I've watched many Asus Transformer (Prime & Infinity) reviews, none had an extensive review for the dock as much as you did. Thank you very much indeed
BTW: Not sure if this was mentioned before but there is a setting on the tablet to allow the keyboard to wake-up the device from sleep. It's under the ASUS customized setting menu.
now that's a proper review; if only others would make such fine reviews
Kind of a dumb question, but I wasn't sure if you mentioned it. So am I able to save video, music, or pictures onto my tablet from a USB connected then?
Great review!
Also nice to see that you are showing your face in the recent videos. Really adds some personality to them.
What an amazing demonstration. So, clear, and informative. Thank you for your teaching skills. I would like to ask whether or not there is only one Asus Transformer Pad Infinity Keyboard Dock. I have the TF700 and I say what looks like the same dock you were demonstrating on the Staples website, however, it seems to indicate that what looks to be the same keyboard you showed, is only compatible with the TF701. I called Staples, locally, and they didn't seem to be able to answer my question. One fellow told me that since the TF700 is the 2013 model that it might not be possible to get the keyboard dock that goes to the 700. I am not planning on buying a different one, since I haven't had this one that long. So, you could advise, it would be very much appreciated. Thank you and thank you again for your demo. Super, just super.
i just bought the tf700 (tablet only) as a Cristmas gift for my elder son, and was pondering whether to get the keyboard dock sometime in the near future. after seeing this review, i'll definitely get one
I personally love the Chicklet type Keyboards, my old laptop had the style and I really enjoyed the feel. So I'm very excited that both the TF700 and TF300 have the Chicklet style keyboards!
so many youtube users have over 300 videos but detroitborg and some others are the only ones of whose videos are useful
WOW 24 thumbs ups for my comment, I did not check the video till I've just got notification that you've replied (I've already got my Asus Transformer Infinity) and I am happy with it, the only thing I do NOT like about it is Audio, neither built in speaker nor headphone output are loud enough (especially in a noisy surrounding)
A great review, as usual, thanks Michael.
Do you keep all the smartphones and tablets that you review? (Except for the LG Lucid and the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 because they are review units.)
yes, maybe adding keyboard enhances productivity, still you can't beat the desktop environment, especially when it comes to word processing.
I'm still not convinced of having a physical keyboard for tablets it doesn't make sense loose the whole idea of portability devices! Greetings from Mexico PD. your reviews are really useful
Hi This dock works wit Asus transformer pad TF103xc ? When not can you give me information which works? Sorry for my bad english!
loved the review. hit all the points i need quick and clean. keep up the good work buddy :]
Is this the same keyboard as the one that they sold with the Prime? Or did they just recycle the instruction manual?
Asus is such a BADDASSS company, love all their products, exellent quality!
Well I also have an iMac and I always find occasions where I feel a laptop would be handy. I'm only 16 so I had to choose desktop or laptop. (I bought it with my money by the way.) You should look at the ASUS Zenbook UX31E or UX31A and the MacBook Air. They are both ultra portable and are fully functional and pretty powerful laptops. Even though they are kinda pricey, you get what you pay for (at least with the Zenbook). The Transformer Infinity isn't optimized for Microsoft Office too.
Should I buy this one or a Galaxy Note 10.1? I'm crazy about the note taking features but I don't have a laptop, I'm looking for maximum productivity. Which one would you recommend?
Would it be wise just to get the old TF201 keyboard dock off the shelves, and save the extra 50 bucks?
Thanks for the info!
the best tech reviewer.
Man, In my homeland, Salvador-Brazil, is always hot. Annual Average: 27°C. Never is cold. But 39°C is too much, my friend. I love your videos. Greetings from Brazil.
Hey mike u make great videos. That is why u always have decent comments
I've been researching which tablet to get for a while now and some of my priorities were a good hardware keyboard, good battery life, expandable memory and a decent screen resolution. This tablet/keyboard combo seems to tick all of those boxes perfectly. I think I've made my decision...
Should I charge my tablet and keyboard before turning it on for the first time?
if you want to be cheaper but sacrifice screen res and battery life (and a couple more things) get the transformer tf300t, although this one will suit all of your needs!
does the tablet only go in one way? it would be cool if you could put the tablet in backwards and close it to use it as a straight tablet with the extended battery (not to mention help carry around the dock when not in use)
like those failed laptops with the rotating screen from a few years back
This is a dumb question, but does this come with the tablet?
Hey nice vids bro, out of all tablets which u think is best, I want to play games on it and also be able to surf web and have a good keyboard for homework projects
Already got my Transformer thanks. Where I live a 13" Mac book air is almost twice the price as what I paid for my ASUS Transformer... also I was looking more for a tablet (which could double as a netbook when I needed it), not so much a laptop.
Im confused, i dont know wether to get a nexus 7 and a cheap laptop or this, i will be using the laptop for msotly school work and nexus for media consumption. Will the transformer be good for both? Please respond
The keyboard is sold seperately. It costs around $150 depending on where you look.
Is this keyboard available with other keyboard layouts than the U.S. keyboard layout?
is there a way to deactivate that trackpad? i bet it can get uncomfortable to try to type with it on.
is this a good substitute for a laptop?
Cyberpower PC does sell a 11.6 inch gaming netbook. Although I would recommend something that small because of heat problems.
Do companies send it to you? or you buy it?
Which is better a iPad with keyboard or this?
when u close the tablet will it sleep , and when u open it does it wake
Ok thanks what keyboard do you recommend buying? Eh
Hey DetroitBORG nice video. Have you heard of a bluetooth keyboard case for the ipad called the clamcase? It is pretty much has the same design of the keyboard dock for the transformer. If you ever buy it you should do a comparison of the transformer dock and the clamcase.
So all that white writing on the right side of the tablet is permenatly there?
Awsome tablet! Getting mine on Xmass
Hey, shout out to my home-town, Auburn Hills! Love the review. Thanks.
does the touchscreen still work when its docked?
I'm about to finish college, I just need something portable. I own an iMac, I don't think I need another computerI don't take that many notes, mostly at work meetings. That's why I'm interested in a tablet that allows me to edit files on the go. I think Asus has the best of both worlds.
Hey are you giving away them (both) anytime soon? Cause I really need and want them.
for what tablet is this for?
Could you test one thing?
I wonder if a wi-fi mouse/keyboard plus a portable hard drive would work if both were connected to usb port by one of those usb hubs.
great product. I believe that notebooks will have a removable screen that turns into an ipad style device. best of both worlds.
Wow, this looks really good, mucg better implematation than motorolla did with their lapdocks.
Nice. A REAL unboxing.
Hey will the infinity docking keyboard would work in transformer prime tablet ?
Where did you find this tablet and dock for $150?
its different, asus is making tablets with docks for years, surfece is one who took their idea if you are saying that asus saw that from surface
What kind of DSLR do you have?
wow very good conservation of tablet and pc
can you use microsoft office????? like word and power point????
what would you use the alt button for?!
How to use the cursor or touchpad?
This is a really great tablet
wow this is so cool.thanks for the review.
I don't know what to buy ipad 3/ Samsung tap or this.
Can I use this for online paper sir plzzz ans
I thought the same! But the price 4 that?
thanks.. good help.. i can open my new Asus 700T.. it's clear better than user manual
one of the best !!
This is soooo much better than a Chrome Book
Do you have adobe flash player on it?
Love the hat! Go Blue!
Do you like any NCAA sports Mike?
Generally I'm not a big Android Tablet fan and I prefer the iPad but this keyboard dock is a big pull factor over the iPad
great review men :)
This is such a good idea, this product. Hmm this or an iPad.
Wow it's like a laptop!
Would make a nice little laptop but if I was to go with a small portable laptop it would have to be the macbook air. Or the macbook with retina.
can i connect my game controller in usb port and play games through controller pllllzzzzz replyy
Can u use usb mouse
Nice intro!
Plz reply does the docking station come with it
No.
No
But thats stupid.then whys there a pic of the docking keyboard on the box?
michael mineo why show off something thats not there mr dipshit
I call that falsw advertising.
you should always start your videos like that
What if you run Windows 7/8, Linux on it?
Why would you connect a keyboard on a keyboard?
i wish for the keyboard dock to have a DVD Player.
as stupid as this may sound. is there a way to run itunes or some other program for iPhone organization on this pad?
So no overheating issues, 16hours of use, ridiculously thin, separatable and android.
So why buy a laptop when in the same price you can have this ?
Dude I live near you! Well I used too, I used to live in Detroit.
Well that escalated quickly.
There are two versions of it. It can hold 16 or 32GB pre-formatted.
Dude, it's very hot in your city. 34°C!
There is no infinity dock, it uses the same keyboard as the TF201.
Can I put macbuntu on it?
Try to charge it up. If that does not work then google how to tun on.... then whatever keyboard you have.
This or Samsung galaxy tab 10.1?
here's my explanation. I don't want my device to be a laptop all the time, just when I'm at school. When I come home, I want to sit on the couch, detach the keyboard, and watch videos on it as a tablet.
this is a nice gadget to have around!
awsome video dude:D
Thanks for the review. Seems that what Asus did great job on copying the Apple like style from the box to the keypad. However, what Asus did on their own they failed. The colors are off, some of the UI is terrible, the icons are awful. I wish companies would just take more time into designing beautiful products all the way around. What's the point in the cap in the USB port? Why not ship it without the cap or put a trap door there.
I have one and like it.
I was a gift.
Does anyone know if the tablet has/or you can download aside from google drive (to use google docs) some sort of app like Microsoft office /word that you can save the file to a usb?
Great video...
