I was expecting this guide to to be comprehensive, but god damn, I was not expecting it to be _this_ comprehensive!! I can completely see why it took so long to get this out, the amount of time and effort that obviously went into it is absolutely astounding. Everything - from the script, to the music choices, to the demonstrations, to literally going through every map in the game to point out good spots to be in - is just _incredibly_ well-done!! Absolutely phenomenal job on this guide, dude, I don't think there was any way you could have made it more comprehensive than this!
other important notes about ink and sub resistance: 1sub inkres also reduces the rate you take damage in enemy ink by 33% and gives a nice boost to movement speed through it, and 1sub subres also reduces tracking time from sensor/mine/marker by quite a lot (-1.5seconds for sensor) which is rlly nice for a sharky weapon
Gonna let you know this actually helped me a shit ton, I'm dying less and getting more kills, preforming better, and having more fun playing carbon deco. This is genuinely one of the best guides for splatoon :D
I'm far from perfect with carbon deco but here's something I learned after one-tricking it for almost a year: I found extremely useful to play off your teammates' specials. Don't just sit and watch a triple inkstrike or a booyah bomb from your team go. If it's safe, consider them as smoke bombs and get in. I saw Volty from AR do this and I've tried it. It sometimes does wonders :D I play a lot with my friend whose a slosher main and we often compare our dynamic to babysitting💀He provides paint and I call him out if I ever need a small patch of ink for me to go a certain place and shark so I don't get exposed trying to make one myself using a vertical flick or a burst bomb. I also try asking him whenever his special is ready in order to maybe use them to my advantage depending on the reason he's popping it. But yeah in general, communicating your actions is extremely important and it makes this game, and especially playing carbon deco, a lot more fun and satisfying! I'm so glad I picked up this weapon and I'm not planning on dropping it anytime soon. And if you haven't touched it yet well now is the time to join us :D
I mainly play chargers and other backlines, so I couldn’t play a more different weapon than Carbon Deco. I’ve always wanted to pick it up for fun though, as it’s kit interested me. So yippee 40 minute guide on the bonk stick.
THANK YOU for this beefy guide! Carbon has been one of my main weapons since Splat 1 and there still several new tricks that I picked up from this video. The time you took to make this was well worth it 👏🔥
Thank you for this video, Despite playing since splatoon 1's release, i never had really been into competetive untill shortly before grandfest. after getting quite comfortable with the carbon I knew i wanted to main it more and this video really helped. Thank you!
RAHHHHHHHHHHHH CARBON ROLLER! btw really appreciate the guide, tried learning the weapon because I played lots of splat roller but was intimidated by the burst bomb but this helps alot by giving me the knowlege to go about playing it! :D
Holy shit this is a good guide. Carbon is one of my casual go-to weapons in all 3 games and I still learned a ton from this. The amount you super jump is something I found especially interesting and is something I definitely wanna try out. If there's anything I could add it's that the carbon is pretty much useless on its own, forced only to sharking. You gotta play off your allies, moreso than any other weapon or you will be at a bottleneck.
as far as i know you're the only mad man out there who manages to play deco competitevely without always using ninja squid. I think that some solo practice with swim speed up or QR really helps you to understand how to move stealthly without relying on the ability.
i started maining carbon deco barely after it arrived on splatoon 3 and this actually helped me a lot, specially on the matchups part you're such a big inspiration and i always try to study your vods when you play carbon on tournaments, so i'll keep on practicing to get better!
i found you literally yesterday, and ive been binge watching your videos while im resting or doing work, its so fun to watch competitive splatoon matches as a casual/turf war player!! watching you made me wanns try out carbon roller and this guide iss helping me out a lotttt tysm 😭😭
Thank you for this guide, this is just what I needed as someone who is very used to an nzap playstyle😂 As for 13:10, my assumption is it does more damage at the tip of the flicks, and aiming too high up means the end of the flick goes over the opponent!
This is the most ooga booga weapon in this game. It’s funny that the proper way to use this is to just run in and be a psychotic gremlin. I’m not a competitive player so I won’t be any good with this but I’m having fun so far. It’s a big change from the slow paced back line stuff I do.
Nice to see signs of life here (from someone that doesn't watch shorts). Also a great guide. I don't play short range ambush weapons but I like to know how they think and what they do.
I've 4 starred the carbon roller deco but I know for certain my lose ratio with it is probably quite high compared to my wins with it. I just enjoy using it because its fun. I've only been playing splatoon for like 5 months I believe so this video is helpful as I did not know some basic techquies like flicking on a ledge ( I don't just play carbon roller. Even then it's the only roller class I play 😅)
thanks for this omg! i like playing support/midline with naut lol but carbon deco is so fun even though i'm mostly losing with it (for now) in TC i fear your carbon slayer propaganda has influenced me.... awesome video
Not a lot of people know this but you can shark on the wall in mid of undertow spillway for quite a bit before you reach the floor without swimming up. You can even just swim over mid, on that wall from one end to the other, so long as its painted well enough. The more you know...
I kinda feel like trying Carbon again after this video, but even as someone who usually doesn't use it, I feel like some of the aspects here fit into my VStamper playstyle, that I can implement there aswell, so yeah very helpfull guide. The music was also good throughout this, I really feel like this deserves more attention. One thing I have to ask about is the stamper matchup. I feel like Carbon, specifically Carbon Deco is a nightmare for stamper. Idk if that's actually the case or just my aggressive playstyle on VStamper. I could change my mind if I play more NStamper tho
Stamper is a weapon I like to fight in about midrange Close range is hard cause they may dash slash to trade far doesnt work since they outrange by a ton mid range is awkward for stamper, and alright for Carbon ^^ Ideally you just shark everything mwahahaha
(I've posted this yesterday but now I can't find it so I am posting it again.) Hey as a carbon enjoyer I really enjoyed your guide!
