  • In this video how salt is made, we take a walk through the Cerebos salt factory to see How they make 100 tons of salt every day.
This modern factory produces 100 tons of salt every day, which is an enormous amount of salt to be manufacturing every day.
85% of the salt is sold in the shops and the remaining 15% is used in food service industries to make butter and other products.
This factory uses cutting edge methods and machinery to get the most efficient production possible.

I’m constructing similar plant. The final process from evaporator to packer is pretty much the same. We also approach concentrating the brine industrially instead of using traditional solar pond.

Great video !! this might be a dumb question but is it sustainable to farm salt?? Is water wasted during this process??

Adding synthetic jodine and free flowing (didn't understand) additive - that's called absolutely pure and clean?

Yes, good point Esther. I have an idea that it's mandatory by law to add iodine to salt, but I don't trust any of these large manufacturers either. They've been misleading (lying to) us for a long, loooong time.

So they sell the sea water also once its desalinatiated ?

Hi Billy, sorry to reply so late, I've just seen your post. Actually they do sell the desalinated water. It's a offshoot of the business and apparently quite profitable. Thanks for pointing this out.

Where can anyone get the whole process plant? Or consultancy regarding such a project?

How profitable is this business? ☺

    • @howitsmade5865

It's extremely profitable. They're making something out of a free product. The raw material costs nothing and they sell the final product. Very clever..

Do they make use of the steam energy to create electricity?

    • @howitsmade5865
      @howitsmade5865  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

The steam is passed through the centre of the Evaporation Vessel to heat the salt slurry inside the vessel to boiling point (116 degrees C)

They use saturated steam not superheated steam.

Hi Zaid, thanks for your comment, what's the difference between saturated and super heated steam?

Zaid brother how would I be able to get machinery like this for my country?

@@howitsmade5865 superheated steam is saturated steam that been heated again, superheated steam is very bad at heat exchange , it has high kinetic energy, thus it used in power plant to drive turbines , saturated steam is great at heat exchange, about 50 times than superheated steam, thus it is better suited to heat exchangers use , if superheated steam to be used at heating process, it is passed through a desuperheater, to remove the superheat and turned back to saturated steam ,
P.S if you take energy from saturated steam it will change phase back to condensate, at the same temperature, latent heat , superheated steam , will drop its temperature if losses energy.
