The thermocell is the truth dude early season is and absolute must. Saws and pruners yup throw a GPS in there, and a small med kit and we got a gear bag that works Great video
That rug idea is actually pretty smart! Can't say I've ever thought of that! I've always just sat on the tailgate of my truck and put my waders on or do it while I'm in the boat riding to the spot!
Top shelf! Great tips. Headlamps: I’ve gone to built-in lights in camo ball caps and sock hats. They’re not as bright, but I never forget em! Prayer rug: my old man taught me that trick in the early 1980s. You are SPOT ON! Seat/stool: no question!! I dig the short MoMarsh chairs with overhead cover and brush straps, plus the smaller, lighter ones. Saw/pruner: gotta have em! ONX: love it. Got it. Use it mostly for turkey and goose spots. Cheers to Chase. I married myself a great Wisco gal. Won’t say where she’s from and will follow your line...”somewhere in Wisconsin,” but we fly into CWA when we visit. Cheers from Colorado!
I thought you were gonna say the prayer rug for bumpin your knees to the ground and praying for ducks migrating to California. Good addition to the gear though.
As far as the prayer rug. I have purchased a sportsman tote to store my waders in in the off season I drilled a few seepage holes in the bottom, I take the lid and attach a foam kneeling Mat to the inside of the lid. I can still close the tote, but I can stand on the lid on 1-2’ of snow with same effect of prayermat
Always keep an old dollar bill in my wader pocket. Get a call reed hanging up or sticking and its just a quick swip under or between the reeds if its a double and youre back in bussiness quick.
@@MidValleyMercenaries I’m a first year waterfowler and I showed up one day with a rubber mat.. they thought I was crazy, I said, a Sitka wading bag is crazy hahaha
I got old fashion poker table chairs the metal folding ones and some turkey pads for sitting on. Because most mud seats have one support and the metal folding chairs have 4 you can put them in the lake on the shore sit on the chair part or feet on the seat and sit on top. Probably the most versatile seat I have used and you can get them for about 10 bucks at reclaim stores.
A discarded pair of panty hose. Don't go there guys, cause I know ya will. Here's what ya do. When you shoot one that you want to mount, fold/lay down the wings, especially the mains, and the other feathers, as well as the feet and slide the head of the duck into the opening of the cut leg all the way down to the toe. You can then store the bird in your bag or some other compartment to keep it from getting damaged getting out of the woods and to the taxidermist. You'll get a much better mount in the end. It weighs nothing, takes up no space, and it should last forever.
If you enjoyed this collab with SIW give this video a thumbs up! Check out our gear HERE www.midvalleym.com

Titus, what is your favorite decoy manufacturer? I’m teetering between FA and Lifetime.
Right now mine is FA. Paint job, carving, and durability are great. Lifetime is good for being light
Dude....getting a prayer rug for next season
It’s money
