I’d still be terrified to stick my arm in there. Of course I WOULD stick my arm in there because it’s a fully functional mech suit and that’s AWESOME, but it would still be terrifying 😂
The thing with 40k power armor is that the pilot is more technologically advanced than the armor itself. Imagine a worlds strongest man competitor like Brian Shaw but with 2 hearts, 3 lungs and another 15+ organs and augmentations. It can’t be understated how op 40k space marines really are. Not to mention the extra layer of plot armor if they’re a named character!
@@Soupfromchina because of the *knock knock knock* i just think of him screaming his lungs out and then fixing his posture and daintily knocking on the wall
@irmiwolf to my understanding it is a prototype, the shell could be machined depeleted uranium in a later iteration and anyway they are trying to showcase the augmentation of user strength, not resistance
Not only are they building a base for future power armors, but they could theoretically use these systems to develop the Spartan armor from Halo, and Iron Man's many armors.
One thing im curious about, is if @hacksmith will account for if a suit would be able to take combat damage. I make power armor suits for a fallout larp called "Joplin wasteland" and one issue that became apparent right away is when suits that use this tech (yes we made it first but its cool to see someone making use of it) was that during combat, even minor damage to the suit would damage the components enough to lock the suit up, or even potentially make a component injure the user. I know this suit is for fun (just like the ones our players can use) but the major problem came from kinetic shock, rocking through the suit and causing damages. What would happen if the suit was struck with a sword, or shot with bullets? i think that even if the armor deflected the bullets, the kinetic damage would be enough to cause a mobility kill.
The exterior armor will have to have shock absorption capabilities, a key part of making things bulletproof is distributing force over a larger area. The entire suit needs to be designed with that in mind to deflect force away from weak points and distribute it across stronger parts. Will also need to have a rubber or other layer that can be made as a shock absorber, some materials can change properties when electrocuted so they're only "on" when needed
Any of y'all remember when they tried to make spartan armor WITHOUT neural implants and the motors sort of just snapped limbs and heads whenever the pilots tried to move
The infalting mechanism is so smart, I bet the sense the preasure difference in the inflated parts to detect the movement, i saw the video in my about feed, still got to watch it though, but ima joink that for my project! Can't wait for the full result! (Edit, i said join instead of joink lol)
It’s actually impressive how many clueless people think it’s gonna bend backwards when it physically can’t…good job on answering to everyone’s doubts anyway! Good work also!
From the video it is very clear that reverse of this bending move is the issue here... Someone packed everything into the biceps and there is no room left for triceps? LoL
When it's finished, they need the FO4 experience, where you forget to take the Power Core out, a resident uses it to fend off bandits, then just leaves it in a field somewhere.
The whole time i had nothing but that scene from Ironman 2 when Tony is showing the demos from his "competitors "...specifically Hammer's in my mind. 😂😂😂
@ because you’d be surprised how stupid the average man can be. And how easy of an oversight this would be to someone too excited to use it before thinking of what could possibly go wrong 😂
Ayy it actually looks like theres some restriction from crushing/overextending the extremity (arm). Maybe hook it up with some neuro imaging and it may improve the fluidity of movement???
I think that having pressure sensors might make it easier. Kinda like free movement, but the hidrolics will still be utilized with less need for physical force to move your arm
you are a really wise person. I really admire how strong you are and how brave you are to share your thoughts in a judgmental world like today. I’m so sorry for what you’ve gone through. Make a space marine power armor
How safe is it??
In the next 20 years we’ll have space marine armor worthy of the emperors blessing
You guys should look into the doom guy's suit👀

Lol
Yup

100% came here to say that.
Twists torso 180° whilst keeping legs locked.

Exactly where my first thought went. XD
The lil dance he does in stage 😂😂😂😂😂
honestly you could probably fix that adding a locking system that makes it mechanically impossible to twist past 90 degrees.
Think for a second… why on earth would they need a torso twisting mechanism?
Hammer Tech ey?
