- Year 5 Season 3 Final Target || Story / Lore || The Division 2
Aaron Keener, Theo Parnell, Alani Kelso
Following on from Kelso’s relocation to New York City, and her sudden disappearance.
We’ve been following clues that are appearing to lead to something much larger around Keener, those much higher up within the remnants of the government, and the Black Tusk.
Finally we’ve managed to track her down to a single location.
Agents, we need to move quickly, before the Black Tusk catches up with her first.

We're kelso fucking back!
Also, goddamm, so ready for the 15 comms of Manny trying to come to terns with tf is going on
Aww hell no, Kelso?
Keener being alive is exactly the reason why we always double tap
Lmao, I commented similar in another response: I always hit them again when they're down, head and body lol, as I always played for immersion (minus the bullet sponge stuff).

I KNOW RIGHT! Excited as all hell right now. Really looking forward to brooklyn and Division 3 story/lore.

I just wanna hear at the start or end “Warning! Your Division affiliation has been disavowed, you are now marked as rogue ⭕️”
At this point every known memorable character except the agent has gone rogue. Feels more like in a battalion, one is an actual soldier while everyone else is a spy.
Yeah, there's definite "Flock of Wolves" energy to the story lately.
Our D1 character is still MIA. Maybe we'll see them in year 6 or Div3

Whenever we encountered open world Rogues they would shout "I don't want to do this" and other statements that suggested we weren't their primary target. Now those lines make sense, although I doubt this was all planned that far back.
I really to see Manny, Roy & especially Paul reactions after finding out that Kelso joined up with keener. I can only imagine them not having much trust or faith in the division anymore or us as the players cause at this point I think mostly everyone is ready to go rogue.
Paul would blow a gasket if he finds out
I don't know where people get the idea that they will lose faith in the division when keener has killed their friends, civilians, and jtf/division agents
@@RogueWill83especially he knew the division can’t be trusted after what happened to Faye. He’ll probably put his trust on us now, third time’s the charm?

Agents..It's time.Gear up.We're going to Brooklyn.
Brooklyn is going to have to wait. It's been delayed to next year.
I can’t wait!! I wonder what we’re gonna do before that? Remember there’s a black tusk secret lair underground somewhere? Maybe a new “ underground “ like D1? I can’t wait to see what’s next

So the Devs have pulled a "Mission: Impossible" style death and return from death moment for both Aaron Keener and Theo Parnell too.
Part of me says this is totally lame and shows they have run out of ideas to move TD2 forward and we are simply on the long slow road, waiting for TD3 to arrive and yet the other side of me, is like "WTF, this is cool. Do we get the chance to now work alongside Keener, to build a new safe Haven from scratch and work on taking down Sokolova for good as the opening of The Division 3?"......... the Plot thickens.......
Great video as always.
NGN, thank u for making a clear story about every lore there is here in the division universe, i hope i get to talk to you in clan someday
I've posted this before on Twitter. But in a recording in WONY keener has himself and Dragov stop an important task to help and escort from Manhattan a fire fighter who even though he has his family with him runs into a burning building to save someone. Keener says he is impressed by his bravery. Maybe he bore a resemblance to keener.
And this is good? Saving Civilians and then massacring them in an Eclipse gas death?
I wouldn't be surprised if Keener managed to convince that firefighter to do his part.
It wasnt Dragov.
We'll, he was left for dead in the dark zone when the divison chose to not send help. So he's gonna think highly of someone that ran to the fire when everyone's running away.
I didn’t think it was likely, but it seems we may have to work together with him to stop the BT.
Maybe that’s why Keener left us with his old watch.
I wouldn't say black tusk, atleast not directly. Right now the division and the rogues agree on two things. They both hate hunters because the hunters both kill their agent, disrupt operations and need to end them to stop their meddling and second, both agree on the citizen front of prioritizing him(aka the reason why hunters want to kill current agents that are off mission). The area they differ is the rogues only mission is protecting the civs, the division has been spending its time being glorified hitmen, chasing after shadows.
It’s surprising we never qualified for multifactor this whole time whilst having his watch, wonder what it actually is or the requirements are
@@Esurient- everything seems to be pointing to us losing ISAC but gaining ANNA as our go to AI.
Bit of a head canon, I think he let us keep it as a sort of consolation prize or as a token of good will. He sees our potential and I think he’s convinced he’ll get us to see it his way.
@acgearsandarms1343 I mean keener has been able to set inside haven, yes that's him in the haven CCTV cutscene so it is possible that he managed to make peace with haven and we know roads messed with our watch so it could have trackers or anything roads could fit in it
A lot of confusion can be cleared up if you read the current books recruited, compromised, and hunted. It clears up what Nat is talking about with counter measure, and the Kansas node, etc. Kind of sucks they didn't do this in game, but it's understandable.
"These may be desperate times indeed ...."
Love the video!
Keener: You think my battle for the soul of the Division would come down to a gunfight with you? No, you always need an ace in the hole. Mine's Lau
Agent: What did you do?
Keener: I took the Division's white knight and brought her to our level. It was quite simple really. Madness is like gravity. All it takes is a little push.
That last quote sound a little like heath ledger 😭💀

BABE WAKE UP A NEW NGN VIDEO DROPPED
I love how the thumbnail is just Kelsos normal look, keeners “I will kill you“ look and then there’s Theo 😂👍
I personally love where this is all headed. I had hoped for ages that this is pretty much what would happen but didn't think the team would actually do it - to make US the bad guy because we screwed everything up.
All we're missing now is to find out our agent from Div 1 also took Keener up on his offer from that final dead drop, and for Div 3 to be all about the "Rogues" trying to win a civil war between Cal and Nat.
I think we'll just go "Rogue" for the DLC, kill McManus, and then go back to SHD. I'd be surprised if they do a brand change so big that we get rid of ISAC entirely. If anything we may see ISAC and ANNA be combined or something.
I’m happy that Keener and Theo are back because it makes sense. Theo had the decoy skill. If any other rogue agent was alive then I would question the Division story.
I demanded a decoy as it is, capable of shooting, moving and dying. Why does mine stay stiff without doing anything?
@@AZ-dj1ni there’s more to the decoy. That’s all it is because I can’t defend something that no one even has an answer too.
@President-Barack-Obama Probably just had it attached to a Riker and like Keener said, it's easy to trick ISAC with the hud etc.
I think this is where Division 3 comes in at, taking over and finishing what Kelso and Fae was after the events of brooklyn and the subsequent season afterwards. This shit is getting GOOD BOI!!!
My biggest issue with all of this, is how selective the story team is with ANNA and the ability to override ISAC. With the ability to completely and surreptitiously puppet ISAC, with Theo finding the exploit that allowed access to the other systems, the ability to make people unknown to ISAC;
Keener doesn't actually use this ability to covertly direct SHD Agents, instead, we've just been blindly following orders according to him, (that he could have given us via ISAC.)
It's debatable if Faye even needed to infiltrate BTSU in order to influence it. Viper is already in, give her one of Theo's Mobile SHD's with ANNA on it and have Viper connect it to DIAMOND and Bob's your uncle, Keener has full intel on BTSU and a killswitch on every piece of gear BTSU has, even just scrubbing any intel that BTSU had on him or his whereabouts.
Instead , we get this convoluted breadcrumb trail after a fake death, that Keener could have done at any point before Liberty Island. Heck, with that much control over ISAC he could have just made himself and people he needed, just be ignored and invisible to ISAC.
There is more a could go on about, like ANNA the superior AI being used as a Deus ex machina, People thinking Shaffer is the key to getting into BTSU, despite his credentials being locked out as an SOP for that kind of organization, if he was captured. The overall story is mostly fine, and even bits and pieces of the smaller lore is fine, but the plot is just really convoluted.
Keeners is a psychopath who uses and disposes of people to reach his goal. There's nothing much to it. And I still can't get over the fact that Faye still joined Keener after what happened to her sister. Lol it's crazy that the people keener kills, their friends join him.
So Keener pulled a Big Boss.
Kept you waiting Huh?
I've been waiting for what seems like an eternity for your video on this! YOU DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Thank You So Much!!!👍👍👍🙌🙌🙌😀😀😀

Whats interesting, least to me, is the minor comms from Nat.
She didnt sound as stoic as she usually is. She sounded panicked, scared and ultimately p!ssed (that her troops wasnt able to stop the Division)
I dont think her resources are as vast (unlimited) as it might seem. Sure, she has more tech (warhounds, and those massive drones) than Division does, however, i think shes begun to realize that DIAMOND isnt as capable as she once though, and perhaps she's afraid of getting beat (or left behind) at her own game. She might be starting to realize, that she's really not in control as she once thought.
I wonder what "countermeasures" and in which system she was talking about.
Furthermore, I wonder how much Nat knows about, whats going on (clearly enough to know, or at least think that Kassandra is a threat. But a threat to whom?)
How long has Nat (I assume) been following, at the very least, our Agents (and by proxy Kelso)
That is a good point
What I really want them to show in the future is that we will never truly trust Kelso again, or she has to fight really hard to gain our trust back. Kelso didn’t care to check on you, or trust you with this. The last time she went this far was with Agent Espinoza, who was killed because of Kelso’s reckless decision. She clearly doesn’t care enough about her fellow agents. Then there’s how far she’s willing to go. She clearly states on comm #26 that she is willing to do everything to stop the war, you know who else is willing to go too far to end the war! Keener was willing to kill an entire city with the Eclipse virus to win against black tusk. I want to see her starting to become like Keener and becoming a monster trying to stop a war. That she also has to fight to gain our trust again, because at this point, I don’t think Manny can take more of this madness where he doesn’t know who to trust, or if Kelso can’t trust us, then we can’t trust her.
I have a different idea, I think Kelso has ALWAYS been a double agent, but for THEM. I think ISAC tells us untruths about Rogues being dead when they aren't. I wonder if this is why ISAC was shut down and Kelso wanted ISAC back on? Perhaps ANNA is really the AI we should be using. I also think Rhodes and Bernitez knew Lau was not dead which is why they wanted her returned to NY. I am also suspicious of Manny - what better mole to have than one who is in charge of coms.
Remember The Recruiter's words before you killed him: "When you joined with Kelso you became Rogue", also Vikram tried to warn Manny about her after his rescue but Manny brushed it off.
Yeah, see, I really made sure Lau was neutralised and Keener also. I've always played the Division games, both from their release dates, with immersion (despite the bullet sponge thing but I learned to ignore that lol). That being, when I drop targets, they get a few more accurate rounds on target to make sure they stay down.
You don't need ISAC to tell you what you see with your eyes. Both Keener and Lau were killed in their gunfights with our agents.
So if that wasn't them, then the writers need to do some beyond sci-fi explanation of how full body, memory, and consciousness cloning had been achieved, allowing the rogues to have body doubles running around for them. Not to mention the amount of planning that would take.
If the Division was set a hundred or so years in the future it would work, but not in our time lol.

A real treat. What a time to be alive.
As I've said before, I always love hearing your thoughts on lore updates.
The revelation was truly shocking & it even made me questioned the Division so much, I was speechless & that maybe, Keener may have been right, even though I still despise him.
Ok, let's say he's right about The Division, he's also right about his philosophy of murdering everything weaker (like massacring civilians with his Eclipse Gas)?
@@AZ-dj1ni No, killing innocent people never justifies anything. It just makes people like him evil.

The real mystery here is how the hell did they get a working van up and running, let alone able to navigate the streets. My agent can hardly walk around lmao.
Maybe they found a working van with enough fuel to get them to Brooklyn.
And mind you, there are two factions (Roamers and Freighters) from the Recruited novel who also use vehicles
@@KrisarsThey ain't going to Brooklyn yet, they're heading towards DC. We're still a year out till the Brooklyn DLC.
So I'm actually okay with Keener being back. But I have to be honest, my initial reaction to Kelso being rogue was it broke my heart, she's my favorite character outside of my agent. But the look on her face kinda made me feel like she really didn't want to be working with Keener, but felt like she didn't have a choice. After listening to Keeners last message though, I get it. And I'm not gonna lie, I agree that it's only a matter of time before we get flagged as rogue.
One thing i noticed the other day while running Liberty Island was that in the area where they spawn a bunch of skills before the final arena, the automated voice that comes on your comms id "ANNA". I guess i just never paid much attention. It seems we were introduced to ANNA a long time ago and never noticed it.
First we heard of ANNA (AKA the "Rogue Network") was in WoNY.
Contrary to what was assumed in WoNY Theo didn't create, from scratch, the Rogue Network, he just got ANNA (mostly) operational.
Question for me is how, did Keener get the copy of ANNA to start with?
@@RogueWill83because Anna is still in the files of the mobile SHD servers buried deep. There’s Claire Ortiz and Alexander talking about it in descent comms. Claire thought to never actually delete ANNA as she was too proud of her creation and left her buried in files
@darksoulyt5549 yeah, I know.
It's not exactly common knowledge (among in game characters) that there's another system that was stored in the mobile servers.
If more people knew about it, I'd think they would attempt to extract ANNA earlier.
@@RogueWill83 when is the new season coming do you know?
I stopped playing a few years back and seeing this video reinvigorated my love for being a division agent. I told my cousin about keener he was like no way bro
After this video I still wonder if joining the rogue's is a smart thing, we have confirmed, Keener is manipulative, he still released eclipse on civilians, and he has only taken violent routes against the division. I feel like he's playing a bigger game, and it feels more like a fight for control between keeners rogues, and black tusk.
I agree with going Rogue BUT NOT with the mass murderer.
Still I wouldn't change anything, We continue fighting against BT and Hunters
@@AZ-dj1ni that’s the thing though, if we decide to go rogue, will manny and the JTF still support us? Hell Rhodes still doesn’t trust the division, even those who went rogue for infiltration while actually supporting the division. And again, with Keener it always feels like there is “more”…. And I feel like Keener will act as an ally, but like every ally, each has their own agenda.
Figured he would be back and that he knows about the hunters.
I probably wouldn’t be playing this anymore if not for your content. You manage to nail it every time! Great work as always!
One part that I can't stop thinking about but might be overanalyzing is Paul Rhodes. He said he fixed the glitch in ISAC that Theo used to fake his death in his manhunt. And also when we hunt down Keener, the part where we're trapped in the room with the two SHD crates, our objectives are hacked and cycle through different thing like "Who can you REALLY trust?" And "Kill Paul Rhodes" and I can't help but wonder why Keener wants him dead.
Red-Rings, I like that. I can respect being called a red-ring. Great video as always NGN! Def excited to see what they have cooking for the DLC. I wonder how many of the Rogue agents in the manhunts we have killed didnt end up dead; and i feel like we will be seeing some lead up to the DLC with Manny and Schaffer here in the next 2 Manhunts. Its nice to have Keener back honestly. Mr' 2 steps ahead of us was always nice to have chirping in your ear talking you through his idioms and propaganda. Your story telling is amazing. When are you putting out a Fan Film? Seriously!!!
What a great breakdown!
I always had my suspicions of Kelso after the Potomac Event Center Mission where she magically appeared after being down??
And she is the one who confirmed Keeners death, so it is possible she knew it was a decoy.
I like the simulation angle, especially with the whole descent mode.
Especially when Keener says "..you watched my lips flap through your contact lens.."

The lines between agent and rogue have been blurred for quite some time, weve been dedicated to manny and being the good guy that we failed to see that we are fighting a losing battle, i think kelso knew this too , along time before we or manny have , ive always thought that she operated on the outside of the division, shes known for a while and wasnt sure she could trust us , that final note tells me shd now does, the few missions weve ran with her she was testing us loyalty to her not the division , with the lines so blurred now between rogue and agent , something tells me that someone in the division is going to screw us over and well have to call keener for help
Yes, someone died but we were decieved, maybe with the AR lenses we wear ANNA and Theo created an image of Keener right in our eyes.

Goddammit, not Kelso... I liked her.
PS: no fucking alliances, anyone that sides with Keener will die.
Kelso hasn’t committed anything unforgivable yet. As long as she continues to not be a bio terrorist there is still hope.
@@jack727dave5 she allied herself with a bioterrorist. As far as I'm concerned, any agent rolling with Keener is a legitimate target.
It's sad to see that so many players are actually the sheep just blindly following orders that Keener thought we were.

This is awesome, I'm glad they brought them back. I was hoping Kajika was still alive as well. But im fine with this.
This is my last season, boys! It's ill be back for D3! Its been an honor!
Now what if Kelso is going undercover and having Keener think she's on his side 😮
Cleary this major twist was planned from the writers themselves from the start of WONY day 1 & EVERYTHING we did for the past 4 years was hinted as a sign of the SHD can't be trusted at all at this point & what we did was beneficial to both Cal & Natalia especially since they now have the manpower & resources while we don't at this point.
Cleary this finale was a major hint that we will go Rogue eventually to take on Cal & Natalia forces once & for all
Dang look someone who actually paid attention to the lore and saw this like others who actually listen to the story.
Way better than the many people crying saying keener being alive was a cop out lol those are the players who don't pay any attention at all
I think it wasn’t planned and this is just a loophole dug out deep within Ubisoft’s closet. They used Theo’s decoy as the loophole but shouldn’t do any more shenanigans or the story will be confusing.
I do hate we don’t have any good countermeasures for Hunters. Really annoying. You have to rely on brute force or your own skill to beat the. I’m hoping by using the Rogue(not Rouge) network, we might be immune to their hacking, maybe have new tech fight them with via skills.
@@President-Barack-ObamaThis was almost certainly planned from the beginning
That being said, I'm sure they won't pull a fake out death ever again lol
@@acgearsandarms1343I think we’re going to have the abilities to hack warhounds and quad copters like Keener did at the Statute of Liberty. The descent comms seem to hint at this with all these networks connected to ISAC, while few know about ANNA.
Perhaps, all agents will be giving an option to join Keener with evidence of Cal and Nat wrongful acts, without the knowledge of ANNA. Then, allow them to destroy ISAC for agents that refuses to join Keener. Theo may have created an ANNA separate from the Ortiz’s control.
The wait is over
I think they needed an AI other than ANNA for the Rogue Network since they all figured it out that it was compromised. So Cassandra could be a form of ISAC based on Faye. Hence, the immortal lines make more logical sense.
Great video, as always👍👍
I think she is not going rouge. That is not her watch in the video, it is Kassandra's.
i really hope that in the division 3 they give us the option of anna or issac, with different abilities and skills for each! soo hyped for this story and the third installment
I think we will all become ROGUE and wear the red WATCH and use ANNA in the division 3
I am calling it, division 3 is us becoming rogue and doing rogue missions and the real enemies are whoever the hunters work for. The division was a front from the start & the eradication of the first wave was meant to figure out who was part of that front or not. ISAC the Al is either the the enemy or being manipulated by the enemy
So will Shaffer's story pick-up in Brooklyn??? Or......
Was Kelso in on it since the "DEATH" of Keaner ? 😮 😲 I'm sold on his direction ad well...
3:07 I suspected something was wrong already when i did not see Isac Orange circle next to that Kelsos comm what u usually see there when u talk with division agents like kelso in older missions.
5:19 "Glasses" must be mean Theo because he used glasses
I still like waffles. And I still trust Kelso.
Telling you that Schaffer was trying to help Keener.
Well he will get us to that BT bunker in the end probly in third game after that crazy bitch Sokolova nukes Murika.
That would be annoying. We safeguard his unconscious body, losing people to protect him and he just leaves.
Hey mate absolutely love your vids, i come to them every time there's a new development in the story 🙂
Question, how do you get the headgear you're wearing at 14:19? Thank you 🙂
I came back to the game like a month ago and I couldnt be more happy with the direction its going
This could be the start of an undercover story inside the red rings. Manny...what are you going to do now...
Anyone else feel like we for the division 3 should go to Chicago
Im actually happy that Keener is back, the game just felt off with him "dead"
The way we "killed" Keener already felt lazy but this changes al ot
A lot*
If Rodes finds out about all this im sure he's gonna pop a blood vessel
But this final manhunt was a surprise to me, especially the Hunter didn't expect that honestly
I kill him on division two, but I didn’t know he was actually alive. This is a mystery.
I don't really play div2 anymore but still like to keep a eye on what's happening from time to time, these videos do perk my interest again though, level wise id be massively behind by now, looking forward to a new console division game though if it ever comes, very interesting keener is still alive though, wonder where this will all lead too
I was waiting for this video, since the bug denied Kelso last note to me (I know, rerun the manhunt) :) But there is one thing I don't get: We knew Kelso was shocked by that one crate that contained the present for Cassandra. So why would we open a crate in the middle of a deserted Battlefield without preparation? Sure, it is storytime, but seriously?
I agree with the thought, that we will walk into the grey area with ANNA, when Cal (as the acting president) will deactivate the ISAC-Network...
Also a little thought: It is not the first time that Kelso's watch is red. Back after we rescued Elanor from the Hyenas, while she was arguing with Odessa, her watch hat a decent red color too.
Anyway. Thanks to @NGN for the clip
I quite like the whole resurrection thing, with Theo and Keener it makes sense, those two were the most crucial to the plan. Kajika, Dragov and Conley were probably just stepping stones, tools to be discarded once their purpose was over. Kajikas desire for revenge and Conley and Dragov's loyalty to the Cleaners and Rikers respectively made them undesirable to keep around long term.
In regards to why our Agent and Kelso didn't immediately smell a rat is because Fae Lau (who was already in on the plan) intentionally reached out to Schaffer at that exact moment and reveal her betrayal in order to distract and disorient Kelso and the Agent, keep them from digging deeper (think "Keener is clearly dead and one our Allies has betrayed us, we need to move fast")
As for our whole showdown with Keener at Liberty Island.... What if the missile with the Eclipse payload was never meant to launch? What if Keener intended for us to stop the missile all along? Sure he used Eclipse in the attack on city hall at the start of the WoNY Manhunt but to a guy like Keener those casualties would be acceptable if they served a higher cause. The missile with the Eclipse virus was probably the bait that got the Division and the Black Tusk's attention for his 'Big Show'
They should have had Gen. Ridgeway survive and show exactly how brutal he can be. Some of these bosses fell way to easy.
Well, that would've complicated things. Because how would you have Peter Anderson in the picture if Ridgeway survived?
