Penny Marshall's passing. She was talented in so many ways. She had an amazing life. I hope her brother Gary was there to greet her. In fact, "L&S" helped make ABC become the dominant prime time network during that era and was appointment television for many viewers on Tuesday nights (can you hear Ernie Anderson do those memorable promos in your mind?).
Tuesdays were indeed dominant in the 70's and 80's on ABC. From my generation, this was their best lineup: 8p: Happy Days, 8:30p: Laverne and Shirley; 9p: Three's Company; 9:30p: Too Close For Comfort and ending with Hart to Hart at 10p. R.I.P to a TV comedic icon. You will be missed.

Elvis dinkel Dinkel, Yes, I'm a major fan. I've collected the Laverne and Shirley dvd's, and have been googling info and interviews of Penny and Cindy. I knew that she had been staying in bed alot, as of late, and struggling with the grief of losing her brother Garry, but, I didn't know, for sure, that her health was so bad. I worried, when I heard Cindy talking about Penny, staying in her bed, most of the time, but, Cindy was vague on the details. I struggle with watching the shows of certain actors, after they have passed, because the enjoyment is overshadowed by grief. :(
