Stumbled across your channel by watching your episode with Adam the Woo. I grew up in Hickory and I am amazed at the transformation. I moved to Arizona 20 years ago and when I left Hickory, they were just starting to restore the downtown area. I recognized so many of the buildings. There was a Woolworth's, Spainhour's, and Angelo's shoes, where I would get fitted for my yearly pair of shoes. Bringing back so many memories. Thank you!
My mom worked uptown at Lindy's furniture in the 70s and 80s..I remember it so well...Sears use to be right across the street before Valley Hills mall was built...I haven't been uptown in a long time..It brings back old memories I miss so much..God bless.
At 24.23 in your video and you were wondering what the building was that was not there anymore that actually used to be a movie theater. Of course way back in the day early 1900’s not sure what it was!

I miss Hickory very much I remember when I was a kid being there for the festivals
Excellent video! We were there in December. Impressed with the city. Seriously considering moving there from our current state of Michigan.
Great location too. I-40 east go to the beach....west head to Tennessee. Go north on 321 to the mountains and south to Charlotte.
Beside the Carolina theater where the Wells Fargo building is used to be the hickory hotel and they tore it down and built the Wells Fargo building!
