Aw man, I miss Jason, he was so intense on the mic. This is one of the heaviest song they ever wrote. The tone of the guitars and drums aw man. They use Axe FX units these days and the guitars just don't sound as brutal
It's my favorite album of theirs as well. The songs, although complex, are very cohesive and meaningful. I even like the mixing, especially the drums. And James' anger is unmatched on AJFA.

Sometimes, you don't know how good you have it til its gone, we were so spoiled with James with his leadership & killer voice, Kirk was killing, Lars was on top of his game, & of course Jason!! Cliff was the building block & foundation of Metallica, Robert is so technically gifted, but Jason Newstead came into the band at the most vital time, & restored the heartbeat of it! It's been 22 years since he left, & I still miss you Jason, you gave us this beautiful music, we will be forever grateful

So Jason started the haircut trend in Metallica considering he was the first to cut the hair 🤔 he probably got sick of it with all the guff they gave him and bulllying 🤔 although James was very nice to Jason giving him the freedom to play whatever he wanted.
