That CEO 'psychopath' is smiling on the inside because he still gets his $32 million dollar salary this year.
CEO CAN DO MISDEEDS. THEN, THEY GET MULTI-MILLION DOLLARS PAYOUT. IT IS A LONG HISTORY. Google - Alaska Airlines Flight 261, McDonnell Douglas MD-80 series aircraft that crashed into the Pacific Ocean on January 31, 2000, roughly 2.7 miles north of Anacapa Island, California, following a catastrophic loss of pitch control, killing all 88 on board: two pilots, three flight attendants, and 83 passengers. Maintenance was deferred.
Money doesn’t make people happy.
@@zenithskull No, but it makes inhuman psychopaths happy.

If it's Boeing, I ain't going.
That's actually a lyric in a song that Conyway Twitty did with Michael Jackson
Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles
I'm feeling very still
And I think my spaceship knows which way to go
Tell my wife I love her very much, she knows
Ground Control to Major Tom

I wouldn't ride in an American jet - especially Boeing- and I wouldn't ride on a NASA spacecraft. And for many of the same reasons.
@@skippy6086 Those astronauts are nuts to climb into that thing. I feel bad for them though being stuck in space. Crazy times we live in.
Boeing needs to be broken up or nationalized. This company is too big to exist and too shady to trust.
"nationalized" you're funny.
But how are middle class Americans going to be self made millionaire/billionaire if big corporations are broken up or nationalized - republicans

I took it to just be another example of manslaughter by corporation. In Canada, we had the Lac Magantique disaster after years of cost cutting
It for real seems like east Palestine happened like 3 years! Justice needs to be served. Flint Michigan still has lead poisoned water, it’s been like 8 years!

I’m literally paying more money for plane tickets for the privilege to not fly Boeing
Oh really? I don’t believe it.

Yeah, both Boeing and the Israel lobby.
No, it's too obvious now. They'll let her live as "proof" they don't murder adversaries.
They also need to find out why the FAA lied on behalf of Boeing for the cause of the crashes. They're equally complicit for those crashes in my opinion.

Two words: Criminal Prosecution
Quit listening to excuses and watch things change.
.
There were no criminal prosecutions for the 2008 financial crisis, perhaps the biggest failure of the Obama administration. CEOs know they won't be held accountable, so this continued psychopathic behavior is to be expected.
I stopped listening to what people say in the news and try to watch for what they actually do
Expecting a company to choose people over profit is ludicrous. They need to be more tightly regulated and held liable including the leadership. If public shaming is the only consequence they will replace leaders and continue business as usual.
Butbutbut.....free market......trickle down economics.......can't tell private industry how to run their business.....
- republicans
I don’t know the solution cause one party drags their feet on this stuff and the other party hates regulations.
@@jagger3600pro tip... Because both parties don't want regulations but only one has to pretend they care about people more than profit
@@jagger3600 Because they both benefit with lobbyist money.
Same with illegal immigration. Both parties accepted it for different reasons for decades and did nothing to stop it until it went bust. Now they blame each other. they are both at fault.
Instead of STIFF fines and jail for corrupt business leaders, it seems that CEOs get axed, symbolically sacrificed but with golden parachutes.
Then it’s new CEO, new day, business as usual for the industries.
Again, you can thank the Reagan Administration for all of this. The Reagan administration deregulated this industry and allowed McDonald Douglas to merge with Boeing. You can do a direct timeline from that merger to when Boeing started having problems.
No. BA merged with MDC in 1996....this was 'well' into the Clinton years. But also, Boeing had three 737 crashes due to faulty designs 'before' that merger ever happened. What you said is a faulty left wing talking point.
Boeing executives: Whistles don’t work in space.
As an HR Professional, I’ve lead many investigations and I’m Shocked, SHOCKED Boeing has not been shut down! Must be nice to be so powerful our government can’t hold them accountable……
Man, when you do something that makes someone in HR grow a conscience, you know you've messed up.
If you’re a professional anything how come you missed the logical conclusion?
The government is the problem. Not the solution !
Of course the government CAN hold them accountable. They won’t !
We have anti monopoly laws that could be enforced against several major corporations. Kickbacks and lobbyists are why that won’t happen.
Too big to fail. If Boeing failed and went bankrupt, it would lower our GDP by a good amount because of all the subsidiaries that Boeing has especially in the defense industries and the investment markets.
When you own Congress anything is possible.

The CEO must get jail time. well a friend of mine said so, not me, Boeing.

Sorry
Does it surprise anyone that Boeing is owned by Blackrock?
Ok but what isn’t?
There needs to be criminal charges of negligence for Boeing. These CEOs and execs can do anything they want and never face REAL consequences, so of course, why would they change? Loss of human life doesn't seem to move them, there's been plenty of that, so only jail time and being professionally ruined might serve as discouragement. They cannot continue to operate with impunity.
Can't even say jail these ceos without deletion
Yup. They use to say "manufacturing consent," but now its corporate algorithms "curating communication." What a shame. Perhaps the designers of the algorithms have stock in Boeing.
Man those astronauts are screwed

Boeing: "It was an isolated event"
I wish people would understand that this is capitalism. This is the way business operates
This is crony capitalism. Capitalism works better when governments actually regulate these companies instead of getting paid off by them to let the companies do as they please. Take money out of politics and we would have a better country. Especially when you take into account how much more Congress would get done if they weren't spending most of their time during the average day trying to get campaign donations for reelection.
No, this is greed. Capitalism is not greed, just like capitalism and technology are not synonymous with planned obsolescence... they are just currently infected with it.
100% Profits over people whenever it can. Greed is inherent feature to capitalism.
Still better than collectivism, which kills millions of people when it gets going. My family came from eastern europe, we lost a lot of them in soviet concentration camps when they refused to be sileneced over goverment failures and corruption. The difference between this systema nd that system was that government is accountable to no one when it fails.

I saw a documentary a number of years ago where Boing workers were interviewed. Many of them said they would not be flying in the newer Boing planes due to their concerns about lack of safety due to poor design, poor build quality and very importantly lack of quality control.
It's surprising that no one has the courage to question the Boeing CEO about his involvement and having the whistleblowers whacked.
There is considerable evidence to support this claim.
She must be new here. The entire CEO class, all the people running these corporations are a bunch of Patrick Batemans. They can probably get a res at Dorsia though.
I stopped flying Boeing. When booking tickets, I look for airbus instead.

Corprate phyco is a great doc explains it all
I'm sure Congress will increase the amount of money to help Boeing straighten things up.
Worked for Boeing 7 years. That place taught me a life lesson. All they care about is pushing those planes down the assembly line as fast as possible. Money isn’t everything
Especially when my son is piloting them. I begged him to leave a job when they were going to make him fly the MAX. He still has to fly the older 737s. I know him and he would be devastated if any of his passengers were hurt in any way. Every single victim had loved ones left behind suffering, including the pilots who were initially blamed for Boeing's criminal actions.
You have to stand in awe at the rhetorical might of contained, organized, informed, and confidently wielded rage like that. Well fucking done!
"We cannot have people running these companies who don't care about human life."
Exactly.
Cut corners on safety, Cut employees = bottom line goes up = Big big CEO bonuses….
The lady on CNN I felt showed class and elegance with her portrayal of Boeing. If I lost a relative to Boeing.....
Those astronauts on Boeing are as good as dead. If they don't have the supplies and oxygen, dead. No way SpaceX can send something up in time to save them. It's logistically impossible.
How Boeing can be in business is just mind blowing to me. The people they have paid off in Washington is mind blowing to me....
Say no to korporate welfare
That apology is not sincere. Profiteers never cared about human life. Profit over human life.
I worked on Boeing 757,767 and 777 airliners and they were well built aircraft. The planes they build today are compromised due to obsession for lowering costs and bigger profits. I won’t fly on a Boeing airplane today.
Love the spin Boeing is putting on having their astronauts stranded on the ISS. “They love Starliner, they love being in the vehicle, they love being on ISS,” Weigel said on Tuesday. “I think, you know, if you ask Butch and Suni, they might want to stay for a long period of time.”
Only psychopaths can run those companies. Nobody else with human emotions can.
The planes that crashed also had only one sensor, normally there is one on each side for redundancy, but on the Max 8 Boeing wanted airlines to pay extra for the second sensor.
"I felt exactly how you would feel if you were getting ready to launch and knew you were sitting on top of 2 million parts - all built by the lowest bidder on a government contract." - American Hero John Glenn
All this happening on purpose, it’s not an accident. No one could drop the ball this bad, and not realize, or be held accountable. The world is a stage.
I wonder where all that money is going. I will give you one guess.. The shareholders' and the CEO's pockets
Wow she is fire, they will never have her back on but it’s worth it
Apologize doesn't mean anything when you keep doing it and they don't plan to stop. Me and my wife refused to take flights ✈️ anymore I'd rather take the car to get from x and y.
We don’t punish Boeing. We bail them out when victims do attempt to punish them.
I need to start checking which airliner is being used when I book flights from now on.
Also need to follow where this dude goes after Boeing
I wonder what are the odds vegas have on the astronauts coming back alive?
It's insane to watch neoliberals go into shock when somebody believes corporate criminals should be prosecuted.
Getting on a Boeing space ship after everything that’s come out is just Darwin Award-level stupid.
None of the leaders of our biggest companies care about human life. For the past few years I have been dealing with my dad's deteriorating health, and the negligence, lies, apathy of doctors, and general lack of concern or sense of urgency is simply staggering. I have been in a war with the health system and all I can say is that if the rest of us don't collectively say enough is enough, nothing will ever change. My condolences to this mother and my thanks for her speaking up.
She’s running for Congress!! Bring her on!!
In the 1990's I worked at various electronic manufacturing companies in Austin Tx. Within ten years, the companies changed structure by hiring mainly temps and overloading permanent employees with constant training and quality inspections, along with actual production. They cut at least two thirds of quality inspectors and dumped it on half trained temps. I saw this coming thirty years ago. Profit above people and the government saw it and the corporations drove us in that direction. It has destroyed the working class and made our country vulnerable and weak
At 32 million a year this guy could careless what people say. He is just trying his best to become the best actor he can at the hearing. He will after just go on his yacht with other C.E.Os and drink and enjoy himself and forget about the hearing. He did not know anyone on that plane and to get in his position you make decisions like laying people off not caring about them personally. Because for some if something bad happens to some they are sad for them. But for others like this guy and others it is it is me and my family I care about not other people's.
