Pizza for Eggs (2005) All work belongs to Underworld. 1. Food a Ready 2. Back in the Fears 3. Vanilla Monkey 4. Flatz 5. Ancient Phat Farm Coat 6. Play Pig www.underworldlive.com
9:09....take us to Bristol. Massive Attack and Tricky style..nice. This whole group of recordings is SUPREME! The "I'm a Big Sister......." sections being my favorite anything ever.
I remember listening to this in my friends ride on the way home and couldn't figure out who we were jamming too, so I asked and he said Underworld...I was instantly like "of course".
This playlist has a lot of them: th-cam.com/play/PLGuXxhdkw-jIDKQ1MQhiR2n_tnpNLIARf.html&si=A2_utn36CIGIJGcX There’s also an extended version of Back in the Fears: th-cam.com/video/YCWNSRfOQZ4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=xOZTEN08kyKkwlvn And an extended Food A Ready: th-cam.com/video/h80dW6LHfXM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8SRewL85PMkVstdC A super-extended Ancient Phat Farm Coat: th-cam.com/video/42EVvYtuIuc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Iqk5nozzxgq_p40R An extended Play Pig: th-cam.com/video/oS_30NwGaVo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OrgzHt_4vz9xh29t And finally, Vanilla Monkey: th-cam.com/video/xI0Qk-Xwcj8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0P7lt2zAf8Q7AYwU As for Flatz, I don’t know what they were thinking listing that as a distinct segment, because it’s basically just a 30-second transition! Funnily enough though they did occasionally feature an ‘extended’ (lol) version in their live sets.
Yeah I think you're pretty much spot on, it's the very short twinkly section starting at roughly 12:37, basically just a glorified segue between "Vanilla Monkey" and "Ancient Phat Farm Coat". I think they have performed longer versions of the "track" live - if it even warrants the descriptor "track", haha 😅 - though I can't recall any particular instances at the moment. _Kinda_ sorts vaguely similar to "Witness" from "Lovely Broken Thing", but that at least lasts longer than a minute and is a coda rather than an ostensible track in itself. Honestly I don't know why they bothered, they could've just treated that section as part of "Vanilla Monkey"... the fact they didn't perhaps implies the existence of a fully-fledged standalone studio rendition of "Flatz" lurking on a discarded hard drive in a dilapidated box in Rick's basement. One of the countless alluring mysteries of Underworld, along with others like why was that mix of "Cowgirl" called the "Winjer" mix, and what was its connection to the later track "Winjer", or why do several of their song titles end in "Peal", or why on Earth neither "Bamboo" nor "5 Foot" ever had a proper release! 😅
Underworld never had one weak tune Never ever I really think they are not appreciated enough People adore shit acts like Radiohead or the Cure but fail to see true treasures
@d R you are absolutely correct and I must apologise for using rather strong language. I was a little drunk would be my guess. First half of Kid A is fun to listen to but it gets classic radiohead towards the end. Never listened to Hail to the Thief tho, thanks for the tip. Radiohead's main problem is the lack of any originality imo. PS: bruce Lee is not that bad actually
@@kotidzeLack of originality? Odd thought. I guess they do use electricity & instruments - & I agree that's a bit tired & overdone - otherwise I don't see it...

I don't remember this being released?!
It was a web only release, many years ago
So, just where is "Flatz" here? Is it that part that sounds like a kalimba and lasts less than a minute?
