The new skate design is so nice on the DAV3HS and VV3Pro, genuinely love what razer has been doing recently, just a shame the flare issues still persist, almost feels sharp at times to grip
did the same, and I fucking hated it. Sending it straight back after 1 day. Overall everything felt quite nice, better than older razer stuff like coating etc. but the clicks are still not my thing, better but a bit too chunky still. But something about razer mice even on this one I can't aim for days with this one. I even swapped to my horrible first patch, double clicking, xlite v2 mini that I haven't used for years and it felt million times snappier. My aim was right there and right back. It felt like the cursor was my hand, not with the dav3 hs. It was extremely minimal but there was something off that I felt. my aim also felt so jittery going from one target to another back and forth, the control was just not there for the easiest things and it must be 100% something about razers sensor implementation for me, even tho it's probably the most flawless sensor out rn but everyone has their own stuff I guess. I haven't felt this bad of a mouse control in a decade. I updated the mouse and dongle and checked if settings or anything were off but no. Don't get me wrong, the mouse worked perfectly fine it wasn't something you'd drastically feel right away, just on a performance level if you have comparisons from years of gaming and a bunch of other mice. Every other mouse I swapped to felt snappier in games and I was way more precise for even stuff like aiming from heads to heads with quick flicks. Seems like razer is just not for me feel wise. Their mice throw me off every time for aim stuff. I don't know how people can use their mice
I was looking to get this but I had never bought an ergo mouse. So I looked for similar shapes in similar sizes. I bought the attack shark r1 for 25 bucks (if you compare on eloshapes it is basically exactly the same shape) mind you this mouse has an older sensor that only does 18000 DPI at 1000 hz.And it also has no coating it’s just plastic (does come with grip tape). But for the rest I actually love the mouse, I ended up buying the actual DAV3 hyperspeed. And the lack of difference is crazy, yes it has a better sensor and it has a nice coating but the price difference in Europe is 100 bucks. Not saying the r1 is some amazing mouse (it isn’t the skates suck I had to replace, the DAV3HS obviously didn’t need this) but it could be an option if you are in the market for a DAV3 hyperspeed but don’t have the money.
I just bought the DAV3HS and I have 17.5x10cm measurements on my hand. I'd say if you use a relaxed clawgrip or palm grip hybrid like I do, you won't notice the flare in the top right of the mouse. In fact, now that I'm conscious of it, my ring finger along that side is being cradled by it somewhat. I guess this mouse is meant for people that want a Deathadder but don't like how big it is. Razer took the opportunity to finetune it and upgrade it rather than just shrink it down, though which is great.
Upgrade is false. Its a slightly downgraded DAV3 pro, ever so slightly worse by using an older sensor (apparantly 3395 equivalent rather than 3950 equivalent).
Ive been a logitech(gpx) and zowie ec2/3 prisoner for a long time but i used the viper v2 pro occasionally then when the dav3 pro came out i was praying i could switch to a more updated hardware ergo instead of the ec but way too big and the viper v2 was great but my grip would put my ring finger in a spot to get pinched to hell and i couldnt stand it for long sessions. the viper v3 pro and this dav3 hs have basically become my mains. i cant lie im still using gpx 1/2 constantly but the viper is so well built and I think its truly the best mouse ever made and the dav3 hs is the closest to an ec2/3 size ergo with super competitive internals. Razer has been absolutely killing it across the board. Their hall effect keyboard has surpassed the ap;ex pro and is pretty much on the same level as wooting overall other than the customizable, but if you want a keyboard to plug in and use stock it is basically on the same level as wooting. I have close to 40 mice from the past few years and my desk consists of a gpx 1 and a gpx 2(i have different skates on them both so i switch back and forth because im a lunatic) then the dav3 hs and viper v3 pro. We are in gaming mice heaven in the latter half of 2024.
100% with you on the front flare. The mouse itself felt so insanely good but the strain it puts on my pinky and ring finger just doesn't work for me. Too bad.
The point of leaving it like the bigger brother is probably because auf the big audience bagging for a smaller Deathadder. Changing the shape would be against this. Also I think people who have other complaints about the mouse beside the size, won’t buy a smaller version anyway.
great video! I agree on the front flare - unusable for my grip w same hand size. Also ,will you be reviewing the updated hts+ anytime soon? HTS+ shape > all
Thank you 💛 Glad I'm not the only one with that issue. HTS+ was my main since it released until recently, definitely one of my favourite shapes of all time.
@@jakeufpsWhat's the main nowadays? Edit: saw your answer in another comment. Thanks as usual for the thorough review! I think you're the only one that mentioned the front flare 😭
Hi man, I know that this is a bit random and also a big ask but I just wanted to know how the black p-51 compares to the dai dai orange zero speed wise
Hey! It's been a long time since I used the P-51, but I'd guess the ZERO is certainly more textured but also slightly slower in overall speed. Could be wrong, though, since it's certainly be a while...
No worries man, thanks for the info :) I mean what you’re saying adds up because you reviewed the es-2 and said that the es-2 was 5% faster than then orange zero and then went on to say that the es-2 and p-51 are clones, which means that the p-51 should be slightly faster than the zero too in theory.
OP1 8K, VV3 Pro and ATK F1 Ultimate are all great so far (although my F1 does creak on the left side sometimes since it's a first batch model) Don't have a hard main since I need to use new mice at all times
@@jakeufps Thanks for replying my question. So another question.I will be happy if you answer that one also. I have 17-10 cm hands and with relaxed claw , what do you recommend. I'm using superlight for 2 years but hurts my wrist after using it for a long time. Tried thorn for a few days but that mouse pushed me to use palm grip. That mouse was bulky as well so I returned it. I don't know if I need a small ambi or ergo so I need your advise. Thanks again. I highly appreciate your videos keep doing it.
Hey, do you have a Video or can you recommend me a wired Keyboard that is based af. High Quality, no bs features, no plastic etc. the Keyboard edition from the mice Endgame Gear OP1 8K
This mouse hurt so much, even though I wanted to love it so much. Excellent stock feet, amazing buttons and scroll wheel... But the shape pfff. 1. weird flare 2. sharp lip 3. "sharp" ergo hump
@@mohammedyahyaalraiez5546 I would recommend it for all grips. I (17,5x9 medium-fat 😂) really liked it, but felt like my hands were just too chonky to fit around the mouse. My thumb muscle would hurt because of the left hump and my pinky and ring finger wouldn't sit super comfortably on the flared side. I think for most people with small to medium sized hands it's the perfect mouse. If my thumb joint wasn't so thicc, I probably would've overlooked the side flare.

Same here. This mouse exceeded my expectations as I didn't like the Viper Mini so I took a gamble with this smaller DA and I absolutely love it!
Same! Was swapping between ULX medium and Viper v3 Pro and got this with the plans of returning it if I don’t like it. But now it’s my main lol
same I was expecting to have to change my grip but the damn thing is like its molded for my hand.
There are dozens of us who love the front flare and miss the V2.
Thank you for addressing the flare issues, I had this on many mice, for some reason some ppl like it, though it's not natural in my opinion
I wanted to buy it but here in Australia the price is raised ($179 AUD at official retailer) so I’m probably gonna wait for Black Friday

You can reduce the weight some more by replacing the stock skates with some dots.

Hey, great review. How do you think the clicks compare with the Thorn? I would like the Thorn's to be a bit easier to actuate.
Actuation weight is about the same, but the clicking experience is much nicer on the DAV3 HS
Hi is the g wolves hts plus good for relaxed fingertip hand size 17*9.5 cm i have x2v2 mini i dont like lower button height
Hey, could definitely work!
The flare issues are so real. It's even worse on the normal DAV3. It makes the mouse feel really bad if your grip naturally rests near it
i feel like that's most/all Razer mice.
I really do wonder why they kept it this way despite remaking the shape, hopefully they'll address it on their future remakes.

@@bastyyg8771 exactly what Jake mentions in the video. There’s a flare at the bottom with a sharper edge that’s uncomfortable to grip

+5 points for the waifu mouse pad
does it have the same middle click issues?
No issues on my unit so far.
how is it with comparison for deathadder v2 mini ?
are you going to review the Logitech g309?
Most likely not due to their high weight using AAA/AA batteries, but I'll think about trying out the shape.
