You did a WONDERFUL job on the first story! Your vocalizations of the various character's personalities and voices, especially the mad scientist insanity searching for the human soul in the human like it was a physical organ. I could literally hear the various waves of emotional madness in his voice as they rose, fell, and were tossed back and forth as he manically spoke. Notice I said "...his voice..." and not yours. Your presentation was so good that I was transcended beyond being just a listener and was transported into the story by my activated imagination The second story was excellent as well. In the 2nd story I heard you create the character of a rather animated storyteller, and then bring him to life with your vocal skills as he described the vocal play about to unfold. Your shifting between excellent "narrator mode" and vocalizing your characters was well done. Another person posted that you couldn't sing. That person completely missed what you were doing. It wasn't "you" singing, it was your various vocal characters, each character with a different voice, different personality, and in the part of the story where they were singing, with various singing abilities ranging from gruff and awful to almost passable, but again, your presentation was so good that it was the characters singing, not "you". Incredible presentation on both. These two stories were a LOT closer to being like literal radio theater then just narration. You literally set the stage of the mind of the listener with your voice as you then placed the characters upon it and then they....through your vocal skills, delivered a wonderful performance. Twice. Bravo!
in the second story, the choice of the first song was great. it starts with lines that are completely absurd for the situation on top of the fact that some guy is singing when in hell. then it shifts to uplifting lyrics about believing in the face of adversity. thus bringing everyone out of their funks and reminding them that bad situations can be overcome. then moving to one of the most iconic "war anthems" in modern history all about collectively fighting and bringing their abhorrent and disgraced enemy low.
A religious leader once said that music is a divine and effective art, food of the soul and spirit. Through its power and charm, the spirit of man is uplifted. The second story proves that.
doesn't the mad scientist alien sound like Mort from Madagascar and Dr. Hienz Doof mixed together? I can hear both "King Julien!" and "This is my new Inator- Inator!" EDIT: also a little Meeseeks too. XD

You missed the point. It wasn't "him" singing. It was his various characters with different personalities and with his vocal skills he gave them varied singing abilities ranging from gruff and awful to almost passable. That's what you were hearing. They had been brought to life by the narrator's vocal skills and it was like vocal theater.

@@voidshattered Oh shut up, fool, I do understand narration, if there was a part where somebody farted would you need a narrator to make a farting noise so you would get the picture? Just a thought, but an amazing continuation, or offshoot of this story’s feeling would be that humans not only connect with each other very well, but others too. That humans for whatever reason can connect with anyone or anything that they come across. Like Krill who would be an individual and yet can feel the surge of pride and anger and happiness and sadness along with his humans, even though that isn’t normal for his species or any species. That humans can somehow just Connect with everyone. I’m sure that would be very jarring for every other species that was individuals before and then begin to feel what others feel or at least what humans felt/humans feeling what they feel. I’m sure it would be pretty odd for them not just alarming. Or could you imagine a hive mind coming across a human who began to understand the hive mind itself it would be hive mind-sepshion.

5:45 yeah this is straight up not true. I'm not opposed to accepting different logic for a fictional story, but given that this fun little piece of misinformation was spread everywhere on the internet for a while, it kinda annoys me. (though I may be more annoyed because I was actually ricked into believing it for a while)
I can't help but cringe at this story in context. This series is very good, and the aliens aren't superstitious. They have the decency of being rational and only believing something because there is evidence of it, and this story simply undoes all that and insinuate aliens will believe stuff from human religion as fact just... Because! And things we can disprove nowadays Like, just give humans souls in your sci-fi! You already made every other alien very very fragile to make human survivability a superpower, just tie that to a soul thingy, why does it have to be developed literally using the same fallacies preachers use and why can i point to the exact moment where everyone suddenly pre-supposed souls exist and are just undetectable, for absolutely no reason? The writer is interjecting fallacy based, illogical lines of thought, and they might not even be realizing it, which is a thing since religion only works through being indoctrinated with it at a age where you're too young to understand logic. That's a horrible sight on its own but it also makes enjoying this story very hard
The source of the soul: Gen 2:7 Breath+Body Where it goes when you die: Ecc 12:7 "The Body returns to dust and the Breath returns to God who gave it." No such things as ghosts. If there are some kind of spirits aka "ghosts", they aren't wondering human souls.
If anyone was wondering about the 21 gram soul thing it's probably a reference to a scientific experiment conducted by Duncan MacDougall who observed a patient immediately losing around 21 g of weight at the time of his death with no way to account for the weight loss. What he didn't want to disclose was that he did it with six patients and only one of them actually lost the 21 grams. It's called selective reporting, it's what people with an agenda do to try to forcefully confirm a hypothesis
I hate how this series of stories is amazing, and the aliens have a very good vague characterization, mostly through what differentiates them from humans, thus emphasizing what makes us unique And then they all suddenly presuppose souls exists for no reason, from one paragraph to the next
