Addicted to this song. I got this game this past weekend along with Disgaea D2 and it's really fun. I've also had Disgaea 2 for a few years. I really enjoy the games, the openings, and the anime.
Raspberyl is so cute; I over-leveled the shit out of her, lol. I really liked her book she used in her attack/spellcast animations, it was very necronomicon-like.
the netherworld is reversed from the Human world and celestia. Bad is considered good. Therefor students are EXPECTED to skip class and never study. Thus as Mao has never attened class even once before the story starts...

Still one of the best songs that I have ever listened to. I started with the first game, but Disgaea 3 definitely has my favorite opening by far! I still can not decide which game in the series, the first one is amazing, Disgaea D2 made me cry through half the story (alotta people forget that this one exists), Disgaea 2 is the one Im currently playing, Disgaea 3 was just so damn fun, Disgaea 4 has my favorite protagonist and soundtrack, and Disgaea 5 has Christo and Red Magnus (my gay ass has a crush on those two), Disgaea 6 I skipped so far, and Disgaea 7 is amazing so far (Im halfway through the story)
If they did less of a typical montage of things to expect throughout the game, and just showed the students singing and dancing around the academy, I could have easily seen this becoming my favorite RPG opening.

This opening is so tongue in cheek which is a signature for the series being that it's brim with satire and the part when they dance, got me in stitches the first time I saw it. Really like this opening and nostalgic memories playing this game back in the days, its a trip down memory lane.

She can also Magichange meaning that she is indeed a monster class, thou she goes to a sword instead of a spear, but that is probably only to combo with what most people is likely to use for Mao.
No joke, it felt like that show was heavily influenced by Disgaea, to the point where you could swap certain characters and you'd hardly tell the difference.
To be honest, I think Disgaea 3 has the most charming characters of them all (though I have yet to play 4, so there's that), but I feel the plot is kind of weak, especially in the first two or three chapters. Although the last two chapters makes up for it by being all kinds of awesome. I still love the game.
Fine, just so the masses can be appeased. I played 4 and 5. They were pretty good. I still think I like 3’s cast the most. In 4 the star of the show is Valv, he’s just that right blend of confident and capable yet wacky and it’s funny to see a demon utilize the power of trust and friendship basically off the bat and his entourage play well off each other (though Fenrich’s and Fuuka’s gimmicks can get a bit played out at times). The plot however meant almost nothing to me since it felt really straightforward. There wasn’t any surprise twist or anything, you could pretty much call everything until the end. Valv having the fucking stones to challenge God to his goddamn face was great though. Playing 5 felt like playing an anime in all the best and worst ways. The cast was fine and the plot was okay I guess but I feel like they lacked that certain “something” that all the rest of the games have. Maybe it’s because everything and everyone was taking themselves too seriously? I don’t know but it’s not like I dislike it. The Overload music override was always super hype though and Killia flash stepping everywhere was always cool as fuck. Eventually I’ll get around to playing D2.
I very strongly recommend you take every measure to obtain and play Disgaea 4. Nippon Ichi really stepped up their game with A Promise Unforgotten, blowing every previous game sky high. Yes, it really is that much better. Oh and if you don't know, Disgaea D2 came out in North America (assuming that's where you live) on October 8th, 2013. They significantly improved upon Disgaea 4's gameplay. I feel that 4 had the best story, but then, that story's pretty hard to beat, though D2 came close.

This game along with the 4th are my favorites of the series. Mao was my favorite until Valvatorez came along, also love Raspberyl and Sapphire. The game also had some great classes that we'll see again in Disgaea 7 and I'm all here for it. Mostly what solds the game to me was that intro. Probably the best alongside the one of the 4th. ^^

Charming. Just charming. Thats what most kids anime these days just seem to lack while Disgaea, being a series aimed at the youth, seems to keep. The series is so goofy that it makes kids laugh while also being silly enough to retain being charming.
There are still charming anime being made today. Persona 4 Golden the Animation, Fairy Tail, Magi, and One Piece are a few recent or ongoing shows that I would consider charming.
Well I was talking specifically about family anime. Disgaea is, more or less, a game aimed at Japanese school children. Compare the old Pokemon anime to the new Pokemon anime. All the stuff you're talking about is shounen.

i know the actual anime did a decent job on the storyline with some medium changes but since this has shorter episodes i could imagine it having a seasoon for it and then it would ivolve the stuff that happens in the game and i could imagine the part that mao goes into his beserk stage and his hero power mode
When I first saw Raspberyl I thought that she was better than Mao as a Honor Student even though she kind of is as a Delinquent. I thought her motives to be a Delinquent due to no one couldn't match her as a Honor Student until Mao showed up but it was the fact that she wanted to do something different.

I know! If disgaea 3 comes to steam, this is one opening I am not going to skip! I always skipped 2's and 4's as they were ok, but not great or memorable. 5's had a good opening song, though it showed no pictures on my laptop, just a blank screen.
I don't know if it's the BEST op (seriously, it ties between the first and the second for me) but it sure as hell the funniest ! XD
