    Simply doesn't matter if it was the best game ever or whatever game from whatever year was better. All that matters is this:
    Chicago Cubs are World Series Champions!!!

    Colin made a good point about the crowd for game 7, everyone was involved and worried about that game. Not the same case with the NBA and NFL postseasons where it's more of a social media event or party. The MLB regular season is one thing, but during the postseason MLB has the best crowd atmosphere hands down

    As a Cubs fan Chapman and Maddon should thank their lucky stars that the Cubs lineup saved their butts because both of them were on the verge of getting so much hate and despise from Cubs fans and sports analysts worldwide!

    • @anthonyrodriguez4574
      @anthonyrodriguez4574 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Joseph Harris you can't really blame Chapman he was overused and he crashed

    • @mojojojoslyfoxharris
      @mojojojoslyfoxharris 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I blame Maddon more for Chapman struggling in Game 7, but if Chapman truly wants to make a name for himself, he needs to step up when the team needs him the most and Chapman didn't do his job while have a comfortable 3 run window. Yes, he saved the Cubs by making sure they went to extra innings in the 9th inning, but he was also the reason extra innings had to happen in order for the Cubs to have a chance then. Nonetheless, Maddon should never have (1) used Chapman in Game 6, (2) Taken Hendricks out so soon, and (3) Put Chapman in before the 9th inning in Game 7. Maddon clearly let the circumstances of Game 7 affect his MGMT, but the Cubs love him so much, they bailed him out despite those mistakes!

    • @mojojojoslyfoxharris
      @mojojojoslyfoxharris 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chapman could have been the person who stood on the mound when the final out was made and make highlight reel history. Instead, Cubs fans will always see Mike Montgomery when Chapman had the opportunity to be in that spot and let that slip.

    I guess it depends on what you think makes it the greatest. I believe people are looking simply at the results of the game and nothing more. To me the greatest game is one of the most memorable one. This was a game we saw 2 teams with the longest droughts in baseball history meeting for a winner take all with one fighting from being down 3 games to 1. That to me already sets it up with potential to be one of the greatest. Then you throw on there the lead off HR, the comeback by the Indians late, a rare 2 run wild pitch, Ross coming off the bench to hit a HR during his last career at bat, the rain delay, the heyward speech, the 10th inning magic, and finally 2 pitchers no one thought would see game time come in and become hero's to hold off the Indians attempt at another comeback. Even Bryant slipping on the wet grass to get the final out is still talked about. So maybe these aren't the things others describe as the greatest, but to me they made this one of the greatest games I've ever watched. I don't think anyone can deny that America was glued to their TVs for this one not knowing what to expect next. Here he describes it as the wildest game ever, but to me that is what made it the greatest game ever.

    Again I say this. Games like the Twins-Braves Game 7 and the Reds-Red Sox Game 6, those are very good games and they are the best games ever, but they aren't the greatest. This game is the greatest of all time because there are moments in this game like Dexter Fowler's leadoff bomb, Rajai Davis in the 8th, and Ben Zobrist in the 10th, as well as the game-ending play by Kris Bryant where he almost does the splits and throws a perfect strike to Rizzo. Greater game, not better.

    Sadly it was too much for me. Life long Cubs fan , who's Father that instilled in me a love of the Cubs died the season before, turned it off after the Davis HR in the 8th. I turned it back on just to confirm my dread only to see that there was a rain delay and the Cubs had Schwarber on base. I couldnt believe it. Cried like a baby all night wishing my Dad was there to see it.

      Very PATHETIC excuse! In that case, Umpire doesn't miss a CLEAR strike 3 call that would've gotten the Cubs out of the 5'th inning with a 5-1 lead, there wouldn't be 2 run a wild pitch, let alone would the home run Indians got in the 8'th inning would even tie the game.

    I've been following baseballl since I was a little kid in 1956 and the Cubs-Indians Game 7 was the best. As it was pointed out, two LOSING franchises. Someone HAD to win. Mistakes? Yeah, there were some but the prize was someone FINALLY came through while the other team still hopes. I used to think the Pirates-Yankees Game 7 in 1960 was the best, but Cubs-Indians tops everything.

    Baseball Is the only real sport. Basketball Is all flash no game CONSTANT complaining and flopping. There's only one player that Is ever talk about and Is treated like he's the only player In the league. else In the league. And If said player dose something not even relevant to the game or dose something In a game It becomes a 30-60 minute segment and makes top story on ESPN. NFL kinda the same Just less complaining and there a few more stars talked about.

      Let me ask you this: what do you define as an exciting game? For me, it's two great evenly matched teams giving all they got right down to the last seconds or final out. Clearly, this game was exciting for me because it had all of those elements. But for you, it must be different from my expectations. What makes a great game from your point of view?

      SLR107FR31 Don't get snippy. I was just asking...
      I can see your point very clearly. I haven't seen a lot of these games because I didn't get into baseball until high school, which was back in 2005-06 when I was a sophomore and junior. But as a Cubs fan, this entire series was exciting for all of us because we've waited for this for our entire lives. And for someone to say that game 7 of the 2016 wasn't one of the greatest games or most exciting games ever sort of breaks our hearts because we've been in a 108 year drought without a championship until last year, so this game meant a lot to us.
      I can respect your opinion that this game wasn't exciting for you, but at least try to see it from a Cubs fan's point of view. Again, with my previous comment, I was only asking a question, and I didn't mean to get under your skin like that. I apologise if I did...
