Maj Gen A Arun, YSM, SM, VSM is a highly decorated officer of the Indian Army. He opted to serve our Nation choosing to join NDA over IIT despite securing a JEE rank of 13. He has a very rich, varied & successful professional service of 34 years including roles in counter-terrorism as well, and training in Wellington, Canberra, Cambodia, Sierra Leone, New York, Geneva & Switzerland. While serving successfully in Jammu & Kashmir, he had been shot & seriously wounded in five different counter-terrorism operations. Apart from being a recipient of Sena Medal (SM) for Gallantry, Yudh Seva Medal (YSM) for Outstanding Leadership in Conflict, Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) for Distinguished Leadership & Outstanding Service, he has been awarded the Chief of Army Staff's Commendation four times as well as the North Star Medal for Excellence. He is currently the Chief Instructor at the prestigious Officers Training Academy, Chennai.
