I have tried to make the first one you showed. It is really a game changer. What did you use for the stainless steel in the new one?
Many thanks for your comments. If I can get around to it I will make a video of the charger and how I made it. The wire I used was from a piece of jewellery that my wife had. It was just a choker necklace, a circle of wire that had some trinkets hanging from it. I assume it's Stainless steel because it's quite hard whereas something with silver in it would be quite soft. I tried to get some from eBay but it was only available in large lengths. It is 1.46mm / 0.058 inches diameter. It's good and doesn't rust.
