Absolutely no chance
Truls was too rigid if he was relaxed his fluidity of movement would have matched his real level of play but here he was too tense.
He was unable to find any long-term tactical solution during his match to come back to the score. He should have made serves that would allow him to attack first to put WANG under pressure but here it was Wang who put him under pressure with each of his initiatives. Aggressive mid-long serves and fast long serves would have allowed him to take the advantage on many points instead of remaining on a short game which made him make a lot of mistakes in service returns.
Especially with that hexagonal stupid racket.

@@PongGod I think the hexagonal shape gives more speed and power, but less precision and stability, hence it suits Truls better because of his "punchy" playstyle. Maybe i'm wrong tho.
Wang's speed and form is like younger Ma Long's. Looking good to take gold during olympics.
Younger Ma Long wasn't even close to what Wang is now.

I am actually a HUGE fan of WANG CHUQIN, nevertheless, i gotta give Moregard my deepest respect because even though he lost the match he gave it his best tho!
Bold words by the commentators about some newfound confidence, but in game, Truls' footwork is lightyears behind any top Chinese player. Wang Chuqin is comfortably behind every hit he makes while Truls is either stretching or obviously out of place. I love Truls' creative shots and chop blocks but there's obviously a time and a place for these things, and that time and place isn't against talent like Wang Chuqin who casually returned every single chop block by Truls. On the other hand, there's nothing to be gained from rage outbursts but lost concentration. Truls needs to grow mentally. He also needs to at least try to catch such opponents off guard with confident changes in pace. That's the only thing that throws the Chinese off because they specifically train for exchaning shot after shot in rhythm without making unforced errors until kingdom come.

Да. Без шансов. Насколько мощны атаки Вани. Ударов плоских от него нет. Всё прокручивает, движение размашистое и каждому мячу подшагивает. Вначале отходит от стола после подачи, а потом наступает с длинным движением руки, придавая сильное вращение, да такое что никто подставить не может. Хотя Трулс в подставке силён. Двух ходовка получается которую вывести не могут соперники. Даже Бэкхэндом встречает наваливаясь на мяч с вращением кистевым, что соперник если и успевает то только подставить. Супер агрессивная игра с сильным вращением. Браво Ваня

Technically Ma Long has never had the technical ability on both sides that Wang Chuqin has.
His on-the-bounce backhand counterloop and his deadly forehand-loop are mostly too much for most World-class players.
Seems like skipping the "first ball attack" does not work against Wang Chuqin

Wang chuqin’s ability to aim so well so close to the table is probably what makes his game so good. He consistently gets people out to the far flanks or attacks the elbow viciously, and it gets hiss opponents off-balance super quickly so they can’t make good counterattacks. He’s using his offense in a very smart, defensive, diffusing manner.
I must say that Wang Chuqin is nearly unbeatable at this point, will be world number 1 again next week!!💯💪‼️1️⃣

WR#1 WCQ This guy has simplified table tennis domination. Good serve, good receive, laser backhand and powerful forehand . He imposes his style of play at will. His mental strengh is outstanding 😮

not that much man, the main difference is that Wang has a better short game (serve / recieve) and by that almoust always can attack first which is a huge advantage in TT

Wang's serve is so good and well disguised that Moregard failed to return it safely most of the time, never mind try to attack it. And Wang's return of serve is almost as good. So Moregard has very little opportunity to demonstrate his shot selection. He got steamrollered.
lol when youtube recommended this, i saw it was 15 minutes long so i thought it was the highlights version, but no, Truls got destroyed that quickly!
When the full match is only 15 minutes, I already know the results (3-0 easy )
Wang Chuqing is the best player in the world right now.
Moregard isn't the best player in the world, but he's my favorite. I just hope he becomes world champion one day.
@AdamBobrow I quess Moregard got a little warning for his acting at 9:40 - "he did a practise opening! shoot" never saw something like it in a professional table tennis match. As you mentioned :) we are not used to player's who act out of line ;).

Confident and creative Moregard might be, it doesn't matter much against a much superior opponent with speed, fundamentals, short games, quality of shots, and above all, consistency. Truls has a long way to go to become a threat to Wang. As a matter of fact, none of world pros can be a threat to Wang. Next a few years, the era of world table tennis belongs to Wang.
I hope he wins it all this time.

@@RadiusG60 I hear you, many out there think it's great. It's not terrible but some if it wishey washey repetitive stuff. Prefer if they'd be honest, say it as it is, like saying let's be honest Truls has slipped a good bit he has little chance. Instead he's fawning over his imaginary skill set.

Im wondering why Truls was standing so close to the table. Especially when receiving. No time to react. He had way better games than this. Sad.

Here’s the problem. Wang is an athlete. Like MaLong, FanZendong and other European players like Timo, Franziska etc.
Truls is in the same position as Harimoto. His close game can beat 99% of players but once you run into the 1% who force rallies and attack your short forehand the difference in athleticism, footwork and experience becomes impossible to reconcile.
Wang and others like him has trained for over a decade in a pattern that is optimized to destroy the 1% and has no weaknesses. The only way to beat them is to literally earn the ball in multi-rally, hard footwork etc. Trick shots and clever serves won’t win the game in this level.
I think Trulls can evolve but he has to really address the fundamentals of his game and avoid playing these lesser Players who will just keep forcing him to revert to his old patterns.
this is what happend when you stay in the confort zone for almost a decade like i dont know why truls dont play in the bigger league that have more competition like the way he played like he didnt practice a lot like chop block and side push doesnt help for the long term
There arent any wang chuqins in German league either. Truls was 5-0 there and won all matches in European Champions league except one match he lost 6-5 in decider.

His serves are ridiculously hard to read as he hides it well but he is not serving over the table. He looks like he is but he is not. He has the best serves in the world easily due to the way he hides the balls.

WCQ has massive unfair advantage with his hidden serves. Ridiculous even one of the best receiver in the game cannot even read his serves. Absolutely ridiculous and zero chance for Truls.
Please stop using "illegal serves" as an excuse for the loss. There has been multiple times in this match itself that showing WCQ serving at different camera angles and the ball is clearly never hidden upon contact. Plus Truls is one of the only few players who complained about Wang's serve being illegal. The other person is Alexis his very good friend. Apart from these two brats, nobody else, including both Asian and European players ever complained about Wang's serves. Not to mentioned that Trul's own serve isn't that legal either, low toss, not removing arm. But even when he is serving, Wang returned it like it was nothing.
So truls has no chance because of wang’s serves?!?! Ok got it lets move on🙄

No one thought he would win but well its Timo Boll. Truls would have been obliterated by Shidong. Now Boll Jiangkun . Boll at 43 is playing way better and a universe more intelligent than Truls.

Truls is training like 3-4h every day to maintain this top form. Only losing to 2-3 players on the tour. Why are ppl always so easily distracted by one loss. The reality of a pro tour player is harsh. Train hard, until you encounter the TOP 3 chinese, hope for the best, repeat. Nothing more you can do.

@@yongdeng1813 It's definitely not the ONLY reason but it is definitely a very big. reasons. Truls popped up 80% of Wang's serve allowing Wang to unleash his ferocious attacks. Some serves are outright winner. You can look at the match stats and you can see what the serve winning percentage of Wang is. Ironically I saw you replying to another person's comment saying Wang's serve is illegal and I believe you should have seen my long comment there on how I rubbished that person's claims about Wang serves being illegal. Yet you are here yapping as if I am one of the person thinking that Wang's serve is illegal.

WCQ is becoming the leading player in China team for the next five years to replace Ma Long. Ma Long should retire now! FZD has dramatic challenge if he doesn’t improve substantially immediately.
Wasn't there some incident between these two, years ago, when they were both much younger, quite possibly at their very first match, which Truls lost, where they were yelling closely at each others faces, and almost got into a physical confrontation?
That might be why Truls have this psychological block against Wang Chuqin throughout his career.
Their first encounter? That was the youth olympic games 2018 I think. Moregardh smashed his racket to the ground
