What a premonition! She sings Cabaret even before she did the movie, only one year after the musical opened on Broadway with Jill Haworth, and one year before the London production with Judy Dench.

I was trying to work out the timeline. Would she even have thought that she may have been up for a film version I wonder? Or just that it was recent hit show? And not like an Aussie show would have necessarily been seen outside of the country. Amazing coincidence! 🤩

Thank you for uploading the full special. Liza mentions at one point that this is her second visit to Australia, which would date this special as 1968. Liza first came to Australia in 1967 and while playing a cabaret engagement at Sydneys Chequers nightclub, she was featured on Channel Nine's "Bandstand" program. Liza returned to Australia in mid 1968,also performing at Chequers.According to the credits of this special, many of the crew from the earlier "Bandstand" show were also involved in the production of this special.

By 1968 , which this special is from Liza closet to four years stage craft behind her. Her singing and dancing is so fresh for the time it was made. Liza should of been a true superstar but her arrival at this point in the history of music. 1968 more about the hippie movement. This is perfect time capsule. Thank you for posting it . 5/5

People often forget how good a dancer Liza was!. I just adore the ‘All I need now’ segment!

Even her mother Judy Garland, said Liza was a much better dancer than she was.

When she sings cabaret, she talks about her mama, we can see in your Eyes.

Забавно, что в кириллице и Лиза и Лайза пишутся через "З".

As you probably know, "Cabaret" was originally written for Liza, but Hal Prince didn't want her. Talk about payback: America had to wait five years for the movie and for "Liza With a Z."
