Strength/hypertrophy aside, the recovery benefits are worth it alone. I've switched to 30min of intense cardio every other day and feel it really helps to knock down DOMS from lifting
Because strength is not all about fast twitch muscle. I'm not a scientist or anything but I know from experience endurance = strength within reason obviously. I've put on extra reps on certain weights just from including running in my workouts here and there, which then directly increased my 10, 8, 5 etc rep maxes
I used to do alot of cardio years ago hit wall with lifting gains. I stopped cardio and for me all of a sudden I started getting massive strength gains. I guess to each their own.
@@TheBarbellBanditI warm up with skipping and some dynamic stretches before I weight train. I don’t get myself out of breath, I just do enough to make my body warm, loose and ready to go. So far, I’m fittest I’ve ever been and also strongest I’ve ever been and the strength gains are still coming. As long as cardio is not affecting your recovery, you can see gains from both
@@TheBarbellBanditin Hooper's program for muscle building je recommends 3x a week 8 rounds of 20s sprint and 10s pause. That sounds pretty intense form me having done it.
This is one of those "I wish I knew this when I started training" things.

Concurrent training is super powerful.
