- XDefiant is back and surprised everyone! It's a fun, free to play arena shooter but MW3 is right around the corner, let's discuss this now and potential release date. Leave a LIKE and a comment, thanks for watching.

Whats the problem with the game?
The no SBMM alone will keep me coming back to this. Also usually a couple months in people get mad at the current cod and this will get it’s boost in player base every year.

why would a casual player have to play like a sweat in order to have a good game if its SBMM with other casual players? do you guys listen to yourselves or read the things you type before you press enter? Lets take dark and darker for example right now. NOT HAVING SBMM means there are fully geared players running around in new lobbies. Same for this game... NOT having SBMM means you could get someone with a 10 kd in your game, thus defeating your point of trying to have fun casually

Aside from the mechanics being great, the lack of SBMM is one of the big features that make this game feel playable for long periods of time, but this is better experienced when playing multiple games in a row as opposed to doing so in any recent COD title. It's hard to get a proper feel of it just doing a couple rounds

There will be ranked if you want but to me fun is the end goal and sbmm actively works against that
@@Guarrowbasically a lack of Sbmm can cause issues where you just keep getting matched against folks of incredibly high or incredibly low skill ceilings with nothing able to determine it. With Sbmm you will get players “roughly” of the same skill gap whereas a lack of SBMM is entirely random. And before you say ranked mode most comp/“pro”/ high level/skilled players won’t pick comp usually.
SBMM is what took all the fun OUT of Call of Duty

As a predominantly solo player that has an average kd of 1.5 - 2.0, i can 100% confirm SBMM works aginst you having fun in any Cod that has come out since MW2019. Whatever happened to having fun in pubs.
I think XDefiant will have a small, dedicated playerbase but will generally under-perform.

I’m exited to try this game regardless of if MW3 is any good. I feel I would have enjoyed MW2 more if it had less harsh SBMM, so even if MW3’s mechanics are better, SBMM may put me off the game again. Adding more games to the playing rotation is always good! Excited to see what they do with it.
I’m tired of cod even tho my kd 1.50 my boys 2.0 etc we just tired of the jumping and sliding and hit makers like crazy.

They had outlined their content road map a while back so I think they'll be solid in that department; It wont be as comprehensive as COD tho. Really looking forward to have this in my FPS rotation. I just hope the grinds in this game are fun and rewarding.

Anyways, I used the auxiliary verb "had" to write my comment in the past perfect tense to highlight the fact that they announced their plans for the content stream prior to even announcing the release window of the game... which, at the time, was scheduled for late summer.

My comment was in reply to that specific section of his video; 2 topics. It was implied that my sentence was also speaking about the release of the game, placing emphasis on the fact that they announced content plans before announcing the release window. No shame in admitting that you failed to grasp that. Ultimately, my use of "had" IS justified. Now, I couldn't really care less whether or not you accept that tbh; I had some free time and didn't mind explaining. Also, and lastly, what we can really learn to do is mind the business that pays us if it's not that deep... How about that?

They've been super transparent on what's going on, which is awesome! They implied that most games fail the certification at least once, but most games are submitting well in advance of their release date so no one notices unless there's a delay.
I feel like this test they fixed a lot of the engine latency that was prevalent in the previous tests. I had almost no deaths around corners. Gunplay felt really good. My biggest worry is the abilities, they are not balanced at all. Healing field and crab bot are still super broken. I feel like this game would be amazing with a barebones/no abilities mode.
XDefiant will be huge. It’s just so much fun.
Im pretty excited for this. Especially it being free. I was really dissapointed with the MW2 experience and felt it was really not worth the 70$. I don't plan on buying MW3
For sure I will be playing on release. Regret buying MW3 SBMM, 1 good game and you suffer for 5/6 with the sweat lords, I just wanna play and chill not struggle my ass off to not be in a 1/1 kd 😂

I think this is a smart move for ubisoft. I've been saying cod needs to go f2p and back to it's roots and that's basically what this game is. I think it's going to do extremely well in the future.

Ubisoft has the opportunity to make a massive hit as long as suits don't mess with what these devs are doing
The main issue with this game is it is a Ubisoft game. People jumping shift from Activision just to get Ubishafted is funny

It has a lot of major problems right now, so that is pure delusion
I thought the guns felt weak (mainly because of the sounds being so low key) and I really don't like the hit marker effect the game uses but I like the movement, the maps and the more arcade like feel the game has. I'll definitely be playing this as well as MW3 because I'm a great believer in having more than one good thing on the go, I've never understood this attitude people have of taking sides when they can enjoy both but that's a trait people have been programmed with by businesses for a very long time. Overall I can't make my mind up about XDefiant yet having only played for a few hours last night because I missed the beta sessions but I feel it's certainly going to be worth playing and I'm very much looking forward to its launch whenever that may be.
I want this game to hurry up and release already.... ive missed out on every beta test 😢
when someone was trying to preload it bugged and it said under release date: October 1st 2023. not sure if that's 100% true but I think its very likely hence why they're doing this test to make sure everything works

this game is developed by ex-cod pros (cod4-black ops 2 era) which is why it feels the way it feels. the playerbase will be lager than expected when search and destroy is added
2.5mil touched the open beta I think it’s got a good chance people are ready for a team that listens to the community as a whole

It doesn't help that the beta wasn't open for Xbox one ps4 or PC js newer consoles
They havent fixed any of their problems since open beta though, so that is already a bad sign.
My biggest concern is rewards/unlocks for this game. Like in mw we have a battle pass and ofc weapon skins and attachments to earn and unlock but if this game is just a shooter with no progression unlocks or rewards it won't hold me for long because it'll feel like im playing for nothing but kills wich i can get in cod. Have to see

I played almost all the playtest of XDefiant and i felt like they changed something on this one. Idk if they slowed the movement or something but it was like i had not all the control of my movement. The 2nd sniper got a nerf ? More hit marker than all the other playtest gathered... i'm on pc btw
agreed. It also seemed much more buggy for some reason which is sad to see after all this extra dev time
The smartest thing the dev's did was drop Tom Clancy's name, after all, that name implied a quality and type that wasn't there.
I had a good time playing with friends during the open beta a couple months ago. Guns felt good. Movement was decent. Maps were well done for the most part. Great pacing. A satisfying kill sound. And no SBMM! That alone made the matches feel much more organic. Plus it is free to play. But that was just my personal experience. Hopefully it releases soon though. Would love to have something fresh to play for a bit.

I think the game is amazing
CoD already had payload game mode in Warzone 1 and it was my favorite game mode because it had 2 lines to chose where you want to go and there were lots of enemies to kill so it was also great for leveling up weapons
Also had Safeguard game mode in Blops 3 which is pretty much this too.
No SBMM and Pregame lobbies? Count me in. Definitely playing this game

XD will definitely get eaten by the bigger games if they release around the same time as them . And the average gamer doesn't really follow gaming news that much so most people won't know about xdefiant . I knew about xdefiant a while back but forgot about it until now. Alot of people overestimate how much gaming news the average gamer follows . They mostly get news of new games through state of plays or games con
To be honest I don't think it would make much of a difference after missing the initial release window. They should just drop it, let those who will complain do what they do and continue to work on the game like they planned on doing. Get more feed back from a larger pool of players and adjust.

Summer or spring release is immaterial to a free to play game.
Players don’t need to worry about what to spend their money on, so there isn’t an issue.
I personally think they are going to do well no matter the time it releases. It will scratch the itch for all the players that no longer want to waste their money with cod.

At least, XDefiant eventually having more and more colorful cosmetics makes sense with its tone. I dropped out of MWII with how bonkers the tone got flung out the window along with how rough the SBMM can get. I'm not going to pick up MWIII for a lot of reasons. So, might as well try XDefiant on my end when it does officially come out.
No SBMM is why this game will be so much more fun than MW3 in every aspect.

It had that small release window before CS2 and MW3 to get some traction and missed it. It baffles me why they didn't do a staggered release, console is the CoD domain, there's literally no market share for a free-to-play CoD clone. Also, it's advertised poorly, if the main news we get is that it failed console standards. Great!
XDefiant being free to play and NOT 200GB is what makes it good
We all need to keep in mind that this IS NOT ANOTHER COD GAME! This is a Ubisoft shooter game, I think if I remember correctly, this was supposed to be another Tom Clancy game, although I've never placed any Tom Clancy game, they obviously have had some experience making shooters. Can't wait to get in game and have new guns to test out, new game modes to test, ect.
Well, you should keep in mind ubisoft is also very alienated and anti-consumer company. People already hate ubisoft connect and just you wait till people actually read the tos and realize ubisoft will literally delete your account after half a year of inactivity. It's a lose-lose situation, it only boils down to which of these two companies you consider less lame.

It really depends if MWIII sticks the landing. Everything about it sounds good so far but we won't know until we have it. The matchmaking might ruin everything despite the gameplay improvements. But I can't deny if MWIII is actually good by some miracle, I'll be mostly playing that instead of xDefiant. I'm not a fan of the hero abilities or the Ubisoft aesthetic. The old school COD gameplay was all it had going for it from my perspective. And the transparency with players.

the only thing that may bother me with this game is the time to kill seems very fast and the abilities (especially invisibility) arent usually something i like in an fps game. other than that ill try it out
the ttk is way quicker in cod, i actually really like the look of this game because the ttk looks slower imo

Many people say that xdefiant is overhyped and I totally agree with them.
Played Xdefiant for the first time yesterday, and it was kind of underwhelming and felt no where near a “cod killer”. It kind of felt like an indie developer shooter like shatterline and it’s weapon sounds were not it. There was also a lot of desync and clunky movement but hopefully that’s fixed by launch.
It’s like those Roblox shooters that people were hyping up months ago. I don’t like cod either but come on, this game looks terrible😂

I for sure plan on playing this AND mw3!! I've loved both xDefiant betas so far that I've participated in and expect big things and hours of fun with it. Mw3 is just simply a must for me lol... Thx for the vid Jack!!
So either pay a lot of money for MW3 or play this for free? I think the answer is pretty clear considering how well this already plays. Also it might even run better than MW3 but thay remains to be seen.

cod has had an escort mode since black ops 3, i think it was called safeguard. They brought it back in black ops4 and i think cold war.
Thats how I feel like I'm just going to play this and MW3. Nothing wrong with playing both and especially how this wont have sbmm will be the more casual way to go.

They have to delay this until 2024 or the game will get swallowed up by COD. With COD essentially going back in time and giving us the classic feel most of us want, people are gonna be all over it. If this game launches after the honeymoon faze of the new COD it'll do extremely well right away. I'm really excited for this game and truly hope it does really really well.

I'll definitely be playing XDefiant instead of mw3. I hate having to spend ANOTHER £60 on a game which will probably just be left to die like MW2019 was. XDefiant is made by ubisoft which is instantly a big win for me personally plus they have a dedicated team working on it who will continue to work on it, not just all leave to a new game like the cod devs do every year. XDefiant for me :D

The gameplay looks fun enough to at least give it a shot. Really depends on how Ubisoft plans to monetize the game though.

A lot of gamers seem to play new games out of spite now
i mean, this game mode alone makes this game interesting to me. and the fact that it's free2play of course. as someone who doesn't play a huge amount, i don't feel it's justified to spend 70€ each year for a new cod game. this being a live service from a big publisher, one can assume that it sticks around for a while.

The gun mechanics look fantastic….. exactly how I like shooting in games, bullets go where you shoot, and people actually die when you shoot them. Ubisoft shooters have always been my favorite, but imagine if Rockstar came out with a real PvP FPS Shooter….. it would take the world by storm.

Mw3 is in a mixed spot with the user base also xdefiant what help probably is free to play and more akin to the older call of duty alot of people miss that.
I am going to be playing this for sure. I am hoping my friends will join me as well but one of them dose not play many FPS games and the other is kind of a big COD fan. MW3 seems like it will be a nice change of pace but I probably wont get it just because $60 or $70 for a game is just meh to me lately. I hope XD dose good, I had fun with the test and hope that keeps up.
I think they are aiming for an end of October release - I am pretty sure Mark spoke about this in a blog post.
From my side I won’t be playing Mw3 this year. Since cod 4, I’ve been all years grinding my multiplayer. But Mw2 and warzone 2 just made me say: “I’m done with it”. I will be playing at least XDefiant all year long.
This look more like Call of Duty than Call of Duty. I can't wait to try this. I just want classic cod.
As of 9 days ago, the game is moving smoothly, but they don't want to release it too early, they still may release it 2023
Snipers doesn't have close and medium range optics in XDefiant, hoping they will be added in the game.
Also some new attachments that I wanted to see in the game like

-Subsonic to make less noise but it will velocity reduction.
-Hollow Point increase damage and sacrifice penetration efficiency.
-FMJ bullet velocity travelled faster and improve wall efficiency.
-Tracer enhance brighten visibility of incoming bullet.
Tracers would be for your bullets not incoming but I get what you mean

I will definitely try this out since it will be free to play. However if cod really is changing what they say then I will most likely just play that! Personally I don’t like the powers that Xdefiant has so that turns me off a lot
Will definitely be trying this out. I’m sick to death of sbmm in cod for absolutely no reward. You are effectively punished for being a good player. The cod devs are clueless too, hopefully this game can push out regular top tier updates
Honestly you’re completely right. I think xdefiant will be the casual player base and mw3 will be the usual. However, almost every player I’ve ran into doesn’t play many games before getting off. Xdefiant is a perfect game to get on after a tough time on Mw2/Mw3
I would argue it releasing AFTER COD is a plus. The recent streak is people flock to it for the first month, realize it is terrible, and then get left with an unscratched COD itch. This game might release at the perfect time when people want COD but already hate the COD that just released.
I’ll try this out since it’s F2P but it it looks just like a COD knockoff. I’m burned out on COD so I don’t see anything that this game does differently that will keep me. The Finals is the game that can make a splash. Don’t know why we have heard basically nothing about it.

MW3 is more like MW1 2019, not like the old CODs brother, there's a huge difference.
XDefiant releasing alonside MW3 doesn't change the fact that XDefiant is what a lot of us COD players wanted, a BO2 style gameplay with no bullcrap SBMM and proper progression.
They said the next beta is late January but it’s PC only. I’ll be ready this time 😎
At this point, I’ll try any new FPS over COD or Battlefield.
I was so keen for the maps in MW3, but damn, even the nostalgia cant make it fun. Ill be swapping over to XDefiant for sure, free to play is a bonus

It doesn't matter what they did with modern warfare 3. If they didn't take out the skill base matchmaking and skill based damage and fix the terrible servers the game is going to suck.

I feel like they missed the boat tbh. This should have been ready for release around summer when we didn't have anything new to play. Now there's tons of new games out and still more coming so me personally I don't see myself putting any time in this anymore.
