Did you pull power from the original harness going to the oem gauges? Do you remember what color the wire was if so?? Thanks! Plan on doing this as well my oil pressure gauge is garbage. already tried other fixes to get it to work. so Instead going to do this for more reliable setup 👍
I did pull power from the original harness. It’s a 5v IIRC it was green and yellow. The video shows the color I think. Yes this is a much more reliable setup and hasn’t let me down in the past 4 track events.
Hey man awesome video! I’m just about to start getting the Aem oil pressure installed but was wondering if I have to remove the factory pressure sensor above the filter if I’m going to be using the mishimoto sandwich plate adapter?
Cool! One last question, what kind of wire and gauge size did you use to extend the oil pressure wiring to be able to run it all the way into the cabin ?
Hi, how did you wire up the sensor for the oil pressure gauge, I’m guessing the original ones are through some sort of data bus so can’t get it from that and need a sensor?
Hey, so the AEM gauge came with an Oil Pressure sensor in the box. The factory sensor was replaced with the AEM one. I did have to get an adapter because the thread pitch and size were different on the VQ35HR block relative to the AEM Sensor. Then all I had to do was run the wires and connect power. Hope that helped.
@@2FIRacing would you mind sending me the link? I’m trying to make sure I get the right one, and also since you have an Hr like me on the there’s 2 sensors down there on top of the pan which is the one where the sensor goes in to the right one or left?
These gauge mounts are $12 each! Not 3 for the $12 price sadly. No idea why they would even sell them individually. They do look decent when installed.
Made it look too easy lol good work my dude
Thanks man! It’s all camera magic. I wouldn’t want to do it again.
Have 2 of the z1 bleeders in line...that way you get your temps while maintaining stock bleeder location too.
That's actually a really good idea!! Wish I would've done that!
All the gaps, and the finish of the waterfall around the gauge holders would absolutely drive me nuts.
Yeah it’s not my best work but it’s honest work. Lol.
Awesome glad I found this video i'm changing my Gauges to glad someone makes adaptors
Glad you found this vid helpful! It’s totally worth the trouble and Alliance Racing is the real MVP for making the adaptors.
@@2FIRacing sweet good to know ... If want check out my build on Insta @sask350z
@@sask350z gave ya a follow looking forward to your build dude!
Was thinking of just replacing the voltage meter with an oil temp gauge, is it easy to just remove one gauge or all they all attached?
They’re all attached. I’m sure you could take it apart though. I never tried.

@@2FIRacing thank you! And great video! Appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions.
@@jasonmaslowski5275 no worries, glad to help!
Great video. Now I know for when I do it myself
Awesome, glad I can help!

Thanks man! To answer your question you will. The AEM will replace it.

If you dont mind me asking, what do you ave mounted in the 12v source next the the waterfall?

I know, 😅 I misspoke in the video and the link shows the correct price.
the supports of the gauges where do you find them
You can pick them from alliance racing.
Solid work bud! Looks good
Thanks man! It was pain to install but worth it.
where did you get that sherpa shift boot lol
Haha, didn’t even realize it till you said it.
Best TH-cam Channel
I don’t know about all that, mediocre at best 😅
Any trimming needed on the factory trim to get these to fit? I’ve heard of fitment issues with the x series gauges but yours look good!
I did have to remove the silver metal trim from the pod holes in order to fit these. There is a gap now but, it doesn't look too bad in my opinion.
You have social media ? I have a couple questions looking to do this on my z asap
I do, IG @t.choi.autos
Love the video, man!
Thanks man, hope it helps!
They don’t make those gauge pod holder anymore
Reach out to Alliance Racing on IG, they should still be making the pods.
Woah, those gauges are pricey.
Nice
Thanks!
