A few things I noticed, the first is to use the challenges tab and read some of the descriptions. I learned a lot of tips this way. When riding a bike (I'm assuming this will be for all vehicles as well) the camera and turning were set as default to the right thumb stick. By clicking it in (R3) you can change the turning to left stick and camera to the right. This allows you to have an easier time looking around while driving. Great video as always!

one tip i’ve learned after trial and error: once you encounter your first blood moon, pay close attention to where the zombies attack your base from. being a legacy player and jumping to this version, I tried to pay attention to where my base’s weak points were - and improve there. Best of luck to everyone (:
As some other guy put it “the zombies are structural engineers” they can seek a weak point in any building giving you direct feedback on how to improve your base
7:34 Your food and water levels are still under the character tab, you just need to click the icons just under your name for other stats. There's actually a number of other stats available but what's most important for me was having an accurate level of my food/water. Which started to allow me to make more educated decisions for my early game food/water management. I figured this out last night, having finally been able to sink some hours into the game. It was during a zombie filled night, where for my own safety I decided to hunker down in a building I had cleared, and acquainted myself with the new menus while I waited for daylight. I'm a legacy console player that's jumping back in and I can definitely say I'm loving the improvements. There's some quality of life things they can possibly add, but overall I'm enjoying my time with the game.
Thank you! I didn't know how to pick up my work stations lol or how to go to advance on with building block. Doing my first horde today with friends nd don't have a base yet 😅
Ive been playing this game since A14. Best imo was still A16-A19. They made what used to be a very open experience into a linear progression based RNG game. They should have just released that as the first game, and have this be a second game.
A good way to handle expeditions is to get 2-3 Dew collectors so you have too much water, then take steroids Steroids allow you to not become encumbered for a long time but they drain 40 water (steroids also give +10% movement speed) The buff lasts quite a while and it’s good to take advantage of the item early game if you are smart enough (It can also be helpful later for moving gear to a new base in bulk)
You could jst hit the Map button and head for the coloured spots(white being phosphorous, light blue being lead - you can work out the rest without being level 132)
Will you do a video on the learn by looting system? Specifically what skills govern the perk books. For example perking into Agility will let you find more Great Heist and Urban Combat perk books. But I don’t know about the other ones like Wasteland Treasures and the hunting series.
Had a lot of fun on the legacy version last year for hours and hours, it was due to the splitscreen which combined with a survival game where you can build stuff and DIG, give it the potential to be the best of his genre. Now they took it off, still a great game and sure there is online. But for me it is a completely different game in terms of experience, even with the old version being older than my grandma with trash graphics and lack of new content 🤣
Thanks I was just typing in the comments where are the glass jars? :) ... but you answered that one. Couple of questions. 1) I always seem to be getting infected at the moment ... but so far never find any honey from tree stumps, or able to afford antibiotics from the vendor. Is there a way to manage the infection? 2) Dew traps - do they attract Zombies and need protecting? I set up a base in old house. Knocked out windows, secured doors etc and took over the attic. First couple of nights no issues. Then set up a dew trap outside in the front garden, that night got raided by a load of Zombies with another mini horde outside. My fault, I didn't take out steps and make it difficult, so once they bashed down the doors they were in. But it wasn't until I installed the dew trap that I seemed to attract them.
@@Fallenlords1969 you can find honey, herbal antibiotics or antibiotics to treat the infection from anywhere but if you cannot find nothing it maybe you have incredibly bad luck, it happens to everyone trust me. Dew collectors generate "heat" so that may make more hordes come to your base so you should build traps around it to keep it safer as with the removal of jars it is your biggest priority or should be
To answer your questions quickly: 1. Infections are hard to treat. Honey only has ~25% chance to be collected from stumps. 2. Dew collectors and other crafting tables in use attract screamer zombies that spawn hordes to attack you. Longer answers with detail: 1. The best way to manage infections is just to not get hit. Getting hit has a chance for a critical injury such as sprains or broken legs, infections, abrasions, etc. While most armor has some degree at critical injury protection, not getting hit will guarantee no infection. To treat an infection, honey and antibiotics are the only option. As you have already said, antibiotics are expensive, and honey unfortunately only has a chance of about 25% or even less when harvesting it from stumps. 2. Any object that produces items, makes noise, or creates light generates "heat." Higher heat levels mean the chances of screamers spawning. Screamers go to the source of the noise, and if they find you (even without seeing you, like they heard you), they will scream and attack you with a horde of zombies. Within the spawned horde, there is a chance for another screamer to spawn and potentially create a loop of horde spawns. Unfortunately, generating heat is easy. Crafting tables like forges, workstations, cementn mixers, dew collectors, etc will generate heat whenever they are working and make something. Light sources like torches generate heat. Shooting your guns generate heat, even with a silencer (though it will generate less heat if you use one). Thankfully, the heat goes down over time when nothing is active. My best suggestion is to keep your dew collectors elevated on secure platforms and to listen for screamers before they find you (as they make unique grunt sounds), then quickly take care of them before they scream and spawn a horde. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask. I also have a TH-camr to suggest known as IZPrebuilt who does let's play of this game and taught me many things.
@@frozenburst6463 Thanks for the info. Got some honey in the end :). As for the dew collector, you hit it right on the nose. I had at least two screamers and everything just went mad after that. Felt like a mini horde night. And I wasn't prepared at all. Will move my dew collector :). Again, thanks for the info and the recommendation.
One thing I have noticed you not doing is sprinting/boosting while driving the mini bike. It makes you go significantly faster and on the motorcycle it is even more noticeable!!
Just wanted to point out that you got the loot bag quality slightly out of order. The strongest zombies (dire wolves and demos) drop the red bags. Blue is dropped by mid-strength zombies like cops and wights. Yellows are from the normal zombie types.
Ive had this game for a long time. I 100% welcome the changes. I just need to relearn a good chunk of the game😅 but this is what we do (as gamers). Nice video 👍

Dang!! I didn’t know hunting deer is now at night. Previous update had deers popping in at random near you. I’m relatively new to the game. Barely made it through the third horde night and while I have tons of water now, food is scarce and hunting chickens and rabbits don’t give you that much. Also I had no idea howlers pop in at random once you reach a certain game stage. In my case I started building A LOT for a test horde base. Suddenly no zombies appeared for a good while. I thought something was wrong. And then a chick zombie dressed in white appeared. I thought let’s pull her in to the new base to test. She started coming and then I noticed 3 more zombies coming, and then I noticed 10 more coming and suddenly they were breaking my test base to I ran to my old one near by and I was like WTH IS GOING ON???? So I got like 50 zombies out of nowhere pushing for my old base and I was like “but blood moon is tomorrow what happened?” …. Died once trying to protect my base pillars. Come to find out the white zombie brides were HOWLERS….. but after THE SECOND TIME THEY APPEARED BY MY BASE. Now I got ptsd from that crap and been over thinking it too much. But I like discovering the game alone. It’s part of the fun. Like I know you can go into dev mode to test bases before you build them in the actual game. Me? I like to try WHILE I play. It makes things more fun and keeps you on the edge. This game has a steep learning curve with all it has but so far 3 hordenights have been manageable. Just have to reinforce my pillars so my base doesn’t crumble.
I did it the old school away with a wrench without thinking about it. Then I walked over to my water collection and held down the button and it had a take option. 😅

How do you have the first two items in your hot bar? I've tried to figure out how to find those items and no luck. Aren't they developer items? I can't figure out how to access them on console
@Spartan-85 I play on xbox for the 1.0 and cant figure out what button on the controller allows me to change the shape of the block. I was writing down on paper next to me what shapes i can make because there are so few limited block shapes. But after seeing your video and you can change it I would really like to know what button it is. Thanks.
I like to build a place next to my fort or what I had before the 1.0 version I had my plots inside & on the roof top of my Fort & I let it rain on the plots.
Awesome video thanks , I just subscribed to you it was so good, one question I can't find the answer for is on the slots where you have all of your weapons/items there is a symbol which is a like a rotate symbol? What does this do please ?
Hi, it’s Will here. You said something about videos that you would post for people that need help. I was hoping you could give us a breakdown of the eye colours of the zombies and the strength of the zombies cause I’m just curious how it functions could you please make a video on it?
I can answer that for you. So there are 3 types of all zombies: normal, feral, and radioactive. Normal zombies have their default stats, feral zombies have yellow eyes and have more health and deal more damage, and radioactive zombies are covered in green and have even more health and damage than their feral versions and they also heal slowly over time. All zombies individually have their own stats. Some zombies have more health and defence, move faster, deal more damage, or have unique abilities (cop zombies spit vomit at you & and mutated zombies shoot green ooze all around them). For the most part, you can just look at them and just their general stats. Normal civilian zombies will be weaker and faster, fat zombies are tankier and deal slightly more damage, and very fit looking zombies can be strong, tanky, and fast (such as biker zombies). Zombies that look like they have clothing that act like armor have higher defense and health (ex: construction, military, and biker zombies)

The buff lasts quite a while and it’s good to take advantage of the item early game if you are smart enough
(It can also be helpful later for moving gear to a new base in bulk)
Its been so strange going from the legacy version to the new one but its been a lot of fun relearning the game
There's also oil shale in the desert to mine which you can use to make fuel in the chemistry station
Zombie bodies do not automatically disappear it takes a bit and carving them does give flesh, bone, and nitrate
You could jst hit the Map button and head for the coloured spots(white being phosphorous, light blue being lead - you can work out the rest without being level 132)
@@gamingaccount6904 not sure what the player level has to do with anything, it’s just my tutorial and testing world. Thanks for stopping by
Will you do a video on the learn by looting system?
Noob here, thank you I really needed this help.
@@battlerapencyclopedia2275 you’re welcome!!
Thank you for the tips, been having a blast.
@@josephschulz9629 you’re very welcome!!
Dew collectors generate "heat" so that may make more hordes come to your base so you should build traps around it to keep it safer as with the removal of jars it is your biggest priority or should be
To answer your questions quickly:
1. Infections are hard to treat. Honey only has ~25% chance to be collected from stumps.
2. Dew collectors and other crafting tables in use attract screamer zombies that spawn hordes to attack you.
Longer answers with detail:
@@Fallenlords1969 looks like you got your questions answered. Thanks for the visit 😊
Keep them coming. There is going to be enough people that needs it lol
Gotta get that "Sement" production going lads.
Food and water go to character then top left there is a stats icon, it will be more exact
Ive had this game for a long time. I 100% welcome the changes. I just need to relearn a good chunk of the game😅 but this is what we do (as gamers). Nice video 👍
Thanks for the visit!
Super helpful, thanks my man
I am absolutely frothing over the new console version ❤❤❤ one thousand times better than the origy and so much more to learn and do. This was a massive win for 7days community ❤❤
Im 10 hrs in, this helped so much. Thx
Just FYI, you can ride your bike without using any stamina if you're not in turbo mode. It's R1 on PS5.
Great tip!!
Super helpful as always, will defo make life easier for people, like me!
Happy to help!
Has anyone had any problems with the sounds? On day 4 now and my sound is all messed up. Choppy.
Love all your awesome info.
Such a great surprise for me. I loved legacy
Crazy blow up for this game bought it on saturday
Good stuff, thanks for the tips!
Hay thanks for I struggled this whole weekend lol
Bro I've waited so long for this xD dumped 31 hours in already 😂😂😂
“Deer only come out at night”
At the end of the video you see a deer walking around in the day 😂
I’ve got nitrate from fertilizer bags around farms also. Hope it helps guys
I did it the old school away with a wrench without thinking about it. Then I walked over to my water collection and held down the button and it had a take option. 😅
I just wanna know what kinda customizable options is there for the bicycle?
Great tips! Does rotting flesh still attract zombies like in legacy?
Goated video man u earned a sub 💪
Thank you 🤘🤘🤘
Video really helps thanks spartan 85 🤘 on another video you should show us how to get xp faster like doing jobs for traders or places to find the best loot early game 👍
I can do that!!
Does the hatch elevator still work? Also does the hay bale still work?
this game deserves the updates it makes me so happy
Just out of curiosity is it possible to make a beaker if u have the materials in your inventory
Just got here 1st time viewer and well this is Minecraft on steroids
Is anyone else addicted to this game ? Frig it’s all I think about at work
How do you have the first two items in your hot bar? I've tried to figure out how to find those items and no luck. Aren't they developer items? I can't figure out how to access them on console
@Spartan-85 I play on xbox for the 1.0 and cant figure out what button on the controller allows me to change the shape of the block. I was writing down on paper next to me what shapes i can make because there are so few limited block shapes. But after seeing your video and you can change it I would really like to know what button it is. Thanks.
I like to build a place next to my fort or what I had before the 1.0 version I had my plots inside & on the roof top of my Fort & I let it rain on the plots.
So helpful. Thanks.
Yeah day and night cycles pretty common feature now
Awesome video thanks , I just subscribed to you it was so good, one question I can't find the answer for is on the slots where you have all of your weapons/items there is a symbol which is a like a rotate symbol? What does this do please ?
To be honest I have no idea what that does, I wanna guess there is a quick change option / button but I don’t know how to use it 😅🤣
Hi, it’s Will here.
