Shehzad ji, have you noticed one thing in most of the quality and intellectual programs including podcasts right from The Black Hole ,Syed Muzammil to yours on an average 70 to 80 % subscribers are from India. Why ??
If PPP/ pmnl.... repeat the pdm route....then I won't believe their stupidity/short sightedness!! The current economic situation won't just allow anyone to function towards a 'popular end'!!
To be very frank, the recent election and politics hasn't featured India in Pakistan. The main issues our people have are economics, centre-periphery dynamics and the various 'famines' we face. I'm speaking more from the PoV of the average voter
@@Suryanarayana-mx8mh I'll take your word for it as you're there. I think both of our nations' pivotal political argument has always been the colonial based centre vs periphery and that's where the democratic process eventually goes to rather than geopolitics.
Shehzad being from Karachi is biased towards the Bhuttos..... Good bad ugly ....Majority has the final say in Democracy... There is something called wisdom of crowds.....
Please take it from me... Pakistan hardly matters as far as Indian elections are concerned... some stray comments here and there about Pakistan doesn't mean Pakistan is an election issue.. It's the economy, political stability and freebies offered by political parties matter most...
Shehzad would like us to forget that just prior to election he was presenting PMLN, with full knowledge they are backed by establishment, as more pro-democratic than PTI. Now he reverses himself because it's clear PTI is the true democratic force of the major parties.
Brother, PTI agar largest mandate ly ker ai ha to govt form ker ly kis ne roka ha, ye aik hung parliament ha yahan sab k mandate ki respect honi chahey
Why is it that seats in rawalpindi, isl and chakwal were given to pmln Despite pti backed independants getting leads North of 30000 in the initial results but in alot of seats in central punjab pti was allowed to Win despite the gap not being greater than 5000 (which is not that much considering that both the candidates got more than 90000 votes). Even if the Plan was to give pmln no more than 70 seats why not rig seats where less rigging is needed. Also Hamid mir said in the morning that the RO sent Nawaz sharif's result around 11 30 on the election night and even in those results he was Winning comfortably then why was the result of his constituency delayed. Also, what did the muqtadira hoped to achieve through this Kind of a Mandate. Turn out in punjab has been around 45-50 percent so if they would have wanted, they should have been able to manage these elections comfortably.
I want to ask @tamkenat can we have someone like shehzad ghias representing Gujrat too? Of the same level. May or may not live here, but represent this area and do the same work on social media as shehzad's doing for Karachi.
In fact, I think all over Pakistan, in different important political or non political regions, there should be locals like you representing their own respective areas, doing podcasts and analysis etc. about their own local areas

MNS should have gracefully conceded to opposition. It could work to their advantage on multiple accounts. Any political party needs serious mandate given both the political and economic situation were in. And somebody needs to re-establish the role of opposition to end the my way or the high way politics. If PTI rents the small religious party that Bushra prefers, and eventually gets their symbol back they will still need an unholy alliance with PPP, which will be rocky as hell and would end up dissolved and PTI would again be pushing for elections to reign supreme, the ultimate fantasy. This is an assumption based on the style of governance and the person he is, he loves the rush of people voting and would be so happy if governance was more about people warming the streets for him than him delivering anything at all 😅 and I hope I am wrong. I place democracy paramount which makes me low key happy how people of Pakistan have rejected the politics of patronage. And the fact that MNS trying to recover with a little help from “friends” than the voter at large is no longer working for him. Notwithstanding that IK’s ascent to power corridors involved much vulgar pre and post poll rigging and character assassination of PMLN especially in their home base. That said, the one thing we need at this hour is stability and I really wish imran khan could rise up to the occasion and contribute to what is required outside of his personage. That only makes me perhaps understand the need for rigging. We need stability and that is not exactly a forte of the bustling majority backed, riling with populism PTI. Not to mention, they didn’t have performers in a much better time and place. The question that irks me is are we ready to let this fantastic show come full circle and let PTI have their right to govern when the country needs a a complicated clockwork of experience over service delivery, wisdom, agility and political acumen put together and not a manifestation of a fantastic friction that too is both necessary and imminent to possibly recover the lost space for civilian governance. I’m glad how things are going the latter way be it just a mere convergence of IK’s interest with democratic etiquette or a by product of IK self serving agendas. I truly hope also, that when given the mandate these young voters also keep a check on the voted and treat vote as means and not as an end. My biggest fear is this resounding majority giving him a nod to reigning supreme unaccountable and unchallenged by even his own voter.
*Your last line is what I fear as well. IMO, Imran has no solid economic vision/plan/acumen to lead Pakistan out of economic crisis and default. No one does, neither Sharifs nor Bhuttos. They just know how to create political stability, that too they learned after they signed 2006 charter of democracy. Anyways, if the majority wants Imran khan (Destruction of Pakistan via Imran Khan), then democracy says that it should happen*
I generally concur, my friend. There’s a lot of merit in this argument but when confronted with the question of soliciting support for PTI’s democratic right to exercise mandate over their vote, something leads me back to the destabilization project of 2018 that resulted in the encroachment of post Musharraf civilian political space, supplanting it with the hybrid regime. The question then arises, and in this I agree with STH’s assertion that the undoing of this project is not going to be a hunky dory, morally or judicially exemplary exercise. We need to ascertain whether we want a democracy that enables populist forces or we are willing to purge ourselves of the original sin of 2018 and the mutations arising out of it.

If you think imran have such strong following that people believe him so why not take advantage of this guy he have followers in all province why not utilise this for good
Shehzad, you don't have a right to celebrate anything. You have been attacking PTI for the past two years relentlessly as NOT being anti-establishment. You have been calling IK and PTI's popularity as exaggerated. Your whole show became an anti-PTI mouthpiece and apologia for PDM, until even the last podcast with Mustafa Nawaz. You ridiculed PTI supporters as cultish Youthia nonstop. Even in this 2024 election on Twitter, you are making ever effort at downplaying rigging claims and doing whataboutery. Now that your own analysis has been thoroughly discredited, please show some humility and reevaluate why you were so out of touch with the pulse of the Awam.
Imran Khan is not anti establishment, I was right about everything I said, unlike you I can separate every party voter from Imran Khans politics, and I can respect their vote, your worldview begins and ends with Imran Khan, attacking me and labelling me as a mouthpiece is shameful and should not warrant a response from me but since you’ve written 3 comments here, please step out of your cult bubble and consume more media, your worldview is shaped by propaganda - one day you will look back and be shameful of your behaviour. I am not downplaying rigging, I am giving an honest portrayal of what happened, you believe in PTI’s 2/3rd propaganda so you’re not willing to look at the facts. I can admit IK turned out to be more popular than I thought but still in areas I predicted. PTI was nowhere in Sindh and Balochistan still.
@ThePakistanExperience Shameful about what? I never abused you, I am very clear in my critique of your views on a political level. But let us go over you claim one by one. First, for the most part, you didnt differentiate prior to this election between IK and PTI as aparty as an anti-establishment force. You didnt want to even entertain the idea as you said PTI simply wants to jump in establishment lap. Second, where I have displayed a cultish mindset towards IK? I never claimed he was a saint and in fact PTI supporters are far more likely to have critiques of IK and senior leaders than other parties. You won't accept this though since you never want to give them credit. Lastly, you immediately want to accept these electoral results as only having odd rigging outliersand then move on, compared to your constant harping about the illegitimacy of 2018. Clear double standards. Indications of major PTI leads following by half day blackout and over 24 hours of trickling results apparently doesn't generate even mild skepticism for you of mass scale mandate stealing. We have tried to remind you again and again and again, you can critique PTI but at least have some basic objectivity to not ignore basic reality.
By the way, on Twitter your first claim was that there was low voter turnout and PMLN has the advantage. You reflexively took an anti-PTI position even tho it ignored reality. At least question your own judgement.
PPP/PLMN should keep away from the government and give the IND ie PTI to form govt. and soon enough people who have jerked into voting this way will come to know how big debacle it is as was at end of 3.5yrs again. Imran the Trump of the east will always be a liar and public manipulator.
As a neighbour, I don’t claim to know the nuances and subtleties of Pakistani politics, but one thing does seem obvious to us is that civilian supremacy is the biggest need of Pakistan. Until the military has veto powers over all your sectors, for which they are neither qualified nor experienced, they will only care for their own benefits, not the nation’s. And frankly, it doesn’t matter who’s the namesake head of state. I feel all major political parties should get together first for atleast a decade and explicitly mention that the alliance is to get the power back to the people’s hands. The army does have guns but not enough bullets for a united nation. Uske baad, gradual legislative changes must be made to dilute the military’s powers. Simultaneously , gradual change needs to be brought in people’s tarbiyat through education and public messaging that there are things required for survival and progress above guns, swords, martial race and “India humein kha jaega”. Trust me, this fear mongering has no basis. Every Indian accepts Pakistan’s sovereignty and has no intent to bring such massive Muslim population into India, though the same can’t be said about POK. Every discussion we have here on better relations with Pakistan ends with the unanswered question “But baat kissey kareinge?” Your civilian leaders shake hands, your army occupies Kargil and your “non-state” actors blast bombs. Say, what you might about the legitimacy of it all, but there’s a considerable number of people even in India that applaud the PTIs unprecedented defiance of the Military’s might. And the current results, show the Pakistanis are also waking up to these realities. I don’t know if people in Pakistan realise that it’s so strange for people around the world to see such frequent use of the word “establishment” and “Army chief”in the public discourses, things unique to Pakistan. Nevertheless, wishing progress and peace for the region.
*PTI Itself sat on establishment's lap to get in govt. These hypocrites can't be "pro-democratic", if they were, they would've rejected it back in 2018 and fought this "haqeeqi azadi" back then. I don't support them because of their hypocritical nature*
*You say that people around the world find it weird to hear establishment and Army Chief but this has been entrenched in Pakistan's DNA, Military Supremacy has been there for atleast 34 direct and 31 indirect years, initial 11 years were about grasping power vacuum left by Jinnah's Death. Military won and occupied that vacuum and entrenched this system in Pakistan's DNA. It would take another 75 years or so to reverse it all if all Pakistani politicians and public unite and decide today that we need a change*
Yes agreed and I understand that all major political have done the same (being in cahoots with the military) in various times in history. That is why, keeping differences aside, all major parties can form a temporary alliance to curb the unelected “establishment” . That’s the only solution I see TBH. Otherwise, the establishment will keep propping the other side in the next term to ensure their own hold. But that needs sacrifice of individual gains and that’s the biggest limiting factor. And maybe the job can be done in less than 75 years, if the changes are gradual and legislative, instead of violent. They hold monopoly on violence and will never let go.
@atulsingh9199 *Legislative changes take a lot of time in Pakistan, unlike India. 18th Amendment came after 63 years of independence. Politicians think of themselves and lack acumen. They think of the public as slaves and believe in family dynastic politics and pseudo-kingdomship models. Civilian supremacy in their hands would also be fatal*
@@shariqsalman92 I understand but I would still bet on a genuine democratic process over establishment rule because it’s a self correcting mechanism. Does take time but eventually it might work out. Atleast there’s a fear that they’ll be thrown out after 5 years if they don’t perform. I don’t vote for BJP but I can’t deny that a nobody (Modi) rose to the highest ranks unlike the dynastic Gandhi politics.
I don't like Pakistani "political experts" speaking English in Canadian / American accents. I am stopping to view the podcast now - and yes, I have an American accept.

SOON WITHIN FEW YEARS PAKISTAN IS GOING TO DIVIDED, WHETHER IK NIAZI COME IN POWER OR NOT , PAKISTAN WILL DECLINE FURTHER MORE. STAY IN YOUR HOME, AS THESE COMING YEARS IS NOT GOOD FOR "ANY BODY". ONLY PRAY FOR THE GOOD. I AM IN THE USA BUT I AM RIDING SAME BOAT, NO MATTER IN WHICH IN WHICH COUNTRY U IN. I LOST ALL INTEREST.
All independents won aren’t PTI backed. Mr. Zaidi isn’t aware that many of these candidates gave guarantees not to join hands with PTI. This was done to get permission to run for elections.
Ist Footprint of election irregularity is how many ballot papers were ordered/tendered/printed in a constituency, minus voted casted form 45 = remaining unused left. If there is a mismatch in number or variance in quality of printing then a probable pointer to irregularity. Giving such grace as might as may be in protocol of tendering or printing + - %age of ballot paper. Sagacity demands from imran Khan not always crave for batting/itekdar but learn how to field/sit in opposition and play constructive roles. Had he opted to sit in opposition after April 22 showdown. Pakistan has not faced challenges in such enormity. Also had he softened his stand in all party talk in May 2023 he might have skipped arrest/jail ordeals. Now also he should ask his party/independants to sit in opposition and not run after itekdar and gain great learning experience without hobnobbing with power politics. Best option and alternative for imran Khan and for that for Pakistan, though a bit costly, go for another poll after all by now/then he would be out of jail for fledged campaign +imran himself on driver seat.

No doubt PTI has got the mandate this time .
From India my only question is at present unprecedented situation whether IK is at all capable of running Pakistan .
But this can be a drawing room debate .
Well observed. Niazi was never & still isn't, a politician but a media- dull celebrity who by a mere "by-chance" win has been over projected as a hero. Rightly observed that this player indeed played, so far, with the Cypher, Toshakhana and Iddat and earned 10+10+7 years RI with additional 3 years that Niazi is enjoying with Desi Murghay cooked in Desi Ghee and exercising by-cycle/treadmill. Please think above personality crush/inclination and stop unwitting glamourizing this petty thief who has been pampered enough thru the SCP like-minded group besides LHC, ISC & PHC in a few cases. Have a heart! Think of and for Pakistan; not for yourself, your views, your rating and your podcasts. Hope JI have learnt their lesson that running horses on Karachi roads copying Ertuğrul drama may get you great views & claps but actually proves your worth in public - merely 2 PS seats in 130 MPAs.

We, Indians are quite happy to be left out of the pre election debate in Pakistan. We are not anxious to get into your political scenario.
To be very frank, the recent election and politics hasn't featured India in Pakistan. The main issues our people have are economics, centre-periphery dynamics and the various 'famines' we face. I'm speaking more from the PoV of the average voter

I wish we Pakistanies can say the same for your elections too. now Pakistan is focus of your media channels and election campaigns.
Actually, Pakistan does not figure in the conversation here usually.
But you know, TVs prosper on controversial statements.

Shehzad would like us to forget that just prior to election he was presenting PMLN, with full knowledge they are backed by establishment, as more pro-democratic than PTI. Now he reverses himself because it's clear PTI is the true democratic force of the major parties.
Army is like abhi ek dusray ka pakdo aur govt bannnao...😂😂😂 69 kaar diya of all parties.

All independents won aren’t PTI backed. Mr. Zaidi isn’t aware that many of these candidates gave guarantees not to join hands with PTI. This was done to get permission to run for elections.
You are still biased don’t pretend to be neutral you are not sure if pti is claiming false news about winning
