I just started a book club with a friend! Idk if it can be called a "club" technically bc its just us but we call it that anyways lol. We started reading together last month, we've blown through like 4 books already! We have lunch meetings sometimes (we work together) so we can eat and chat about what we read. Its soo much fun having someone to talk about it with and it definitely makes me want to read more! I saw a comment mention the libby app, I love it! It's free and you can have library cards in different states so if the wait is too long in one library, you can see what other libraries have copies available sooner.
“Melting pot” as an insult is hilarious to me 😂 That said, I’m so sorry that happened to you, Alison! 💔 What a deeply miserable and cruel person. Your friend group IS a beautiful melting pot, and you’re so much more interesting and unique for it! Many hugs to you. Thanks for another wonderful video.

Emily Wilde’s encyclopaedia of Faeries would be a great book club book! A study in drowning is a 1 off (if I remember correctly) that gives similar dark academia vibes and has a little fae lore.

Depending on where you live there is usually a variety of books available that you can borrow. I tried Kindle Unlimited for a bit but I didn’t feel like the selection they carried was going to be stuff I would like. I think salmon can be really tasty sometimes and not so good other times- it really depends on how fresh the fish is/ how it’s cooked. I’ve had some really dry, overcooked, fishy salmon that tasted terrible. But when I can get it fresh from a seafood market, and cook it with ginger and soy sauce it comes out really tasty and moist and not fishy at all :)
