ਸਾਡੇ ਜਥੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਫਰਜ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਮਤਾ ਪਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਕੇ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸ਼ਕਣਾ, ਜੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤੇ ਪੰਜ ਬਾਣੀਆਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਨੀਆਂ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹੋਣ. ਰਹਿਰਾਸ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੋਏ, ਅਨਪੜ ਤੇ ਚਲੋ ਸੁਣ ਲਏ.. ਤੇ ਇਕ ਜਰੂਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸ਼ਕਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਓਹਨੂੰ ਸਾਲ ਹੋਗਿਆ ਹੋਏ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ,ਮੀਟ ਛੱਡੇ ਨੂ. ਇਹ ਨਈ ਕੇ ਰਾਤ ਨੂ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸ਼ਕਨ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਜਾਨ ਤੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੀ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਨੂ ਏਵੇ ਭੰਗ ਕਰੀ ਜਾਣ..ਜੇ ਏਵੇ ਚਲਦਾ ਰਿਆ ਫੇਰ ਜੋਧੇ ਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਹੋਣ ਇਹ ਆਸ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੋਕ..

This is the biggest problem in sikhi with our people. They think it’s easy to take amrit and then break it because they want fun or haven’t controlled the urges of lust or greed. I am not a gursikh but I want to become one with waheguru’s mehar one day. I am not worthy or ready to take such a pure gift such as Amrit yet I am still trying to read bani and keep a schedule of sikhi in my life but I yearn for waheguru. I have stopped alcohol slowly nothing was made in one day and something as great as Amrit should not be a joke! People need to respect the process and if you can’t don’t be in the saroop of guru maharaj.

Mr Maskeen is right in its own way. Usually amrit is forced upon the younger children by the parents. It is a part of the religious fervour. But these parents do not realise at that moment that these young ones may not abide by any sikhi rules in the latter life.

Yeah they do that but i guess the reason behind this is that seeds of sikhi can more effectively sprout in a kid rather than an adult and also the kid would be more deeply attached to the roots of our religion
