I remember as a kid in the 80s you couldn’t watch any sitcom without there being an episode about how much the family hated when mom made meatloaf. Everyone would groan, “Not meatloaf AGAIN!” I love meatloaf. Other than liver I never complained about what mom or dad (he cooked too) would prepare for dinner.

Pot Roast and Meatloaf are both of my favorite meat dishes, along with Slow Cooker Beef Stew, yummy!

I will say, when I think of comfort food in my life and what I do make and eat to this day. Meatloaf by far is #1 on that list. #2 is Southern Pecan Pie.

Hmm, I've got some minced beef, a jar of smokey north African cooking sauce in the fridge and 3 long days at work coming up. I'm sure that I could bodge a tasty treat thanks to your inspiration.👍 PS, adding harissa paste and couscous makes it very "Moorish".

This was a great video, Weird History. Who knew meatloaf had such a interesting history? Personally, I prefer homemade. 😋 Could you one day do a video on Jack In The Box restaurants [there's a Jack In The Box Wiki that's really good, has tons on info on the chain's history], or maybe a video on Domino's Pizza [The Noid, while the most well-known of the Domino's mascots, is not the only one. Please talk about Donny Domino, as well as the Ollie Vs Domino's Pizza Inc lawsuit that spawned from him.]?

There's nothing like my mom's meatloaf! She used oats for filler, thyme, sage, Worcestershire sauce, diced onions and diced green peppers, and ketchup or barbecue sauce mixed with brown sugar for the topping. She made a gravy out of the drippings. This was back in the 1960's when I was a kid. I still make the meatloaf and gravy her way, but I put a little Southwest flavor in it: I use diced jalapenos instead of green pepper, and also add cumin, coriander, garlic, crumbled bacon, and a spicy, smoky barbecue topping. I may be comfortably retired, but I thank meatloaf for pulling me through some hungry times when I was 20-something. Pasta and sauce for dinner on work days and Saturdays, then meatloaf for Sunday dinner.
About scrapple - I love it!

Scrapple is delicious. Crispy meat hash brown. Also, it's a lot of work, but Cook's Country has the best meatloaf recipe ever.

I LOVE meatloaf!! So much so, I perfected my own version of it and everyone loves it. Ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar (with a little Worcestershire & Tabasco) makes the perfect glaze to pour on top

I enjoy a good meatloaf dinner once in awhile. Two thick slices served with a thick mushroom gravy on top of a bed of redskin mashed potatoes and some steamed broccoli or green beans as a side vegetable! 😋♥️😎👍
