SPB sir was the only south indian who was not obsessed with only south indian music and culture( don't take in negatively). He always praised rafiji and very fond of his singing, He came to sing in lataji's concert. He sang many hindi songs and that too popular songs. Established himself in bollywood(many don't even try). Huge respect and RIP sir.
Sun Beliya - 100 Days Idhar Dekho - Angaar Tumse Milne Ki Tamanna Hai - Saajan Tumse Jo Dekhte Hi Pyaar Hua - Patthar Ke Phool Sach Mere Yaar Hai - Saagar Saathiya - Love And so so many more ! Loved SPB ♥️
A man of elegance, down to earth, fabulous artist, sober man, gentleman I never seen before. Basically his quality of singing and technique just speechless. I can't explore how much I love him. 🙏🙏🙏🙏 HE IS MY GOD....HE IS MY LOVE....HE IS MY PASSION🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Loved the songs SP Balasubrahmanyam sang with Laxmikant Pyarelal and RD Burman. These music directors really knew how to utilize his talents. Raam Laxman did later too but early 80s LP and RDB gave some brilliant songs to this fantastic singer. For Me, I would say Mohammed Rafi for top place, Manna Dey second, and then Kishore Kumar & SPB for third place, followed by in number order Mahendra Kapoor, Mohammed Aziz, Suresh Wadkar, Shailendra Singh. My favourite album by LP with SPB is Angaar (1992). Main Inteqam Loonga (1982) the title track, it's a kinda like blues, jazzy style, brilliant. Andha Kanoon (1984) though the best song from this is the title Song by Kishore Kumar. 'Mausam Ka Takaaza Hai' is a fantastic song kinda like A Mohammed Rafi style song. I can go on but this guy is a living legend.
I would call SPB the second legend graduating out of the Mohd. Rafi gharaana of playback singing (I am using the word gharaana, used by the great Manna De who said Rafi was a gharaana by himself). I say second, because the first was the great Mahendra Kapoor, who was directly and personally mentored by Rafi himself. Rafi sent Mahendraji to the same Ustaads who taught Rafi classical music. Rafi took Mahendraji, (when he was still a school student), to some of his (Rafi's) recording sessions from where Mahendraji learned the nuances of playback singing. Later, after Mahendraji had himself become a famous playback singer, in an interview Mahendraji spoke about what Rafi taught him. Rafi told him to be always humble, believe that its God who is behind all his successes, and be always grateful everyone who contributes to your success etc. SPB, though not mentored by Rafi, literally took Rafi as his Maanaseeka guru, and has said many times that Rafi was the reference point that he used to sing any type of song - comedy song, sad song, ghazal, romantic song or whatever type it may be. Both Mahendraji and SPB have imbibed the qualities of being humble and being good human beings from Rafi. Watch Mahendraji's interviews and you will never see him utter one wrong or bad comment about anyone, and always humble, ready to praise anyone who has given a good and great song. You will see SPB do the same. In all these three great singers, it is the purity of their hearts that you see reflected in the purity of their singing. Graduating from the Rafi gharaana is not easy!!!
Absolutely true friend.. You had narrated nicely .. Even the new sensation Saurav Kishan also tries not only to imitate Rafi Sahab's voice but also the humility and try to keep a smiling face

Dear Shri.S.P.B.Sir, My Namaskaragalu to you.Have been listening to you from late 60s and your songs are a part of my life.Had a good fortune to listen to you live on several occasions.Am an ardent devotee of your singing and i have a feeling you are a gandharva to have come on this planet to bring joy and happiness to millions and millons of fans all over the globe. At the same time i fondly remember the other gandharva and the ultimate singer of play back singing of all time Shri Mohammad Rafiji whom you consider your Guru and God.For me both of you are gods of music.i have listened to Shri Rafiji's and your thousands of songs almost on a daily basis and experienced so much joy and bliss. While listening and enjoying Shri Rafiji's songs i use to feel how this song would sound if SPB sir would sing this song. I guess fans of Shri Rafiji and who are also fans ( which may run in to millions ) of Shri Spbji will be delighted and enjoy hugely if you lend your golden voice to render some ( may be 50 or more depending upon your convenience) of shri Rafij's immortal songs. It is going to be a big celeberation for the Rafi Spb fans, if this happens. Thanking you Sir.
This is nothing but penance. Penance in music. How fortunate is this generation to have amidst it a person like SPB ! You are a gift from God to us Sir.
My most and favourite Gurudev Sir SPB Bala Saab is no more physically in earth....But I believe that my God🙏 is always with mine. It is very bad luck that I never seen physically the God in front of me but from a far distance that is Kolkata, I wish that his every song basically hindi will always stay in my heart🙏. It's a soulfull prayer to my God that "sir jahan bhi hain...Jahan bhi rehen, unki parchhaya with me always"

@@Straightforward786ji, deeply over come by sorrow, as I was, I could not focus on anything else. But now, I remember, you were requesting SPB sir to share the experience he had with S. Janaki mam. Kk used to charge more than a lakh for a song at that time itself. So for most it was not even affordable to take kk for their movies. I don't see any reason why Kk would be jealous of SPB. It's like saying MD Rafi was jealous of SPB. No matter how big a fan of MD Rafi anyone is but only a fool would try to compare kk and Rafi to say one guy was better. There are songs that Rafi sang that no one can do better likewise there are songs that kk sang and no one would come close to him either.. so I think this jealousy thing is bull shit
