I enjoyed every minute of this video! Apart from the subject matter, your filming was very professional, with thoughtful locations, smooth pans (only where necessary) and excellent careful use of zoom. Five stars!
This was the same time and era when Class 421 GIGs were also painted in Network SouthEast livery alongside the Class 411s on the South Eastern division only and are operated by Connex South Eastern until November 2003
Ah yes, they were something a bit special. Draughty, cold, smelly - but they could be brilliant. No computers to go wrong; if you had air and amps, then you went. Simple!
While they were ok for their day, much of their character was ripped out by chris green by taking out the curtains, repanelling the ceilings and putting in strip lights. I don't think the new trains are so bad at all. Very elegant in my opinion
Very professionally filmed video, brought back a lot of memories. I wish I had photographed more of the slam door stock back in the day.

Fantastic shots, nice and clear, steady and good locations. well done!
Beautiful trains, so comfortable and nowt to go wrong on them apart from a shoe fuse.
Superb collection of clips. Thank you for sharing them.

Gorgeous units, and interesting seeing staff comments too- they really did cope with pretty much anything. Much better than the 377s...
Brill vid. Those were the days - proper trains
Nice footage of my local area but 4 CIG/4BIG/4VEP not a patch on older 4COR/4BUF/6PUL/6PAN/4PUL. They did however survive for up to 40 years in 2007.
Thank you for using a tripod
Hey nice work!

No, SWT run an hourly service to Brighton. One hour a diesel from Reading the next hour an electric from Basingstoke.
now SWT service to Brighton got replaced by a GWR service from Brighton - Bristol Temple Meads
I miss these, even more so now the 377s have those cardboard seats.
hey kid your on youtube!!
