The man last wishes was to protect his daughter from the cold by wishing he can comfort her from the severe cold weather. The strong urge was great to spark a fruit to existence though her and the father died.☹️ jacket jacket fruit might not be strong but have a good back story for it.

Because each time the Fruits "carry" 1 more Soul.

So if there's been 2 or 3 or 10 people that might've Awakened their respective Fruits in the past, it only makes sense that not only the previous user's will (and imagination) gets carried on the current user, instead they carry the will of all the previous users.

But the fruits have a will of their own, atleast that's what vegapunk said, like luffy's fruit is about freedom, blackbeard's fruit is about darkness etc, the fruit goes to someone who is the most similar to what the fruit wills so a person who wants to be the freest gets gomu gomu no mi, the person who has the most darkness inside gets dark dark fruit. The gorosei said that the fruit strips away the users agency but i think it's not like that, the will of the user decides whether the fruit will be powerful or not, if the user's ideology aligns with the fruit, it will awaken, that's why most fruits don't awaken at all
i feel like the powers of devil fruits are manipulations of light. I think this gets hinted at on egghead where we see the holograms only able to be physically interacted with using black gloves akin to haki interacting with devil fruit users. nika being the god of the sun being able to do seemingly create whatever is more evidence for this point. on top of this blackbeards darkness powers nullifys devil fruit powers, giving more hints that they are some kind of light. i also see devil fruits as a creativity power scaling, the more creative the user the stronger they are. rayley was impressed with luffys gear 4 idea and its why brook is so strong with devil fruit powers only

With the symbolism of an Adam and an Eve tree(s), I could see the final war _starting_ with the Adam tree falling after an attack by the WG on Elbaf and _ending_ with the Eve tree falling after either the destruction of the Grand Line and/or the exodus of the Fishman to the surface world.

If the Adam Tree is on Elbaf then Sunny is about to go back to its roots in the next arc, so to speak. Adam Wood could be an important part of the arc. I think Robin warns the Giants of Vegapunks message, leading to Franky and the Giants working together to make a bunch of huge Adam Wood ships in preparation for the rising sea levels.

A very interesting thing one can observe when reading through One Piece is the emergence of trees as a story element during the first half of the grand line (Skypea, Ohara, Water 7 [Adam-tree] Sabaody, Fish-Man Island) and obviously this continued in the second half as well (Wano, Elbaf).
So Oda has been building a long time towards trees as an important factor in the history of the planet in One Piece
one explanation is that devil fruits are naturally occuring. Or, rather that as long dreams and will exist devil fruits also will. Could be related to haki and perhaps the accumulated haki or willpower of humanity creates devil fruits.
The inversion of masculine and feminine is something oda would do considering the esoteric influences often rearing its head in his manga

I think 100%, Devil fruits are made with the souls of people who die. And from what we know, it sounds like the real JoyBoy also had the fruit, and had awakened it; It sounds like, he was the first one to eat the fruit. So, my guess is, that Nika died, and his soul was consumed by the tree, and the "Gum-Gum" or Hito-Hito no mi Mythical Nika variant was created. I also think Nika came from the moon.

Just throwing this out there as well. If you have the Adam and Eve trees the fact that the 3rd great tree we know of is the Tree of Knowledge speaks volumes using the Genesis myth. Eve ate the forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge after being forbidden to do so by God and tempted by the Devil. Kinda might stand to reason that the fruits are probably linked into somehow combining the eve tree with the tree of knowledge. My guess would be that Eve was a cutting taken and replanted from the Adam tree and then fertilized with pollen from the Knowledge tree which caused it to produce fruits. The fruits of the devil with all that temptation.

Given the "Adam & Eve" titular association presented, and though what I have been postulating may only be partially related, but ever since Nefertari Cobra confronted Imu with the history of "Lily" (which Imu seemed to respond to in an interestingly quizzical way), I've been chewing on the thought of "Lily" being the shortened name for "Lilith"; in Eden, Adam had a partner before Eve was brought forth from his own flesh. Her name was in fact Lilith (she is not often mentioned in many of the various versions of the Holy Bible as it has been passed down and interpreted in many branching ways), she was born from Clay just as Adam had been however she, for lack of a better phrase, didn't want to be confined to the 'Garden' with Adam and went on to forsake all that had been bestowed to her as she basically skipped town, thus causing the pretense for 'God' to create Eve from a piece of Adam. It would be interesting if something like this played out with Nefertari Lily, Imu, and the 'garden' in which Imu appears to be most at home in. Yet, it may also complicate the storyline far too much for a Shonen, by introducing anything beyond what the common worldview regarding the Story of Adam & Eve, the Garden, the Forbidden (devil)Fruit of Knowledge, and the Serpent. (some theologians believe the Serpent was Lilith herself taking the snake form and acting as the embittered seducer of Eve). And that's quite a theory... a CONFUSING THEORY!

I think you’re onto something with this theory to kind of offer up a point that could explain some of your questions at the end I think it’s worth looking into the marineford arc. Blackbeard cover whitebeards body up and somehow managing to steal his power becomes easy to explain if there are people’s souls and inherited will in said Fruits - maybe Blackbeard figured out a way to steal the soul of somebody before their soul would be sent to the sun. He could’ve used a number of way to do this with my two theories that come to mind being through cannibalism (maybe of the heart) or somehow through his devil fruit.
Interesting idea, it makes more sense that Imu and 5 elder stars dont actually have devil fruits but tried to replicate it by looking into dark magic and real devils

If vegapunk could create synthetic versions of the fruit, but not perfect it - They are likely some manifestation of a different tree besides Adam and Eve - Or when the first fruit from the tree of knowledge was eaten the devil fruits were spread
It could be possible that no one actually made the fruits and enough people dreamed hard enough for the same or similar thing and they just showed up one day. Also I kind of like the idea that the Ancient Kingdom named them Devil Fruit in opposition to the 20 kings who believed themselves gods.

Mabey we can take the name of the devil fruit literally, like mabey we can combine the will of people who are dying, fighting the devil who wants to kill them, and when they win against death, beat all odds, or something like that, their will (mabey even some form of conquers haki) turns the nearest fruit into the devil fruit with the same ability as the user's deepest desire.
Mabey even the soul of the devil or demon they beat (simuilar to what zoro expirianced at onigashima) is turned into the devil fruit.

Since Vegapunk wanted to remove Kuma's memory by using his devil fruit/bubble. I really think maybe the bubbles from the mangrove tree had to be involved or is the source from which DF's grow. Maybe the mangrove trees are actually capable of trapping the 21 grams of soul/memory then released as bubbles with the fruit inside fly 3 days without bursting like Kuma bubbles do and left all across the world. If the soul made the bubbles stronger they could even fly up to sky islands. (That sentence made me think of Stronger the Horse, on his back DOC Q and he carried apples) lol👀

I don't usually comment in videos. But I wanted to point out something rather than make a theory. Elbaf seems to have inspiration from Norse mythos and there are two important trees in Norse Mythology. The first and obvious one is Yggdrassil, also known as the World Tree. It's funny because one of the myths regarding Yggdrassil is that Odin, the Allfather or the king of the gods, sacrificed one of his eyes in exchange for knowledge of the runes that the Vikings were known to use in their writings and divination as well. Another important tree is the one that gave the gods their immortality. This was a tree which gave up golden apples and the gods ate those apples and became immortal. Though they can still be killed by each other. They are just immortal in that they can live forever. Idk, I just thought that considering Elbaf it would make sense to take inspiration from either of those trees, unfortunately I am not fully up to date with One Piece to really do some theory.
The devil fruits are the Old Kingdom itself, Gods. Due to an inner fight, the 5 elders joined the humans and created a cataclysm akin to the bible one (more exactly, the mesopotamian). That is, a flood. Water fell from the sky that trapped Gods, and that is why the sea is their bane.
Though, calling them gods is a bit of a stretch, since there are two major inspirations for devil fruits: kami and lwa, in specific shinbutsu kami and probably haitian voodoo. It's not like this is taken out of nowhere, Joyboy is an actual figure from Caribbean Voodoo myths and Nerona Imu is a play on ネロナイム->神仏->shinbutsu.
Now, the actual explanation: both these mythologies have two things in common, first being semi-politeistic (voodoo has bondye as a figure similar to the christian god and lwa, shinbutsu has the buddha and the kami), and these "gods" who represent basically anything. The most important part on the voodoo mythology is that part of the rituals consists of these Lwa "entering" the body of the believer (called "caballo", or horse) and participating in the festivities, a "possession" similar to the devil fruits.
It's hard to explain in youtube comments lol. As Jinbe says in his fight against Who's Who, "don't make half-assed comments about someone else's culture if you dont know", so yeah
There is also one thing that is important: Haki. To most, Haki and Devil Fruits are two separate magic systems, but if you start from the basis that devil fruits are divinities, it might be the case that they are not.
Haki is the deification of humanity. It's not that people are strong because they have Haki, but instead people gain Haki once others believe they are strong. Armament Haki users have great strength, Conqueror Haki users are great leaders. Think when Usopp actually gains Haki: only when he is considered a God by the entire island, he gains super-human sight through their belief.
This would even explain the Hito-Hito fruits: i think that there is no need to explain Buddha, in Buddhist myth he was a human who acquired divinity. Nika was probably the same, though that is harder to prove (probably, he was a semigod).
That also explains why Haki can touch Logias: only those who reach the realm of the gods can touch gods themselves.
Of course, Haki is only partial deification, that is why the sea doesn't actually affect Haki users

What if imu is the opposite of luffy and he has a mythical devil fruit that controls people down to their lifespan . And the reason why haki matters so much is because haki is the only thing that can stop you from being controlled.
Perhaps the devil fruit powers come from the people sacrificed by the ancient kingdom. The shandorians held the rituals to duplicate the process but it wasnt perfect

Before Marijua they all lived on God Valley. Where the Devil fruits originated. Where some of the BEST fruits came from, for Kaido and big mom. The devil fruits were meant for the Celestrial dragon warriors. Not for the devil old abroad. My guess is the Rocks pirates attacked the island for the tree. And that the One piece is on the lost island that once was God Valley.

Maybe there is a DF similar to Big Mos's DF but an upper rank as Magu Magu no mi is the advanced version of Mera Mera no Mi. Big Mom can put her pieces of her soul into everything, maybe someone in the past did the same with devil fruits. If you combine Big Mom's DF with Kuma's DF can create devil fruits.

The lumber from the Adam tree that Franky purchased was NOT freshly chopped from Elbaf. A former member of the Roger Pirates sold the leftover lumber from the Oro Jackson directly to Franky because he recognized him as Tom's disciple. All the information Franky knew came from the Roger Pirates, or it's possible that Tom passed the information to him.

You have to remember that water 7 is the world's most famous shipmaking island, if you gotta sell lumber, its literally the best place to fetch a great price, so its not farfecthed that shady people will go their to sell the wood. I think to tie everything you said with a perfect knot you should think about the fact that humans are nutrients for trees. If they are buried beneath the roots of Adam tree, their nutrients will be absorbed by the roots and in this case probably their will too, thus manifesting the deceased's Will into a new devil fruit. You can see this in a much similar way in Cameron's Avatar movies where they bury the dead to give back to Eywa (Mother Nature), nothing is lost just transformed.
