Literally shouted at the tv when he turned up "no way?!!!" Was delighted it was BK. It's times like this that as someone who is heavily invested in the wider lore, it is wonderfully rewarding. We get little nods in the books or in games (Governor's Adelhardts mention in BF2 was joyous) but this is something else and special. Vi Moradi, Cobb Vanth and now BK - glorious!
What I love about this current Star Wars canon is that it really feels more interconnected. The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch lets us see familiar characters in different eras and see what they do in their lives. I always see continuity like these as a rabbit hole that you just can’t help but fall into and I love it.
Same, I always preferred legends to canon also because it was way more interconnected, especially in the first 5 years of canon the connections between stories were really few. It's great to finally see canon start linking stories togheter too
I like the idea that certain notable characters will join Boba’s court by the end of the season. Would love to see Kersantan be Boba’s main bounty Hunter or the Mayor’s ambassador be Boba’s Bib Fortuna
As someone who stopped engaging in the wider lore a couple years ago, it was lovely to still catch a character I remember from when I used to be obsessed with all the lore. Makes me miss all the deep dives I used to go on.
I haven't read the comics but I knew who Black Krrsantan was and his general history as a bounty hunter for Jabba so when he appeared in Book of Boba, I gasped and my jaw dropped. I couldn't believe it. It made sense but it caught me completely by surprise. A character from the comics coming to live action and the attention to detail on his appearance was fantastic! The shoulder pads and armor were spot on and you can even see a hint of a scar over his eye where it should be if you look close enough. It's not as prominant as the comics but I can get that seeing as it'd be over 25 years since he got it, it's still amazing that it's there. I also wasn't aware that it was Obi-Wan who gave Krrsantan that scar, that bit had escaped me lol. I think he's a great adversary for Boba, given their history as Jabba's two best bounty hunters. Even if it isn't addressed in the show, something I noticed and really liked was that when they reveal Krrsantan, Boba looks at him intently for a good few moments as if he recognizes him, which he should and at least that's how I interpeted it. It probably wasn't intentional but I still like that it can be seen that way. Likewise, Krrsantan glares at Boba for a few seconds before joining his Hutt benefactors in leaving. That subtle homage to the comics intentional or not is an incredible detail and it only added to an already great scene between Boba and his rivals. I can't wait to see Black Krrsantan throw down in the show
It seemed like to me Boba recognized BK in the show, why else would he say he wasn't a sleeping trandoshan guard, which was a dig at BK since Fett knows the Wookie's past given their history in the comics.
Boba referred to him as a gladiator as well, there's no question he knows the history. I just don't know how much will be directly addressed in the show.
I've read a few of the canon comics, only a few because I find them incredibly hard to get into (comics in general, I have nothing against canon). I do love it when stuff like this happens though.
Somebody's arms had better get pulled out of their sockets. I wonder if we might get a flashback about Fett and Krrsantan's history together. In the Darth Vader comic, Fett is incredibly brutal and one of the things I'm hoping from the Book of Boba Fett is that we get to see how Fett goes from brutal to ruling with respect -- but we haven't really seen him be brutal yet.
Would love to see more pre-sarlacc flashback for Boba. But I guess the show will put much more emphasis on his time on Tatooine living with tuskens, since it's a crucial time that really shapes the present Boba.
Good luck with that. THIS Boba Fett dances in the sand and gets his butt kicked by Bo Katan's sidekick. It doesn't even seem like Boba Fett to me. Black Krrstantan will probably be made into a good guy too.
It’s so exciting to see him pop up, while I’ve only read a handful of the comic books he in, I still instantly recognised him! Makes me excited to see what other comic/animated characters that will make the jump, I think a Hondo, Aphra or an Embo are almost sure bets to pop up down the line!
I will admit that up till Book, I never heard of BK. Upon learning who he was and doing my research, I so want more of him and be given the full treatment: I want to buy the comics he’s in. I want to seem him made into a Black Series figure. I want to see cosplays of him. I want to see him pop up in animation. I want to see him appear in the Kenobi series. As Alex said in his initial review, this was fantastically handled in the way that you don’t need to be in the know to fully appreciate him, but it is all the sweeter if you are. It expands general awareness of characters and concepts beyond the limited mediums since, lets face it, comics are not the most glamorous and easily digestible medium out there.

This was an epic live action entrance. That last look he gave Fett was incredible. I love the fact that any character in the Star Wars comic and old canon universe can just pop up at anytime, keeps me glued beyond the main characters :)

as with the child/warrior/leader parallels, i think he's also proving himself at each stage after usurping the title of crime lord. he had to learn how things are run and defend himself against attack, just like with the tuskans. next he'll have to prove himself a warrior again and defeat a physical threat. maybe this will be black krrsantan?

His appearance had me in awe like when fans first got to meet boba Fett in the empire strikes back . Chewie has been my favorite protagonist, black krrsAntan is badass and I’m excited to see his role and hope him and boba don’t have to try to kill each other again
I’m not a Sequel hater by any means, though I recognize that there were a lot of missed opportunities. That said, the Star Wars tv shows have been much better than the ST films in my mind because the people who make them actually really read the books and comics. I’m not convinced JJ Abrams has done anything other than watch the movies and it shows.

They could have cut the casino side plot and spent more time exploring Holdo and Poe and it would have worked better IMO.
Fun Fact: The actor for Black Krrsantan happens to be Corey Jones; a Black American actor whose first film role was portraying multiple Predators in the movie Predators (2010). He was primarily the Tracker Predator. But he also doubled for Brian Steele in some scenes as the Berserker Predator and the Falconer Predator, although he was not credited for the roles that doubled for. He's also played in other movies and other suit performances, but he's essentially a mystery actor.

Black Krrsantan reminds me a bit of Hanharr from the Old Republic era, being a ruthless and viscous Wookie Bounty Hunter. His fur color is also the same as Chuundar, another antagonistic Wookie from the Old Republic era.
BK is basically a giant walking easter egg, from the scar on his face to the claws in his paws, he's fun for newcomers and a delight to the die hards with comic books like myself.
The hutts looked legit too me. Noting will top the ROTJ Jabba but I don’t think they’re going to invest that time and money into two live action Hutts that are raised above ground. Still 100x better than the abomination that is Jabba in A New Hope. What was Lucas thinking? These hutts are a good combo of ROTJ Jabba and Jabba and that other Hutt in TPM.
I wonder if Black K was just fan service to get people excited. He will make a couple appearances, but not play a major role. The reason I think that is because the actor playing him is a special effects make up artist. He does not have any on screen credits on his résumé. I hope I’m wrong, but he may have gotten the part because he’s friends with someone and fits the suit.

My guess is that Black Krrsantan will turn on the Hutts. It's too obvious for him not to. He's all about the credits. He'll back whomever will pay him the most and I don't think he likes the Hutts at all.

Firstly, I think you were too focused on the recap of Black Krrsanran's life & simplified the finer details... ●The wookiee wasn't infected via the Queen deliberately. It was a last resort to counter her forces as certain species weren't malleable with the parasite(s), hence his heightened aggression! ●Surprised you didn't mention him aiding Aphra during the "Rebel Superweapon" arc. Lastly, your speculation of his involvement in TBOBF was mostly on point. A tad dejected that the ending of the Rur crystal arc was retconned, though.

I wonder if Black K was just fan service to get people excited. He will make a couple appearances, but not play a major role. The reason I think that is because the actor playing him is a special effects make up artist. He does not have any on screen credits on his résumé. I hope I’m wrong, but he may have gotten the part because he’s friends with someone and fits the suit.
oh ive been a fan for years now since the comics ive seen him inhe looks freakkin staticool and freakkin ace and a true badrear this show si getting better and better by the freakkin minute.
My guess is that Black Krrsantan will turn on the Hutts. It's too obvious for him not to. He's all about the credits. He'll back whomever will pay him the most and I don't think he likes the Hutts at all.

●The wookiee wasn't infected via the Queen deliberately. It was a last resort to counter her forces as certain species weren't malleable with the parasite(s), hence his heightened aggression!
●Surprised you didn't mention him aiding Aphra during the "Rebel Superweapon" arc.
Lastly, your speculation of his involvement in TBOBF was mostly on point. A tad dejected that the ending of the Rur crystal arc was retconned, though.
