It's really surprising how comfortable it is despite all media saying it is really bad. Well i guess now we know the truth at the very least😅

I mean, it being comfortable doesn't mean it's good. It's unreliable, can barely operates short services without issues and have had a myriad of QC issues. The ride quality is mediocre to awful and second class is a lot worse than this

I noticed, that there is quite a delay, before the doors opens. Hope there is no such delay on brakes.
Should not have used Chinese processors.

This is so sad to see. When Siemens and other Manufacturers entered the Chinese Market, they only saw the short term gains. But the Chinese trading practices force every foreign compay to form joint ventures with local companies and there is a rule of mandatory technology transfer. So they sold quite a few trains, but they also gave away decades of research to be stolen by their local partners, only for them to become competitors on the global market down the road. Skipping decades and billions of R&D simply by China forcing foreign investors to hand over the tech. This happened in all industries and markets and it has and continues to kill off smaller technology leaders that dared to enter the Chinese Market.
It's even so bad, that back at Uni (studied at a German University of Technology), Chinese students really struggled to find places for their mandatory internships, because so many companies have stopped accepting chinese interns for fear (and/or past experience) of industrial espionage.
Meanwhile, when China is developing infrastructure in Africa, all is done by chinese workers that live in sealed camps and are forbidden from interacting with locals. Not much knowledge transfer there... But nobody said the rules you apply to others, should also apply to yourself. Smart egoism always wins over fairness and principles.

What about the recent CR400AF-S order to AST Alstom Sifang, and Siemens is still benefiting from the latest product, such as the VVVF inverter, from its cooperation with Zongheng? Both China and South Korea have gone through the process of importing high speed trains, reversing R&D to design and manufacture them in-house. If you think there are IP problems with Chinese products, why hasn't the Indonesian KCIC400AF been sued by the likes of Siemens and Alstom, and why are these international giants still supplying key components to CRRC and co.? You really know very little about the rail industry, and you haven't even visited the site even as a passenger.

Your statements do contradigt eachother quite heavily though. First you mentioned the short term egotistically driven descicions of european manufacturers to make profits in the Chinese Market as the main reason China was able to gain so much technological knowledge and then you state that egotism always wins? No it obviously doesnt. Short sighted egotism which capitalism seems to fuel does lead to bad outcomes. China on the other hand, is not as invincible as you would be lead to believe. They have a lot of their verry own problems and general trust issues are part of that. The problem again however will be the capitalistic short term gain driven approach of the west ignoring this and still making themselves dependent on chinese products. So egotism is more the problem, then the solution.

No they're not. I've tried it. The soundproofing and ride quality is subpar to say the least and if you're over 1,8m (or 6 feet) the second class seats are unusable. I'm 1,9,m and my whole head was above the top of the seat. The first class is good, but the seats are smaller than other first class products in Czechia.

In other trip report videos of this train most commenters are from China and they repeat that the train is lowcost because the train was ordered in such configuration and they blame bad infrastructure in Czechia...
Well, the infrastructure on this particular line is used for a regional trains with a 2 hour interval and freight trains. So it's not a priority to modernize this railway for speeds up to 160 km/h that it could handle because there are more important lines that needs reconstructing first such as Plzeň - České Budějovice or Praha-Brno southern line.
That's why the Sirius was put into operation on this line in the first place. Because it's one of, if not the least important route Regiojet operates... so any potential failures wouldn't be so dramatic. Also other Regiojet trains hauled by a loco behave "normally" - no weird sounds from the undercarriage, etc.

Suffice to say, these are horrible trainsets and last thing Europe needs is an influx of cheap Chinese trains.
