I believe the devs made this zone more wasteland in one of the later alphas, but would have been cool if they put some awesome loot or a POI to explore but you had to have the RAD suit, like Darkness Falls. Thank you for watching and don’t forget to leave a like, it really does help!!!
They just got rid of it completely mountains and water border the map. And on my old console map i had half a town in the zone ig thats a way to loot pois in it
Nah we used to have a rad meeter and gage with the meds to either sooth the effects until it was passed or to cure however ttg not the fun pimps kinda screwed us on it so you always take damage unless in creative
Since the RAD zone bordered the Wasterland the most, it would have been cool to find unexploded nuclear bombs in the Wasteland that if detonated, cause the RAD zone to increase in size, affecting the Zs in that area of Rads.
I believe the RAD suit was part of a PC port to the console some years back, there are irradiated zeds in the PC version that cause RAD damage so the RAD suit was the only real way to survive an attack from these zed types!
Great video! The only time I ventured more than a few footsteps into the zone was on a minibike by accident. Had no idea what happened until I spawned back at my base. Trying to rescue a minibike full of loot from that place was quite a challenge. Plopped a bedroll at the edge and died more than 10 times retrieving my stuff and the bike. Good times.
I wish we could create a custom map in 7DTD. I would have a radiation center with main city in which you could only survive a few hours without hazmat suit and all zombies would be radiated and run in that area. Then you would have a wasteland circling that area with normal wasteland attributes from the game but would also require a hazmat suit but you could survive short term(maybe a day or two) without one. Next would be burnt forest circling the wasteland followed by each of the other biomes each randomly past that.
I tried exploring as well with the current map. It has the towns in the bottom right and left in radiation so there is just the Plains, Forrest and Wasteland towns so I decided to see if the map was right and it was a good thing I watched this video. I put on all the hazmat gear and had a bunch of first aid kits and it took a little while to get the rhythm down but I finally got it. The zone would cause 70 damage every 5-7 seconds but I was able to explore where the town was supposed to located but upsettingly, there was nothing there but radiation land. It would have been nearly impossible to explore it with the amount of damage I was taking but yeah, there was nothing there so only 3 towns to explore and no reason at all to be in the radiation zone.
My friend and I drove into it by mistale and lost a ton of good stuff. We got back over had to built a bunker to keep dogs etc off our back. Then took over 30 med kits to get our bike and equipment back 😂
This is why I'm watching this video again, I lost my minibike and lots of loot and want to get it back. I tried without suit but couldn't get meds in fast enough.
so i also play console and i found just make a 2 block flat spot instead of a 1 spot for them to jump up and place a camp fire and turn it on they all just walk over the top and pause before jumping up and light themselves on fire easily but i haven't tested it much i have never seen a video with anyone using campfires to light zombies on fire....
I usually build my base northwest of the D in desert. In the old mine. Its close to both wasteland for loot, and plain for dirt/cotton. While also being in an easy to dig biome with plenty of shale for fuel.
I would love it if there was a massive military base in the radiation zone that you have to search or a Quarantined city and you have special enemies there and have to patch your rad suit if it gets damaged
Oh hell, I loved the Plains...I wish we had more biome diversity in the current 7dtd now that you have progressive loot stages... making me want to intall a15 again
on random gen it just expands infinitely without stop, i got out to around the 40k mark wise of coordinates and it still just went on. btw the hazmat suit doesn't help whatsoever.

It is supposed to be a map border to keep people from crossing and help the servers not to have to generate more than can be explored.. All it does is create curiosity.
The radiation zone exists on every map, it was an intentional part of the maps, it's primary purpose was to stop maps from being generated too large as some PC's and consoles can't/couldn't handle such large randomly generated areas. This was a similar idea incorporated by games such as Minecraft, ARK survival, RUST and DayZ. These games have invisible walls rather than impassable radioactive zones.
Thanks, also had this curiosity, mainly for having the anti radiation clothing ... It's a disappointment unfortunately, it was fascinating to have any kind of secrets in this zone... Imagine entering a new map as you go through the radiation... 🎉
@@Spartan85 Apparently endless. I even had to stop and make a bridge using wood frames at one point. The landscape is there, the ground is basic wasteland, but void of everything else. Makes you wonder why they allowed the map to continue to extreme distances unless they had grand ambitions to allow maps to be that big at some point.

Something you could maybe test is combining all the radiation gear in the workbench to get max 600 lvl, keep your wellness at 100, and see how much HP the first hit of radiation takes away. Like actually measure it.
@@Spartan85 I might do it too haha. I’m curious now. Measure the difference in the damage you take on the first hit in a max 600 suit compared to a 100-200 suit. You probably know this already, but if you search an item in the creative menu you’ll get a different level each time you refresh the search 👍 So you can easily find lower level radiation gear.
You mentioned the trader & the way it throws you out…. Do you or anyone reading know how to fix this? My trader is doing this ( only happens to the starter one, the one with the bench & mixer ). Please and TY
So it does it between the hours of 10pm and 6am, if it’s throwing you out other times when it’s supposed to be open then it’s a bug and I have no idea how to fix that other than starting a new world. Happened in my John Wick 2 series

I tried it once in a random gen world in creative and it just goes on forever. At some point I was so far that my marker got out of the map. Just an empty endless wasteland 😂
So, does Hazmat Suit work without any add-ons to the game? Unfortunately I don't speak English so I didn't quite understand what was said in the video. And if there is a mod that allows us to survive in the deadly radiation field, can you give me a link to download it?

Unfortunately that's not going to happen. There was information leaked about the Xbox One and PS4 versions getting an Alpha16 update, but this has since been brushed uner the carpet. With a new company on board, which i believe may be Microsoft or other big company, they are more dead-set on releasing a new version for Xbox X/S and PS5 that runs parallel with the PC version. This was supposed to be the proposed plan of action once 7dtd hit gold status which i believe has now happened or is on the brink of it. The rumour of a final update for the older consoles was brought about due to a marketing error, if you own a hardcopy of 7dtd on console the box states electricty and turrets, this never happened in the retail copy that was launched for sale. The hope for an update then is a non-starter.

You are most likely correct! I think they may have had more planned for it too such as like what darkness falls does but it never came to fruition

You shoulve spawmed in all lvl 600 rad suit pieces to get better endgame representation of how protected you can get from it
