Just wanna say how awesome it is that big ten is uploading these big matches for free. In an age where you have to unfortunately pay to watch any kind of wrestling (and then it won’t even stream properly *cough cough flowrestling), it’s cool that the BTN is letting us see them so soon on TH-cam. Keep up the great stuff BTN!

Spencer lee is just on another level, it’s crazy
So much for no gas tank. Put up 10 points in the third. That cross face at end to catch the wrist was nasty. I wouldn't want any part of that.
He has the gas tank. Sometimes he really lays off the throttle in the third period once he gets a big lead. I think he's beating himself up a little bit about that dynamic? I think he's working towards a Desanto gas tank for the Olympics and the trials. Gross and Suriano will be tough.
eh, he 'seemed' to have gas tank issues early in the season. clearly, he got his groove on by post season. guy looks unstoppable
A miler will have a gas tank issue if he goes out too hard in the first 800 meters. Building up tons of points in the first two periods burns a ton of calories.
Jason McFly he works hard on top to turn guys, that takes much more energy. Being on your feet, where a lot of guys wrestle, is far less fatiguing. You’l never see him tire in a freestyle match. Look at the Medley match. In the dual, Medley laid there and he’s a huge, very strong 125. Lee worked really hard trying to get back points and gassed. In B1G, he didn’t waste so much energy initially, he took him down and let him up, three times. I’d never seen him do that before. He let Medly know he was going to tech him one way or another and he broke him psychologically. One he did that, he turned easily and teched him. He’s smart.
Jason McFly more like he didn’t tilt this guy 3 times like he does everyone else so he’s got more gas to burn later.

I mean, it is Lee. He's the best wrestler on top in college, pretty sure he could hold almost anybody underneath for well over a minute

One of the most dominating wrestlers to ever do it at 125 lb division. Lee will win his 3rd NCAA championship this year hopefully. He deserves it.

Absolute savage and a great humble athlete and role model. He always acts like he’s been there before because he has and has the mentality of a champion I love seeing that but almost wish he would get a little jacked up sometimes. Maybe if he gets that Olympic Gold he will! There has been a lot of PA phenomenons like Pirrazola, Garret Scott, Chance Marstellar that hit bumps in the road off the mat or never really reached there full potential on it and going to Iowa probably helps a lot because there’s not much to do in Iowa and it’s such a family and team stay in line type mentality I feel it’s harder to get in trouble probably. That being said love seeing Lee stayed on the straight and narrow and is reaching all his potential! Hats off!

@@poolboyinla Lee is a lot like retherford. If you don't belly out, you'll get turned. But it sure is more interesting when someone does something rather than run all of their energy out in a match trying to stay bellied.

Spencer Lee is the only offensive-minded wrestler I’ve seen at Iowa in the past few years, and, consequently, he’s Iowa’s only recent champion. Makes me wonder if Tom Brands is drawn to defensive wrestlers or they develop into defensive wrestlers in Iowa’s wrestling room...

Justin Duerr because they all ran from him. Nobody running from any of the 133, they’re all at the same level, 6-7 could have won if Fix and Suriano hadn’t redshirted. Lee is so dominant that people are used to it. Same thing happened whenever Michael Jordan didn’t win MVP, they were anesthetized to greatness.
@@cbrend22 if they all ran from him that would mean they all switched weight classes. Almost all the guys at 133 in the Big Ten have been at 133 their whole college careers. OW is about who had the best tournament, not who is the best wrestler.

PA wrestling for life! Always and will be the toughest wrestling state! It’s been debated and always been known in my opinion but it’s statistically consistently proven to be the best year after year in the US. Since they mostly do freestyle and folk style outside the states it’s really the best folktale wrestling spot on the planet.
There is a reason the "Dapper Dan" is Pa vs the best team the other 49 states can make, and PA wins half the time. Just a huge Wrestling State. Much like other schools will have standing room only for basketball games, in Pa. you will find that in MANY High school gyms for wrestling meets.
Lee Forrest yeah I know bud my brother was a pa state champ and beat a five time Minnesota state champ in the dapper dan. I love watching that classic. The US team was stacked that year though. Grew up in PA was wrestling at 4 years old I’m very familiar with the traditions it is the best!
