Testing your Aquarium's water parameters is one of the most important things we need to be doing as responsible fish keepers next to routine maintenance and feeding.
This test kit is essential to your long-term success in the hobby as well as the overall well being of your finned friends! The additional test tubes and holder are not completely necessary but are certainly a welcomed addition to the base test kit since the glass tubes will inevitably break from time to time. (Unless your extra careful!)
I've found that the test tube holder eliminates the chance of knocking over your test tubes and makes things much more streamlined.
BONUS TIP** It's easy to break test tubes when removing the caps after testing, so 1 more hint would be to run a little water over the test tube and cap before removing it. This helps it to slide off much easier, minimizing the chance of breakage.
The GH and KH test kit from API is VERY beneficial if you desire to keep snails, shrimp, or other invertebrates as they require very specific water parameters to thrive and live happily.

Good tip about running water over the test tubes post testing BEFORE trying to remove the caps. This will certainly help reduce test tube breaks

I bought and use a Turkey blaster for the same purpose. Cheap and effective.

Nitrates are food for plants. I wouldn't bother changing them unless they were hitting the red 160ppm. And that would tell you that you have an unbalanced tank that your system cannot deal with the excess that is building over time.
Better still add lots more stem plants. Floating plants are even better, reduce your feed and even move some of your fish if necessary to balance it out if you find you always have rising nitrates. It's the least of your worries and most commonly due to overfeeding an overstocked tank with understocked plants.
Do the above and try and settle the nitrate content over 10 to keep your plants happy and up to 40ppm and you will have a healthy balanced tank.
Hold your tubes up in front a white background, but not against it as stated in their manual, as you will get darker colours showing, giving you higher readings.

Nice video only would have appreciated it more if you included steps to take for each reading OUTSIDE of the normal range. (levels too high/low) But did enjoy the video pace. Thanks

I have an African cichlids aquarium, and my tap water has high KH, it appears not be a problem but it is in the high end of the spectrum. Any suggestion on how to lower it?

I just rinse them under warm water and leave upside down to dry with the little test tube holder.. (Rinse the lids out too)
