  • All parts canonically played by Tsumugi Kotobuki (琴吹 紬) in the full version of Rice as a Side Dish (ごはんはおかず) from their S2E20 performance!
I use these for 3D music in VRC but I want to share them because the quality is so uniquely high!
Such a happy song! Today's a happy day! The mics show how many instruments are playing, here the keyboard display screen shows this as well! The volume on all instrument videos of this song is reduced 3dB from the original, to prevent all extra peaking. Although the bass, rhytm guitars and keyboard tracks never peaked, it seemed better to keep these the same volume!
In the keyboard track the keyboard FX are quieter than they are supposed to be. That's good for the other tracks but that makes the keyboard one less accurate. I could have restored the FX in the keyboard track to their original volume, but the quiet guitar channels you can hear in the other video added a lot of extra guitar noise. So I decided to make a seperate keyboard FX track, which is pretty cool anyway! When this track is combined together with the keyboard one it should be up to the original volume again, (but of course overall minus 3dB). I put some subtle visual rhytm to these FX which might help with noticing what to ignore, or enjoy!
    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
No AI or other filters were used at all. It's isolated using only phase cancellation. This noise cancelling technique is applied in many layers to the special instrumental versions of this song taken from one of the K-On CD releases. In each of those instrumental tracks a different instrument has been removed by the creators, kinda like instrumental karaokes. Basically what I did is I magically inverted everything across each other in a very specific way, to make the instrument which is missing in those tracks the only one playing in mine!
You might think that it's way easier to simply put the missing instrument track over the full instrumental track. While that's true, you can't get the same quality isolation this way - at least for this song - because of major rendering differences between these tracks. Look at the tutorial I made in the playlist description for more details:
    • Go! Go! MANIAC - All I...
I think the very quiet parts from the other instruments carrying over is mostly from the many small audio compression differences between the tracks, although I kinda like it like that. It feels like the sound is bleeding over from them wearing headphones, playing along to the song or something
Thanks for listening, use this as you wish!

Thanks so much, this is awesome! Love the little organ bit in the middle. Would it be alright if you uploaded the flac files for Gohan wa Okazu's isolated tracks? I was thinking of making a remix of some sort!

I want to, but I fear doing so can get everything taken down! Regardless, all the same audio imperfections are still there in the flacs. I guess you would only benefit from them if you were using plug-ins to clean the audio that work better with higher resolutions, if that's even a thing

Great video! Could you maybe do strawberry parfait, tenshi ni fureta yo, my love is a stapler, or honey sweet tea time?
