    Brian you’re the peoples champ for posting these videos and helping us contractors out. I’ve got a 650 as well and love it! It’s having some issues holding pressure above 3000 psi I hear a small whistling sound near the prime valve / fixed fluid hose but I never have the pressure that high normally so OK for now. Was told by graco to do a hot water laundry detergent flush of the system so will see. Keep on rocking man !

      When you hear the sound, pull your prime tube out and see if it is leaking.

    I like Titan more if i see the inside of the pump section from Graco. The Titan Block with manifoldfilter is great.

    Successfully repacked my machine that wasn’t priming thanks to your great tutorial. Sleeve was good, but noticed paint inside of the packings this a sign that seals are failing right? The black plastic snap on cap that goes on top of the piston locking nut was broken, maybe that caused paint to leak into packings. Where can we send donations to ? I’m so grateful for your help !

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The black seal prevents the throat seal fluid from leaking out during transport.
      Paint will naturally form between the packings over time. The build up will increase as they wear.
      You can use the "thanks" button under the video for donations.
      I am very glad the video was helpful.

    I have a 650 that requires a new "Cylinder Sleave" do you have a place I can easily buy one? or know what size I need?
    I've had to replace the cylinder sleave twice now in the last year.

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The sleeve on the 650 seems to wear out around 500 gallons. You can purchase the sleeve from any certified service center or at a Sherwin Williams

  • @swordfish1120

    Good video. Do you know of an effective substitute for Graco TSL that you could recommend? I have a Graco 490 PC II Pro and given the throat seal is to be used daily, and the cost of TSL is not cheap, I'd like to use something more economical.

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You dont have to use TSL daily. Once you have filled the packing nut, the TSL will stay for several weeks as long as the machine has not been laid side ways for the TSL to leak out. As far as a less expensive alternative, Sherwin William's has a product that is considerably cheaper.

    Hi Brian, great video. I have the Graco 650 bought last year, recently it just keep losing pressure when I spray , the machine keep pumping but no pressure, sometimes is good sometimes is not, do I have to repack the pump? Any suggestions? And What kind of kit I need to buy ? Thanks a lot.

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a good chance you need a repack. The part number for the kit is 18B260. Be sure to check the sleeve. These machines are great but I have seen the sleeves wear quicker than I think they should. Make sure the inside is smooth, not grooves, rings or pits. The sleeve part number is 19Y269, just in case you need that as well

    Have you heard good or bad things about tritech sprayers am looking for a good sprayer for all types of paints blockfiller .dryfall. . Was thinking about either a tritech 8 or 9 or a 695 graco .. what would your thoughts

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tri tech, Graco and Titan are all very similar. They all have their advantages and disadvantages like any other items.
      You couldn't go wrong with either manufacturer as long as you buy the right size machine. In the Titan, the 840 would take care of the products you mentioned.

    Quick question Brian, when tightening the packing nut does it always have to go down enough to make the oring contact the cylinder? Asking because repacking a 1095 I had to go well above the 100 in-lb recommended in the manual to bring the oring down enough to be touching the 2 parts. In other words….does the o-ring have to be pressed between the 2 contact points regardless of the torque needed?
    Thanks in advance

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. It just needs to be tightened. It does not have to touch the cylinder and the packing nut

    • @DownloaderVideo
      @DownloaderVideo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Brian_the_repair_guy Thanks, I took it all the way until it was contacting the bottom…not squished out just tight between the 2 surfaces. Any harm done by this? should I back it off?
      Thanks again

    Hello Brian, I have a Graco 5900, but The gas engine works perfectly, but when I turn on the control box to start sucking paint, it shuts off.
    What could be the problem?

      If the machine is running, but not building pressure check your prime hose to make sure that the prime valve is not leaking back into the bucket. If that is good, I would check the packings and sleeve. I see a lot of 650 machines that need repack at about 500 gallons with a new sleeve. Keep me informed please
