The hand written thank you notes are by far my favorite! It always makes me feel like my purchases matter and that I'm working with people and not a "faceless" company. Also the little tootsie-pops are great too 😂 These outtakes are hilarious!!
Thank you very much for this peek into the business, Brian. I loved the joke about the "very soft nib" of the knitted pen and getting to see the whole team. Thank you for the bloopers! "I'm happy that we have this pen." That's a classic!
Wow, you employ a lot more people than I thought. A few weeks ago, I thought spending over $100 on a pen was insane. But the more I watch your videos the more I want a nice fountain pen. I remember having one as a kid and it were the best thing ever.
This video is outdated even now, probably have 10 more people going into 2017. While a lot of those $100 pens are really nice, you don't need to break the bank for a great fountain pen experience if you want to get back into the hobby. Check out the Pilot Metropolitan: www.gouletpens.com/pilot-metropolitan/c/191 - Colin
Thank you for sharing your company and passion with us. Your staff has always been so wonderful and helpful with me as a newbie in fountain pens. Seeing everyone and putting a face to a voice is great. Excited for all you and Rachel have accomplished with your team. In listening to you both share on the utube shows why you are successful; you have a passion for what you do, appreciate who works for/with you and you care about us fountain pen lovers. Thank you all!
I'm a brand new Goulet customer and I'm already in love with your company and the product. My husband and I talk about the pens I order and I tell him all about my friend Brian and the great videos he shoots. :) Thanks for the tour! It was great!
6:03 Brian: I'm not a super organized person. 8:35 Also Brian: I have them all organized BY BRAND, ALPHABETICALLY, and I actually have a spreadsheet that I keep with all of the pens in which drawers that they're in...
Excellent video. I have been very impressed with your company's customer service. Kudos to Anna Payne who has guided me with a pen issue. Keep up the good work!!
Brian, awesome video this week. Very worth the wait :). I understand you do things at your store that you can't exactly show to the public as other companies would probably love to see that secret room for example. Everything else you do seems to flow right through. I love how most of your order fulfillment is all hands on, not a bunch of computers around during the order filling process. I realize it takes more paper for that, but I believe it also keeps your order processors and fulfillment team on track and having each item hand packed and checked off the list is awesome. I really enjoy your videos everything from your new pens, ink, and other product videos, and your Q&A videos always teach me something new. Thank you so much for being an awesome small business with awesome customer service, very quick order processing. I had 1 pen issue, and your customer service team took care of the problem right away.
Awesome video. Loved seeing the inner workings of your business and all the smiling faces of your awesome staff. Congratulations on 100 Q&As! Looking forward to the next 100.
Just found your company today, made my first order (ordered some ink for my mom) and then found your videos after. Great to see your company in action. She will be tickled pink to see the note at the bottom of her invoice. Not many companies have this level of personal service. Now I'm trying to find my next pen after using my Lamy Safari for YEARS. Write on!
Our purpose is prove that business can be personal, so those order notes and these videos are in line with that purpose. What pen are you looking for now? A lot of people go to TWSBI after the Lamy Safari, but let me know! - Colin
Congratulations on your 100th episode. You have such a caring and kind nature and you value your employees. May you always be blessed with success. Thanks for helping my fifth grade students take an interest in my fountain pen passion.
+The Goulet Pen Company After receiving your reply, I did look at Cursive Logic and will purchase one for my class. Hey just got into fountain pens I only have 3 but the addiction has taken hold lol. I like what your doing and how you run your business. I will now buy from a professional. You sir have a new customer. Thank you for what you do.
What an awesome boss you seem to be, Brian. And the fantastic work environment you have created for your team. I definitely aspire to be the kind of leader you are. There is a reason why your company has taken off and grown exponentially the way it has. And more so now, 4 years after this video. Right attitude, right people, right drive. Waiting for my first order to arrive (international, so a while) after binge-watching your videos the past few weeks. And because I'm not necessarily watching them in order, I feel like I'm travelling back and forth in time. But you certainly have built a great community for yourself, your team, and even your customers. Thank you!
As soon as you started introducing the CS team, I was going through the handwritten notes of my receipts. I have thank you notes from Katy, Anna and Jeremy. Hi guys!
1.) Bloopers are ABSOLUTELY amazing 2.) Seeing how much thought and hard work goes into putting our orders together and making sure they're perfect really give us an amazing insight as to why buying things from places like yours (even though prices can be slightly higher sometimes) is so much better! Thanks for being so awesome, keep up the hard work :)
Thanks, we charge what we need to charge to do it the way we feel it should be done. Sure it can be done cheaper, we could do it cheaper just like others, but this much care and attention just takes time. -Brian
Thank you for the tour. I liked your office. I had to pause at your bookshelf. I always love going thought peoples book and music collection. I noticed you keep a picture of the family watching over you. I liked the picture of the road leading to the mountain. I have a saying” sometimes it’s easier to climb over the mountain that it is to go around the mountain” Also you said “because you never know when you might need it” spoken like a true hoarder. LOL
This was great, getting to see some the faces that go with the names! :-) BTW, I always pictured Brian with a much bigger office, complete with a water cooler and his own private vending machines or something ha ha :-) Just kidding. It was fun to see that nice Ross fellow on your Customer Service team who helped me out with my broken TWSBI earlier this week. :-) As a Customer Service guy myself I know (in general) the kinds of things they do every day, so let me give a "shout out" to your great Customer Care team. Please tell Ross that I said he and his colleagues are the best and tell him thank you again for me! :-) Write On!!
Interesting to see that wall of ink samples you mentionned when answering my question about random ink samples! Your offices are so nicely equipped and organized. Fantastic!
So technically was that really the 100th Q&A since you didn't really answer questions? Just joking! That was really cool getting to see the behind the scenes tour. I was really excited to see the art work I sent of the face with different color hair behind the order processing team😍 Way to go with your 100th episode. Thanks so much for all your hard work and your teams. Customer for life!
Congratulations on reaching a professional milestone! Please keep up the good work! Your videos represent a major contribution to the education and base of knowledge of the community as a whole. I enjoyed the tour very much, as I had no idea of just how many people's work goes into running Goulet Pens! Much continued success!
I'm soooo jealous of your photography gear. Macro L lens on a 5D Mark III is my dream combo! But thanks a lot for the tour, it was an amazing present to us for this 100th Q&A! Also, your customer care team is amazing. I was utterly impressed by how fast and easy it was to get a replacement converter when one of mine, which I bought from you, cracked. Many stores would either make it difficult or long and tedious, but not Goulet Pens! I could buy products on Amazon or other places, but I always come back to your store because of your amazing service. Thank you for being there and feeding my pen addiction :)
We do have some sweet gear! I may or may not be a technophile, but I tell you what...photography makes fountain pens seem like a cheap hobby!!!! Thanks for the compliments, my CC team is tops tops tops -Brian
The Goulet Pen Company I have to admit, fountain pens are a cheap addiction when compared to photography! I'm aiming to be a photographer and I look at that 5D Mark III knowing my bank account will cry the day I get one...!
Awesome company you have built. I love receiving the orders you ship. The attention you give your employees and customers is to be commended. You exhibit ethics that are very rare. Thank you for all you do. I would kill to work for a company like yours.
I wish I would have seen this video sooner. It’s quite endearing to meet everyone and the family. Makes me want to order from your company all the time! Thanks for all your videos!
You Guys are the best! I can really Tell how much care and thought goes into each step! I hope one day to have a company with as much care and thought as yours!
Amazing video guys: it was great to see how many people take care of the pens we order. Your company is simply great and it is lovely to see how you deal with the job! A huge hug to all of you from Ireland and from a huge admirer of your job! Write on! :)
Im quite unorganized! Also, heres a whole system of cabnets that I paired up with a spread sheet. Lol I love this channel, it got me into fountain pens in the first place!!!
When you have like 500 pens, you have to have some sort of organization otherwise it'd be chaos! Thanks for watching, glad you found your way to us. :) - Colin
Brian, So glad I bought pens and inks from Goulet Pens! Customer service, picking and packing, shipping, speed of arrival, and quality control of the products were 5 star every step of the way, you and your crew really, really wowed me, and I say that from the bottom of my heart. I'd like to pick your brain for a sec, I'm trying to decide what my next Goulet purchase will be. I bought an Ahab from you recently and I'm in LOVE with it. Writes so beautifully, and the flex just makes me crazy (in a good way). My only reservation about the pen is that when it's clipped in my pants pocket, tip up, it seems like I wind up with ink in the cap and sometimes it winds up on the section, and then on my fingers. It's not a lot, and I can't tell if it's from me jumping around, or from sloppily capping and uncapping. So the question is this: if this sort of wonderful, inky, analog experience proves too much for me to handle on a day-in, day-out basis in my pocket, what are my alternatives? Is there a way to dial back the Ahab just a little? Or should I just let it be a desk pen and carry something in my pocket that's just a little bit more tame? I do not have to flex-write the tip and total on my credit card stubs, so the next pen does not have to be a flex, but I do think I need it to be very springy like the Noodler's flex nib. Do you have any suggestions for a springy/soft-tipped pen for daily carry in say the $100 range? I think much higher than 1 C-note and I'd just talk myself into getting the Pilot Falcon. I do appreciate ink capacity and refillability, so I lean toward pistons and eyedroppers (yes, Nathan Tardif got in my head during one of your Q&A interviews and I'm pretty stuck on Noodler's in general now). Pens I'm considering are Noodler's Konrad, Pilot Prera, TWSBI Vac 700 & 580AL, Monteverde Artista. If I had to tell you the nib I'm trying to avoid, it's the Platinum Preppy. Writes fine and smooth, but your hand does all the work, there's no give to the nib. Do I make sense? Any help is appreciated. Thank so much for all the great videos. -Hal
It's like the extras on a DVD boxset-very cool choice for 100, especially getting to see the whole crew! Nice to get a tour of the ranch, so to speak. :D
Thank you so much for sharing this! You guys are so awesome and it was super cool seeing some of the people who have signed my notes and who I have spoken with when I have called/done chat :)
I've been really enjoying your videos, its helped me with a few things I 've been unsure about. Havent yet been a customer unfortunately but I do appreciate the how you guys do stuff. the extra swag is always appreciated when I get some in an order, even if its seemingly "pointless". It's why I never give 5 star feedback to ebay sellers because doing the bare minimum and supplying a purchased is not the best they can possibly do. Some sellers do do that little more, like a free bonus, or careful packaging, or actual stamps on the package (I collect stamps), its the little things that make the experience that little bit better than the average delivery. I do like the hand written thank yous on receipts. not expected but that personal touch just helps. So on behalf of those who dont say it, thank you for your great service.
@9:24 I have that painting too! Thank you for all that you do, Brian. I would be lost in the world of pens if it weren't for you! I love the "extremely soft nib"! Also, just smoothing to share that I just thought of, If you have an iPhone/Apple device, there is a fountain pen emoji!! Write on! ✒️ ✒️
LOL I use those Alex drawers for a lot of things and I have a total 13 of them in 3 sizes. My most recent one is 6-drawer like yours that I call the "glitter locker". It is completely full of vials and jars of glitter of different types and sizes. My mom said I have too much........
Thanks!! It's a ton of hard work and risk doing what we do, but when you absolutely love it, that gives you the drive to put in the hard work needed :) -Brian
That was really fun and cute to watch. The whole teeth thing cracked me up! Very neat seeing the customer team, I feel like I know them. oh HI ANNA! She's a real doll who sent me some notebooks for the senior group I'll be teaching. They don't have them yet but I just know they are going to be so excited. if you're ever out Dodger way, join us for some BINGO! Keep up the good work gang! I'll keep telling everyone about you!
I didn't realize you had so many employees or that the business was that large. Looks like a nice place you got running there. And its nice to see that you still do so much for the business.
Just found this one, something I've been wanting to see, so that was cool. On just a touch of input, the hairstyle where you're wearing the dark green plaid shirt, shows up on video much better. As former TV director, editor, + wedding photog on Maui, that's just my personal 2¢ lol. Expecting a pen from y'all in today's mail, looking forward to snagging another one next month. Thanks again for the sneak peak.
Well, we did recently move offices so that part isn't exactly up-to-date, but it's still good to meet some of our employees from the video! Hoping to do an updated one sooner vs later. Thanks for the feedback! - Colin
just found your channel by accident few months ago; love your vids. you have inspired me to.get back into my fountain pen hobbie. my original pens that I collected in the late 80s were stolen in 1992. my first pen a Waterman, Parker duofold orge centennial, 3 Shaeffers I got in middle east. I currently have (all M nib) 2 Vanishing Points, Parker 51, Sheaffer Targa, 339 & Lifetime Montblanc 31
Mr. Goulet how did you start your company and do you have any college degrees. also, have you thought about opening a brick and mortar store in citys? if you ever do in Omaha,NE i would go in the store and buy your products.
1 - Brian we need that lurk in the secret room ! 2 - You let them practice more gym. 3 - The end part is perfect to follow you hair style evolution more than your weight one :D 4 - Amazing team.
The hand written thank you notes are by far my favorite! It always makes me feel like my purchases matter and that I'm working with people and not a "faceless" company. Also the little tootsie-pops are great too 😂
These outtakes are hilarious!!
Also, the gym is awesome! What a great company to work at!
Thanks for the support! What's better than a package of new fountain pens to try? A package of new fountain pens to try plus a tootsie pop! ;) - Colin
That is amazing that you guys still write a personalized handwritten note on each order
Snow goulet is bae

Your little babies are just beautiful.....thank you for sharing the wonderful your livelihood that you have worked so hard for. God is Perfect.
-Hal
+MyFloridaLife Neponset is looking good right now...
It's like the extras on a DVD boxset-very cool choice for 100, especially getting to see the whole crew! Nice to get a tour of the ranch, so to speak. :D
I'm glad you liked it! -Brian

Congratulations on reaching the 100th Episode. The pen cabinet is a great idea. Your team does an amazing job.
I never thought I'd do 100 of these! -Brian
This is a wonderful video. I’m extremely happy to give my business to Goulet Pens.
Thank you so much!! :) -Rachel
Thanks a lot for this video Brian!
Very nice (and big) team you have there!
Congratulations on the 100th episode!
Thanks! Yeah, and this wasn't everyone! -Brian
People are usually pretty appreciative of the tootsie pops. ;) Thanks for the support! - Colin
Can you do a writing test with that knitted fountain pen?
It wouldn't be pretty! ;)
What type of ink is best in THAT pen?
Best episode ever!
Write on! ✒️ ✒️
Write on indeed!! ✒️✒️✒️-Brian
LOL I use those Alex drawers for a lot of things and I have a total 13 of them in 3 sizes. My most recent one is 6-drawer like yours that I call the "glitter locker". It is completely full of vials and jars of glitter of different types and sizes. My mom said I have too much........
Congr8s `team Goulet' on your 100th...!!
Always wanted to see different sections of your company...!!
LOVE from India :)

Haha, oh yeah, I have to make sure my teeth are good :) Anna's a darling for sure! -Brian
This was awesome. Thanks Brian!
+Glassjaw003 And team!
I didn't realize you had so many employees or that the business was that large. Looks like a nice place you got running there. And its nice to see that you still do so much for the business.
Great thanks for the tour! You used the word 'super' like 8 times lol :)
Brian has a few verbal crutches, like we all do, but super is one of his. Mine is definitely! - Colin
- Colin
Yeah...Episode 100! Keep burning man! Love that "soft nib" joke by the way...
Haha, yes, but he pen has poor flow ;) -Brian

Hello, do you have a link where I can find the trays for the Alex drawers? Great Video BTW :-)
Thanks.
So the magical business secret to Goulet Pens is pretty underwhelming.... just good old fashioned doing everything right and proper.
Well, you didn't see the golden goose in the ink sample room... - Colin
