John it’s crazy on how you find sheds!!! I shed hunt our 60 acres in Wisconsin every year and haven’t found a shed since 2015. I spend hours and put on a lot of miles just grid searching!! And all you have to do is drive your truck around 😂😂😂
Hi John, really fun video and looking forward to part 2. I am going to give you a bit of a hard time and advice because I want you to stop apologizing about putting family and work ahead of our shared passion for hunting. Most all of your subscribers I am sure would agree with me and before you know it you will be able to share your hunting passion with them and that will take it to a whole nuther level. I have been blessed to hunt with both my dad and my son as well as my wife and I consider it all a great privilege of life.
Totally agree about the logged areas. I’m in NH & 2 years of no acorns! I have been finding deer during hunting season & Sheds this year(most shed early here this year). 3-5 year old cuts seem to be the best.
Awesome video John! There aren’t many people with a shed to mile ratio like yours! Lol. It’s amaiznng what a little logging does for a property! Can’t wait for part two!
I hunted a big 10 Point all year in pa. And I found his shed January 1st this year. I didn’t really no what to take of that. I was super happy to find it. But I new it couldn’t be good. It was when we got that negative degree weather around Christmas
In KY this year, like a lot of other states, the bucks started dropping early! I started noticing bucks dropping back in mid December! Usually in my area it's not until mid to late January. Had two nice bucks spare back in late October and they each lost an antler, each lost the opposite side of antler. One was a big deer, had pics of him all the way back in June. Crazy!
Hi there long time no see. I am a mushroom forager, which is why I would follow your morel hunting. I miss them, aren't you doing it anymore? Wish you would. By the way what do you do with the antlers? Take care, it is fun coming across you again
It's been tough trying to find the time to get out and make videos. It takes alot of time to make good videos. I will keep the antlers for show peices at camp and use for decoration.
Nice sheds! Looks like a good area up there. I think logged areas or areas with lots of blowdowns are great because it opens up the canopy and allows for lots of understory growth for food and cover during winter and fall, summer bucks tend to like the opposite, mature timber with less thick brush and more cool airflow so they don’t shred the velvet on their antlers, that’s my theory. Looks like you have a great property!
@@Leatherwoodoutdoors2 good to know. My minds wanders as I get older. Thought I missed a month .lol. I'm in pretty rough shape in my mid 50s from driving truck my whole life but I look for white gold as much as I can. I average 60 to 80 miles a year, 99% of what I find are public land in PA. I get more excited finding bone than actually hunting unless I'm in a blond with my young daughter, which is a great hunter, she just says she loves spending time with dad. Keep filming, love seeing the excitement
Be ready for part 2! You won't want to miss it! Be sure to subscribe!

Great video. How many acres is your camp property? Seems amazing and large!
It's around 275. 1/3 of it is field.
Bring on part 2 ! Are you selling those hats anywhere ? Love to grab one 👍
We plan to create a hat store before next deer season I'd all goes well. Thanks!

Turkey hunts this year?
Penn'swoods turkey hunts?
Do plan to turkey hunt this season.
Don’t shoot them. Let them grow and shoot a doe 🤷♂️
Use a drone.
