- It's finally launch day for XDefiant and today, I wanted to pass along the details of a bunch of fixes and changes that have been made since the most recent server test session. What are your thoughts on these changes and for those that have been able to play so far, what are your initial impressions?

Ubisoft is so incompetent in making multiplayer games that they don't know HOW to implement SBMM. They still haven't figured it out for R6, no way they would figure it out for this.
It's fun seeing people experience their first Ubisoft Multiplayer game.

Has anyone noticed the TTK being super inconsistent? Both with how fast it feels like you die vs how long it takes to get a kill, as well as kill to kill variation seem very inconsistent to me.

Absolutely. I get instantly melted yet my gun takes like 8 fucking shots to kill someone.
Massive D-sync, and hit-reg is off the charts atm.
Anyone still having issues where it takes a full magazine to kill a guy, but you die almost instantly?
Yep, this has been something they've promised as a top priority fix for 2 years now. (It's never been fixed.)

I have been so excited to play this game I took time off work to be on at launch. And not surprising it doesn't work. I can't find a match and I've been trying for the last 2 hours. Kind of a disappointing start to my experience with this game

The matchmaking system issue is due to the Ubisoft Connect integration combined with server congestion

I definitely think some balancing is needed, specifically with how the “hero-shooter” elements contribute to the gameplay. I think the Cleaner’s passive ability is unfair in its current state. Every other ability has some sort of counter, play or downside that actually makes them balanced, but the range debuff that comes with the passive only really matters for SMGs and shotguns. Having every bullet of a an assault rifle do significant damage over time is not fun and it just leads to more kill trades where you outplay your opponent with good shot placement and evasive movement, make it out with 10 health, and then die a second later due to a passive ability of a dead player. I think there are a lot of ways that this could be balanced better. For example, you could keep it exactly how it is but make it so that the cleaner class does not take enemy fire damage. That way, cleaners on opposite teams would not be able to damage each other with their fire abilities and it would essentially nullify a lot of their pressure allowing you to full counter at the expense of being full countered yourself. Another suggestion would be to make it harder to hit your shots with incendiaries, creating more of a skill gap between the ability users. A good way to implement This would be to make it so the the cleaners incendiary rounds are projectiles instead of hit scan. Even just a little bit of travel time would make it a lot more balanced in my opinion. Finally, they could also make it so that not every bullet in your magazine is incendiary. It could be that the first few rounds in your magazine are incendiary. Or even that they’re more scattered throughout the magazine with an incendiary round every 2 or four bullets depending on the weapon.
Roughly 3 hours after launch I started finding matches more consistently, by hour 4 I was getting into back to back games. Game feels amazing, there's some stuff thats gonna take some getting used to but the core game itself is good again.
Lucky took me 5 hours only for netcode to be dog trash & my shots don't register & I die behind walls & go up against the same gun but mine does no damage but theirs completely one hit kill me lmao, people are complaining about this very same thing all over Twitter as well as on this video as well.
Just wondering if there are any accessibility features, I know Ubisoft has been trying some accessibility attempts over the years, things like a screen reader in assassin's Creed Valhalla for example. Just curious, thought of trying this game myself but if the audio isn't good enough or if there's no accessibility then I'm not sure I will
I just checked for you and there is a menu narration feature in the Language and Accessibility settings menu! Footsteps are also quite audible
I’m very interested in why, given what I thought was their philosophy on player movement, they have things that are effectively tap strafing in the game
So far seems solid, netcode is still frustrating. I'm dying way behind cover and sometimes killing people I cant see anymore. Quite a few instances of getting hit markers and the enemy lost 0 or a small amount of life at the death screen. It's gotten way better then the original insider session I played on but it still has a way to go to even catch it up with CoDs terrible netcode.
The core gameplay is great so I'm willing to give them a shot to see if they fix it.
From playing, it really appears and feels like sniper flinch was nerfed while down sight. I noticed the scope bounces more when shot now. To me, it didn't feel like point and shoot any longer when being shot at.
At least I know I'm not missing anything since everyone else can't play either while I'm at work. Cool. Hopefully it gets fixed by the time my shift ends.
After the first couple hours of only a few games. Staying in the lobby I was able to get games back to back.
Best controller settings to dial in best (cod) movement. Please :)
Are there no camos for weapons apart from bronze silver and gold?
so i tried playing xdefiant today, matched into a "payload" style of mode where you need to push an objective through 3 checkpoints, i was on the attacking side and the enemies decided to run all phantoms with 4 shields and a mmr, they were literally shooting fishes in a barrel because theres nothing we could do about the shields and the shields stopped our bullets, not their bullets, did i also mention theres also echelon players with invisibility and snipers stay at the back of the map and snipe people too?
I had no major (although a bit slow) matchmaking problems playing during the Open Beta almost an entire year ago, but so far I've only been able to play a single game since the game officially launched...
Is there a hardcore type mode?
I managed to jump in on the "Welcome Playlist" with the SBMM for those under level 25... The NetCode still feels like it needs a bit more of a tweak, and the TTK could do with shortening slightly. Otherwise, it's pretty smooth and responsive on the controls, and graphically colourful and vibrant. The one thing that stood out the most was players aiming for objectives. That makes a refreshing change from the other game... It's a fun game and I'm looking forward to seeing what they have planned for it! 😎

I had zero launch issues which is weird. Instant matches under 2m wait. Always full. Was this changed like half way in the day I played in the afternoon
I was looking forward to playing this after work today. Guess it isn't gonna happen.
I didnt play any of the betas, so nothing to compare it to except for my experience with CoD. I played a bit last night. Overall, I'm enjoying it. Movement takes a bit to get used to. But I really enjoy the lack of launchers, riot shields and kill streaks. Just simple, easy 6v6. Takes forever to level up however, I'm treating it like a beta and trying everything so not making much progress. But overall feeling hopeful about this game. My one main concern though us that it's a free game which hackers love, as there's no risk for them.
Every match is a CDL tournament already what will be the reason for decreasing playercount
from the point where it got delayed and they said they have issues months ago i already was guessing this aint going nowhere.

Is it a good thing or bad thing that the servers are down? It’s good if the overwhelming amount of people hopped on. Bad news if their servers are already unstable.

In terms of gameplay, is this more or less just COD 6v6, or are there some unique features that significantly set this game apart? I'm happy that they omitted SBMM, but since 6v6 COD isn't really my bag, I'm trying to determine what about xdefiant might appeal to me.
It’s very similar to 6v6 CoD, without killstreaks but it has specialist abilities. The one way I see it differentiating itself is that there are some game modes that are more “progress based” like escort that take place on maps specifically made for that mode but it’s still 6v6. I’m sure they will be adding more modes in the future but I assume 6v6 will be the primary experience

Played tonight many games on escort mode, pretty decent tbf , games not perfect but it’s decent worth giving it time

Anyone taking about matchmaking.
That was to be expected for the release. People took off work to play at the drop. Remember overwatch 2s drop. An established game but on release there was 50k(I think some people got 100k+, it was just 50k for me over and over, and it would crash and start again) in queue and you had to watch the number go down😂 it's common for servers to get flooded. Should be expected.
As for net code, its spotty. Better than the most recent play test tho.
It feels great for a while, people actually die in 7 or 8 bullets.
And then it starts making me empty my clip for a kill....
So many times I had to use half my mag on 1 person when it was unnecessary..
Makes it IMPOSSIBLE if you run into 2 people, no time for all those bullets to register.
I know I can walk up behind 3 people and drop them all with a mag and barely miss...
But not when the server is screwey, I start shooting 1 guy and they all 3 turn around 😂😂😂
I'm still hoping it's just because it's the first day and super busy.
And I have faith they will update this already incredible game and make it near perfect.
I got to level 30 in 12 hours . I think like 6-7 hours playtime.
This is the cod replacement I've needed. Just senseless killing, win or lose. This is where I can zone out for hours and never think about it.... just keep shooting and dying..

i have this little thing with ubi's FPS, gunplay feels a bit weird (ofc coming from other offerings in the arcade style fps genre) clunky to some degree, but i have to try xdefiant to see if they stepped up their game or it's a pass.

The fact that Xbox forces us to disable crossplay on a system level is rediculous. Also, the information about crossplay and input based matchmaking being on or off at the bottom of the screens is incorrect.

I haven’t had any problems getting into a game. I have had the game crash twice though. Other than that pretty damn fun.

Servers are getting maxed out with the load of players trying to get in. The couple of games I've played were really smooth, though. Connection feels good once you get through the current matchmaking bottleneck

I love how everyone is shocked and surprised that the launch is terrible. This must be your first Ubisoft game.
You have to wait for Operation Health and several years of operation before the game is playable.

The game is really good!
Aiming on mouse feels floaty AF. It just doesn't feel right and I've adjusted the multiplier, changed the FOV and ADS settings, etc. I can still kill, but the feel is off for me and I'm not enjoying it cos of that.
Things I've done that made it slightly better: turned off Nvidia Instant Replay, V-Sync off, Nvidia Reflex on, Fullscreen or Borderless Fullscreen, etc.
Why they are not making this game for last gen console 😢

NetCode is one of the more OP things in online shooters
I probably sound salty at this point (coz I am, I suppose), but still no proper ADS sensitivity settings is such a turnoff. It makes anything between 1x and a sniper scope basically unusable for M&K (and maybe controller, dunno; not my preferred input).

Man the comments about servers, i feel bad for those guys, for me game been up since 1500 pt and net code is still a problem here and there. Funny you say weapon balance wasnt done cause my shotties aint cuttin it. Since i only play dom (cause no tdm is a thing) i feel like garbage sticking to a shotguns range limits and therefore get 4-15 kills. Gettin xp for my guns is a sludge cause i dont think capturing flags awards weapon xp and capture kills dont exist, it’s purely kills and its slow. This is an assault rifle and smg game with map layout being open from cover to cover and spawn kills are even worse feeling when all i got is a shotty and a pistol whose damage ranges wont tickle the guy lookin at me. Its a good game in there somewhere just gotta fix it up and play it.
Controller aiming still feels pretty bad. I've never had to change so many settings in my life to try and get a game to feel right.

I'm always getting shot in the back on Xbox. It don't feel like I should
been able to play for an hour yeasterday (Central Europe) and must say, not quite the CoD killer. Although, game is fun, feels kind of like Dirty bomb (if there even is anybody that played or remembers the game). The game also feels a bit janky (playing in xbox). I mean at krást we have some decent multiplayer fps besides CoD (on console) that is not either hardcore or some weird mashup of things

Hit detection feels off in this. I assumed my horrible internet or just Alpha things when I played years ago. Call of Duty has this problem, but I've watched a few clips from yesterday alone where my sights are on target, but just don't deal damage.
I played right when it launched at 10am. The server was fine but the TTK is horrible vs TTD. I feel like I mag dump people and they turn and burn me.
