The really sucky part is that after it did happen I got all cocky and figured we'd be well on our way to stacking multiple championships by now. Then 2017 happened, and our still great team had a hangover and stumbled a bit. That wouldn't even be so bad if the Dodgers weren't so scary good this year.

Jack Black until this game was final I used to watch game 6 of the 03 nlcs constantly hoping that something would change and we would have won the pennant. Now I watch this game and pray that nothing changes.
I'm 39 years old, and my mom started taking me to Cubs games when I was about 9 years old. We'd hop on the CTA bus, get off at Clark and Addison, sit in the bleachers, and watch guys like Sandberg, Dawson, Grace, Maddux. Sadly, my mom passed away in 2011 and all I could think of when they finally won it was how I wished she could have been here to see this. Thanks Mom, and this one is for you.
Steve Roth I am so sorry to hear this. She would have been in tears of joy for sure, but I know she would appreciate you thinking of her when they won too.
It sounds ridiculous, and it is, but I still get really anxious and nervous when I watch this, even though I know the outcome. It was like time stood still with every pitch, as I watched this live.
I still cry watching this. I will never feel more blessed in my life than I felt being able to watch this game with my dad who has been a Cubs fan for over 65 years. Happiest day of my life.

A Neon Chicken That may be true. But hey it's baseball most announcers are boring. But what I love about Pat is he's always on point when he make those great calls.
He is the best radio baseball announcer ever. He is so into the game that you can tell whether the ball is going to be in or out. He also has a great voice.
I just go back to that night in early November to the thought that my grandma who passed away in 2013 was cheering in the Great Wrigley Field in the Sky. As a Royals and Cubs fan, she first got the Royals the 2015 series and then got the Cubs the 2016 series. And then I start crying. Everytime. Knowing she was celebrating.

I can literally pass tomorrow and be happy that I saw them win it all! It's 2023 and I'm starting again from scratch watching them rebuild into hopefully a contender again someday. Go Cubs Go!🐻
I will NEVER forget this moment! Insane! We are massive Cubs fans! My husband was born with the cubs game playing in the delivery room and now my infant son watches games with his daddy. The love runs deep for our Cubbies!
Saw my first Cub game at the yard in 1957. Saw Larry Jackson, Dick Bertel, Jim Hickman, Don Kessigner, and more. I attended the 23-22 game in May of 1979....that gorgeous afternoon against the Phillies. At 19 yrs old, I was one of the original "Bleacher Bums" in left field in the late 60's . We'd head across the street to Ray's Bleachers (Now Murphy's Bleachers and a yuppie bar) after games. We all had fake ID's and nobody paid any attention. I even saw the Chicago Bears play in Wrigley. Then I actually attended Game 4 in Wrigley which was a dream come true. But THIS....THIS was the highlight of it all. Greatest day ever !!!
Cub fan since 1965. Couldn't watch after the rain delay. I knew they would blow it.Tried to sleep-heard guns and firework going off in my neighborhood around midnight. Realized they finally won it. Saw the replays and still found it hard to comprehend after so many disappointments.
I'm almost happier for Pat than the players on the field. They made it happen, but ever since I followed the Cubs, I hoped that I would get to hear Pat Hughes call a World Series victory. Listening to this almost makes me tear up TBH.
Never met Pat, but his best friend and classmate at San Jose State, Dave Eddy, a fine play by play guy in his own right with PCL experience, is one of my best friends!
Yes , but one of the most disliked guys in baseball. He was almost universally disliked by other players not on the Cubs.....and sportswriters. That's why he had such a tough time getting in the hall.
Never will forget. Spent the evening sitting in my parents living room watching this game with them. Remembering the summer trips to Wrigley as a kid. Mom packing a picnic basket and spending the day watching my team. I Had already lived my life long dream by attending game 4 in Wrigley.
Watched this for the first time, since it happened, during this Coronavirus shelter-in-place. Definitely needed something to smile about. Did the trick.
Other than my 2 daughters being born this was the greatest day of my life. All cubs fan deserved this and so did Pat Hughes, has been announcing cubs games since 1996 I remember always listening to cubs games on the radio with the early 2000’s with my grandpa and always hearing Pat Hughes and Ron Santo’s voice. this was for all the cubs fans who endured endless years of being bad and not winning championships and didn’t get to witness this. I randomly come back and watch highlights of this game cause it brings back such great memories. GO CUBBIES! Can’t wait to win another
As a Sydney Swans/South Melbourne fan in the AFL in Australia, I know how this must have felt for you Cubbies. In 2005 the Swans broke a 72 year drought and won it all. It was incredible.
Take out all of the history of this series. Take out all of the history of this incredible game 7! It was literally the greatest baseball game that I've ever seen! 5 minutes after the last pitch, it dawned on me that my grandparents never witnessed this! Kinda blew my mind!
I’ve always thought of him in this moment. U know he’d have cried something out as soon as that ball started dribbling toward Bryant lol Really wish Pat would’ve said something about him in that moment.
My fathers been a cubs since the 50s and I can tell you this I will NEVER forget being with him that night watching the game together and just knowing my dads been waiting over 60 years as a fan for a WS. What an awesome and amazing feeling is being a CUBS fan! Go CUBS

Cub fan since 1965. Couldn't watch after the rain delay. I knew they would blow it.Tried to sleep-heard guns and firework going off in my neighborhood around midnight. Realized they finally won it. Saw the replays and still found it hard to comprehend after so many disappointments.
Pat Hughes is just fabulous.
I'm almost happier for Pat than the players on the field. They made it happen, but ever since I followed the Cubs, I hoped that I would get to hear Pat Hughes call a World Series victory. Listening to this almost makes me tear up TBH.
Bleak House Go Cubs!
Never met Pat, but his best friend and classmate at San Jose State, Dave Eddy, a fine play by play guy in his own right with PCL experience, is one of my best friends!
Just showed this to my 3 year old for the first time and it held his attention for the entire 12 minutes
For Ron Santo....buddy, this one was for you. He was looking down from above...
#No.10
Yes , but one of the most disliked guys in baseball. He was almost universally disliked by other players not on the Cubs.....and sportswriters. That's why he had such a tough time getting in the hall.
Was his toupee on fire?😉
This will NEVER get too old to watch!!! Peace
My dad passed in 03. Right after they lost to Florida. This felt like redemption in so many
Ways. I cried like a baby for sure. Lol Go Cubbies!
Best birthday present I ever received.
Same!!
Quality is outstanding! Thkz for the post.....
In all the hoopla, how great was Pats call? Accurate and under control. Beautifully described.
"Cubs win, Cubs win."
Steve Stone: Say it again, Harry.
"CUBS WIN!"
I can watch this over and over again. I never get tired of it.
Shit I'm a Yankees fan and I got chills watching this 👍
Blood Legion sane
Better than any world series we couldve gotten
The single greatest game ever played! Left me in total tears for two straight days!
Our long national nightmare is over.
After years of "Wait 'til next year!",
Chicago Cubs won the World Series!
Someday is now!
Theo Epstein, official curse breaker!!
LOL, nice Jerry Ford reference there Normajean! Don't think too many under 50 will get it
Jack Son maybe Theo should buy the knicks
Now Cleveland has to wait
I can't watch this often enough. Thanks for posting it!
I would had loved to hear Santos call on this!!! I can still hear his excitement in my head
Never will forget. Spent the evening sitting in my parents living room watching this game with them. Remembering the summer trips to Wrigley as a kid. Mom packing a picnic basket and spending the day watching my team.
I Had already lived my life long dream by attending game 4 in Wrigley.
I know it’s years down the line, but still congrats guys, I’m an Indians fan and I was still really happy for you guys.
Watched this for the first time, since it happened, during this Coronavirus shelter-in-place. Definitely needed something to smile about. Did the trick.
Thank You Theo
So sweet. I miss so many of these players especially Rizzo.
This was a great game, and series. Even as a Royals fan, I was rooting for the Indians, but the Cubs were pretty awesome this year.
I can never get tired of seeing these. Chills and tears everytime
Heart in my stomach every time I think of it. 11:47 P.M. (12:47 A.M E T). I will always remember the time😀
Cody Natof 11/2/16
Technically 11/3, as Cleveland is in the Eastern Time Zone
I was blessed to be able to be in attendance at this game. It was an unreal experience.
Pat Hugh’s greatest announcer living today
He sounds happy, and also sounds sad cause Santo wasn't next to him going crazy.
@@davidscanlon1244 Yeah that was a shame Santo and Harry missed this
love hearing the radio call! still blows my mind! love it!
As a Red Sox fan I can remember that feeling all too well and every time I go back to this I am happy I got to watch history twice 2004 and 2016.
GROSS a Red sox fan. I would NEVER admit that.
June 22, 2018.... still watching and never stop celebrating!!
"the Cubs come running out of the dugout. jumping up and down like..a bunch of delirious ten year olds" best call ever. #FlyTheW
Take out all of the history of this series. Take out all of the history of this incredible game 7! It was literally the greatest baseball game that I've ever seen! 5 minutes after the last pitch, it dawned on me that my grandparents never witnessed this! Kinda blew my mind!
Awesome thanks for downloading this.
folalde boxing
Watching on 10-3-2021 at 6:51am and I'm still crying like a baby.
Coomer's great, but man to hear Pat with Santo would've been priceless!
Anything goes, as long as that prick from Fox doesn't call it, I've seen many epic ball moments ruined by that guy
Go CUBS
God had to be sitting up in heaven, watching all the Cub fans going absolutely bat-shit crazy and thinking....Why didn't I do this sooner?
God, I’m in tears.
I remember sitting on the couch, watching that final play, and then going crazy.
I don't know why people don't include the top of the 10th inning in their "last inning" videos.
Jon Forsythe no this is "last 3 outs" video so it wouldn't include the top of the 10th
I am a die hard Cubs fan and not ashamed to say I cried like a baby when they won the series! How lucky we are to have seen it! Even ppl who aren't cubs fans or not even a fan of baseball at all the world shed a tear for the cubs that Wednesday night in November! 108 years of cubs fans living their whole life not getting to see it?! We are truly the luckiest fans of any team in any sport ever!!!
Too bad the historic call had to include a State Farm sponsored mention.
No sponsor, no radio call.
Yep that's American sports now. 99% commercials and advertisements
Oh my god WHO THE HELL CARES. It was 3 seconds of radio time out of 11:47 minutes of game calling
@@dougg2012 YEP
2016, the greatest year in sports.
One of the greatest years in recent history honestly.
Best World Series everrrrrrr. IT HAPPENED!!!!
Twins vs Braves 1991....better pitching fielding ......yet If your a long-suffering Cubs' fan ....well..it was a joyous moment!
A great series. He was a life-long Cubs fan and I just wish my Dad had been alive to see it!
