Anime parents are usually dead unless the series started in 1999, because then instead you have the "Bye son, I'm gonna be off-screen and do absolutely nothing until the very very end" trope.
Very much agreed. I remember a similiar point being made on Terrible Writing Advice's video on the nature of cliches which I think applies here as well
@@NightSkyNyx Yeah, tropes and cliches can be used to great effect, you could make a story with nothing original and only cliches and still make a very good story if the utilization is right. But some authors just use cliches as if someone was using a hammer to screw a screw or a screwdriver to hammer a piece of metal
yeah but if the trope is about an adult having an obsession with a young girl then...you cant really say its a tool. or supposed high schoolers getting sexualised.
Spoilers Nayuta did not made Denji exactly happy, i think that even Makima gave him more happyness than Nayuta, even if we made a joy/sorrow ratio, Makima still beeing a better option
“A visitor? Hmm… Indeed, I have slept long enough. The kingdom of heaven has long since forgotten my name, and I am EAGER to make them remember. However, the blood of Minos stains your hands, and I must admit… I'm curious about your skills, Weapon. And so, before I tear down the cities and CRUSH the armies of Heaven… You shall do as an appetizer. Come forth, Child of Man… And DIE.”
People have referred to it as "the b*tch slap". Happens a lot more when a girl does it to a guy than when a guy does it to a girl (which is pretty much never) or when a girl does it to another girl (which is very rare but does happen at times).
When they scream and constantly shout and talk loudly and over other people and get REWARDED for the most horrendous self-centered behavior possible(shouting in public, loudly introducing oneself to a crowd, running up to an important person and spouting some nonsense, etc.)
When I first read Naruto, I thought Anko was being mean. Later on, I realized she was just warning him about letting his mouth write a check that his ass couldn't cash.
Omg I hate is when the girl says something like I don't like you or something and when the guy says it back they start crying like they just said the same thing as you
This reminds me to a short really relationship, i wanted to end her... but she ended me first, and i was mad, not because it hurted my feelings, but i wanted to said it first
One troop that I really HATE is the stumble that leads to a boob grab. It's a insta eye roll to me. Btw: nice channel, I reached your channel from the bilingual problems and I'm loving it! Nobody asked, but I'm Brazilian too!
if you watch only 2 or 3 animes then the trops are fun and enjoyable. but once you start watching more animes you start to realise that anime is 95% tropes pulled out of a hat. anime characters are the most one dimensional characters in all media.
That's every media, not just anime. Tropes are necessary for story telling, something having a trope or cliche does not make it bad, it's how they use said tropes
99% of the anime girls: shy, cute, sweet, likes shojo anime, simps but says baka! or slaps the male mc if theres a awkward position or suggestive lines, fan service of feet and everything else, very girly whereas 1% of the anime girls: *zoro*
Personally I really hate the “popular” beautiful princess or whatever in high school as if everyone will collectively agree to giving someone that title and then she’s in love with the “talentless” forgotten MC that looks like every other anime dude. Then comes the freakin “baddies” chasing him
@@JyunaYT that’s another thing that irks my soul. Dude all of a sudden they care? Or the childhood friend became popular but the people she hangs out with goes unnoticed?
My least favorite trope is definitely "overly clingy sibling" because they're usually there just to cause problems and be annoying about it because they are way too obsessed with their sibling. i get being protective of their sibling and even moreso if their family has been through things but there is a point where it becomes unrealistic and painfully obvious that its just the creators fetish. I've dropped so many series because of this even some i liked and some that had good sibling realations but then turned it weird. A big tell for this is what happens when one walks in while the other is changing (which is very common), the normal response when this happens is to walk out, close the door and apologize but 9/10 they freakout yell "kyaaa pervert!" And slap the person as they panic, as if it is the first time they have seen eachother naked and it's been done on purpose, which if you live with someone for your entire life is unlikely.
How to subvert audience expectations: - Give a character every death flag you can - Make them get into a life threatening situation that would be perfect for them to die - Have them survive Peak writing
This is that show where there's a kid with gems or smth that makes him have superpowers that at the end the grandpa seems to die (had like 90 death flags) and doesn't hahaha though it's a kids show obviously haha.
EXACTLY!!! why can't they just dress cute, have cute hobbies, etc instead of making 18 year olds sound like one of those adult toddlers (no hate to the voice actresses tho)
@@JyunaYT YEAH!!! Like I loved some anime characters that were cute and OOP! No high pitched voice in them. That fricking points out that you still can make a cute anime girl without high pitched voice.
My least favourite has to be fan service, over sexualisation, and anime girls talking like they're four, and I don't even mean the voice thing. I mean the way they talk.
01:30 “‘Tis but a scratch!” - the Black Knight, upon losing his entire left arm, _Monty Python and the Holy Grail_ (I really like that particular trope in that movie because they play it relatively straight but use it as a joke)
The type of trope i hate is "Abuse for comedic purpose" or "Doormat MC", both sometimes go in tandem. These tropes honestly make me drop a series and never touch on it again (And this is coming from a guy who believes harems can work) Edit: 6:06 Oh! This one too! One of my biggest gripes are with @$$h0le characters that get off easy, or killed off to easy. Call me a sadist, but i want them to *know* pain after what we viewers had to sit through
Yep. As much as I love MHA, the one thing I can’t STAND is how Izuku acts like a battered wife around Bakuhoe! He’s CONSTANTLY saying how heroic that Bastard is and how he’ll be a great hero, while we consistently see behaviour that proves the opposite. And even worse than that, Horikoshi writes all the other characters out of character specifically to defend and justify Bakuhoe’s actions. And yet somehow he has an adoring fan base of delusional simps that think his “development” is actually good and not completely shit.
I HATE the trope where the girl bullies a guy she likes then acts surprised or cry when mc doesn't want them Edit: Actually, I got one more, the trope where EVERYONE is an asshole to the person with enough power to kill them all, WHILST being fully aware of their power
@@blindcandyboo I hate the "Innocent Punching Bag" trope. Jerry from Parks and Rec is a good example of this. Dude gets shit on for no reason, he's just a jolly dude
I'd rather have that first one than her getting off scot-free and nobody even acknowledging that said bullying could be anything but cute and desirable and certainly no worse than moderately exasperating for any guy.
0:10 fan survace ITS ANNOYING AND RUINS EVERYTHING AND THE ACTION LIKE BRO but like there are 2 action anime that doesn’t have it kaiju no 8 and windbreaker they are good action shows that have good plots and don’t sexualize women like please help me find more cause i want no fan service
I have more tropes In Romance Anime The Couple usually Gets into the most…. Sexual Positions in the universe. And the next day they talk to each other like nothing happened. LIKE WHAT THE HELL. And then there’s The Demon lord Cliche In Isekai Anime. Seriously WHY DOES IT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE DEMON LORD. WHY NOT GIVE THE VILLAIN A UNIQUE CHARACTER INSTEAD OF DOING A GENERIC DARK LORD. And Then there’s The Overdramaticization of Sickness in anime. I mean there’s one anime That Where a woman gets a Flu from standing In the Rain To Long. AND SHES BEDROUND AND CAN,T GO TO WORK AND HAS HER BF TAKE CARE FOR HER.
BRUH SO TRUE!! if anyone in real life bumped into someone of the opposite sex and got into a weird sexual position (which is already VERY UNLIKELY to happen without someone getting a concussion), I'm SURE they wouldn't be able to look at each other in the face the next day from embarrassment lmaoo and in romance anime, why the hell do they always have to have a "love interest got a cold" episode?? I didn't quite get the "typical food baby thing" tho wdym?
@@JyunaYT I mean in a lot anime I seen there’s a certain joke where a character eats to much and their stomach grows a lot and a few seconds later they are back to normal. Thats gotta be some Kinky ass shit that Japanese Creators have. I mean why do a lot of anime I’ve seen have this joke.
I was just thinking about the demon lord cliche a while ago. I was like “why are there always a demon lord in isekai or in fantasy?” Like I’m tired of it
At this point, I’d rather be wishing the next Isekai to have any other antagonist other than an unseen little-known generic demon king or whatever. Where’re the Vamps? The cultists? The God Kings/Queens? The Dark Elves? The Necromancers? The Wicked Witches of whichever direction the writers agreed on? The Orcs? The Snake People? And most of all, to quote a certain medieval TH-camr, “WHAT ABOUT DRAGONS?!?”
“Food baby thing” is just an over exaggeration to show that the character ate a lot. Its the same thing as when a character gets hit and a bump appears on their head. I’m sure that theres people out there who have that as their kink but its often drawn with innocent intentions as well. Not everything that looks weird to you is sexual
Fanservice tropes Bland/Doormat MC's Tsunderes in general Oversexualization OP Mcs without work/ training Horrid backstory-Orphan/Fatherless/Family tragedy
YES THE VOICE ONE I love Maomao from Apothecary Diaries lol And Shigeo Kageyama from Mob Psycho 100 has both parents, so that's a plus (he basically has three with Reigen too lol)
One trope I don’t like: The Faster but More Dangerous way to learn something in just a few days. Because you know DAMN well, unless it’s a Fallen Hero Story, they’re not gonna actually be stopped by the danger. It’s just an excuse to give them the skill they need there and then.
Yeah... Zenitsu is annoying as hell with that but at least he (unconciously mostly, except for protecting Tanjiro's box) did something. Mineta could not exist at all and only change would be that anime is way more enjoyable...
true! i also lived in japan for a while and it's not uncommon to see irl women high pitch their voices to make themselves sound more friendly or cute! not quite to the anime girl voice level but it's definitely a cultural thing loll
They aren't kids, they're grown women who want to act womanly. In fact I believe most men dislike high-pitched voices and that both kinds of people prefer a mature-sounding one
I watched many videos where the creators talk about "Anime Tropes" but mostly the common one's. But your video was the first one where you talked about the uncommon Anime Tropes too. It was my first time watching your video. Absolutely subscribing your channel. Can't wait to check all your videos including the new one's. Wishing you for a good health. 😊
@@JyunaYT It's just a little weird to criticize the "Anime Girl Voice" troupe, while you yourself have a similar sounding voice. It's like if you were criticizing fanservice, while drawing your character in a bikini the entire video. Nothing wrong with personally not liking one or other thing, as everyone has their preferences, but when you do the same thing you criticize, intentionally or not, people will notice. That's why some people point out your voice sometimes sounding similar to an "Anime Girl Voice".
aaa....now i realize something...sorry guys 😭 In the video with "anime girl voice" I meant more like the infatilization and trying to sound overly cute. like 18 year olds in anime saying "nya" and stuff. the "uwu voice" or "baby voice" i guess? i didnt mean to bash on normal girly voice loll I thought that saying "anime girl voice" would've been typically understood. but i should've explained better
3:16 bro, I just noticed. All of my ocs are parentless! Why did I do this?! I saw I was only trying to kill their tribes/kingdoms/twon not their parents! 😭
One trope that I really dont like is fan service type clothing. I'm watching anime for the art and story, not for that stuff. Thats one of the reasons I like the Kaiju No. 8 anime rn (also because its beautiful and well dubbed).
the moment you mentioned attack on titan I instantly knew who u were talking about because hes just known for just SURVIVING EVERYTHING in the series atp omg
@@JyunaYT It's just like if due the awful things Reiner has done, he has to live with his sins and despite how much he wants, he won't just die, because that would be an easy way out, and he has to see for himself that the world it's cruel, but it's also so beautiful that it's worth fighting for. Man I cried so hard at the ending. Ps: Yeah Reiner is my favorite character of all fiction. OH DAMN I WASN'T SUPOSED TO SAY THE NAME. srry don't read this if u haven't watched Aot :)
Counterpoint: People with good parents and a safe, stable childhood don't go on adventures. They're usually significantly more physically and mentally capable than the average with a balanced and well rounded sense of perspective. Someone who has a strong emotional, fiscal and physical support network ain't gonna have many dramatic or entertaining solutions to their problems. It's like trying to threaten non-traumatized Batman with Superman's powers. He could already outsmart and outspend you as a baseline human. How ya gonna stop him now that he can simply out-strength you?
To be fair this Jyunna girl seems tolerable. This is my first video of her I've seen but she talks calmly and quietly which is tolerable. Most anime girls who talk with the high pitched chipmunk voice are loud and obnoxious as all hell.
I think death flags can be a double sided sword, a good example would be a certain someone from 86 part 2. It sort of sowed the seed for something else and propelled the world building of it. I think same goes for power of friendship it's usually just a plain ol' trope but something like the Penacony story quest in Honkai Star Rail really really shot it through the roof kudos to them. Also personally I LOVE the chuunibyou trope and those ironically self aware "ikemen" like Himmel from Frieren journeys end
Loll I haven’t watched 86. Is it good? Also I LOVE HIMMEL 😭😭 HES A CONFIDENT KING And I agree!!! If those “tropes” are done properly and not made into a too plain and overly simple narrative it is a great tool!
Definitely give 86 a try, blends military and drama quite well. Although it's a mech anime, the types of mechs are closer to tanks instead of anthropomorphic ones.
3:44 that hairstyle is a death flag. Start paying attention how every character that have that hairstyle (Especially if its a mom) dies, sooner than later
The trope I don't like is the lollygag if you don't know what that is. So basically imagine a character in the anime who looks like a young little girl look 8 or 11.... They're actually 1 billion years old like what the fuc-
I can't think of anyone rn who fits this description, so I'm gonna ask you, what about characters like Impa, from The Legend of Zelda series, or do you mean like esthetically not meant to expand the story or the Cast of characters, like Purah from Zelda BotW/ToTK
About the dead parents: the only anime I ever watched (and the one that caused me to start learning Japanese) also has the main character's mother die, but in that case it actually affects her. And the viewer doesn't immediately see that the mother is dead, the viewer in the beginning just sees a 17yo Japanese girl who is living a pretty grey and happiness-less life. SHe had even lost her interest in making music. And what happens during the main storyline is what gets her back into a better mental state and in the end everyone is happy. The anime I'm talking about is "Belle: the dragon and the freckled princess", in my eyes a recommended watch if you're into anime.
When expressing anger, anime characters keep repeating that word (no idea what it is, like i keep hearing"ja ne"), which is always stuck in my mind, making me express the same way while dealing with jokes from friends. I'm getting sick of that kind of mindset i created.
Are you sure you were hearing the words Ja ne? Because I was learning how to speak Japanese a while back and that phrase came up, but no as a show of anger, but more like a goodbye to someone you know well. I also looked it up just to make sure and it says on google that it means "see ya" when translated into English.
2:20 this specific trope is used frequently in JJK. Often times they’ll be able to play it off with actually good explanations, like Gojo in premature death but sometimes like with Geto in that same episode it just comes off as lacking. Like oh, he was healed? Cool, I guess we’ll just forget he was completely dead! But regardless it is a great anime I highly recommend it.
hahaha truee I do like JJK, but they do use that trope with both the villains and the protagonists but really, which shonen anime hasn't used it? lolll
Ever noticed in rom-com anime where there's always: - a love triangle - a "childhood friend" - a festival episode - a tsundere - most of the time, clumsy mc 💀
awww thank you!! 💚💚 I love her videos!! 🥺 and i actually watched her videos of anime tropes again to make sure i don't cover the same tropes as her haha
Literally I couldn’t agree more with all these bro😭😭😭😂 like continuously fighting with missing limbs and broken bones??💀(I get it to an extent but it’s always that way yet I love it🥲)
@@JyunaYT 😭😭😭like howwwww???!! but my first thought was literally demon slayer when u mentioned it like how does anybody in that show physically go on 🥲 (I still love it tho😂🤦♀️)
Well they are superhumans so the adrenaline rushes they get are gonna be far more crazy than anything a normal person would get plus some characters just straight up have abilities that allow them to do so For example in soul eater's manga blackstar eventually unlocks low level toonforce abilities that allow him to hold lasers, float and of course fight with broken bones
@@strawberrymuffn_8tbf they are superhuman and do have long recovery times throughout the story, but yeah tis overplayed in general and the demon slayer anime adaptation exaggerates it too
The only type of fanservice I found annoying was with darkness since it got repetitive. Everything else was fine for the most part and was funny as it should be.
@@thatpoorlonelyguywhonobody2143 all characters got simplified on the anime, Kazuma and Megumin are fine, Aqua is a little but more annoying... but Darkness... bro, there are scenes were she got sad by the mistreating, and they changed that for excitement
@@marcosgonzalez4207 , light novels often don't get the adaptation they deserve. A lot of the the content, characterization and developments were cut from the light novel which makes me sad. I already knew it is not the greatest adaptations the moment I looked at the cheap art style. I wished they looked more like their novel counterparts But despite all of that, I still have fun with that show. It is pretty enjoyable
I in the other hand, love fatal injury excuses, it isn't quite "love" but I feel so relived when a character "dies" and then reappers, instead of me begging on tears to them be somehow still alive
I'm surprised that I've never heard the term life flags since your explanation makes sense. Bonus points since it seems to be an incredibly unpopular opinion that fiction/fantasy should be escapism. Oh, and I would've said in media for the last trope since I was replaying the base storyline in GW2 when the mentor for the Vigil mentions out of nowhere that his two closest male relatives died in battle...I know that you're not supposed to put your best foot forward. Nothing about that should've struck any of the writers as clever.
loll I'm sure there's a better term out there for the "life flags" trope haha and idk much about GW2 but i think informations like "i lost someone important in my life" should be kept hidden until people are interested enough in learning about those characters. otherwise it just doesnt have the same impact cuz you don't care enough to know about their backstories yet ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
3:27 when I was first new to anime I decided to try and watch aot and my GOD did it traumatize me i wasn’t expecting that and and you find out he thinks it’s his fault ( u know who im talking about) and THE WHOLE STORY IS CONFUSING
This is called redemption, something very popular in fiction in general, and not just in anime or Eastern media. It's the idea of compassion that "anyone" can change regardless of what they've done. Which is not wrong in part, it just has to be well constructed redemption, punishment for what the character did, and so on.
Redemption if its written well is good like John Marston and Arthur Morgan but in animes the former villain redeems themselves and then forgot everything they done and nobody within their world mention it

Demon slayer spoiler alert Demon slayer also has a very good way of having the characters mourn over the death of others. For example, when tanjiro’s family died, he became a demon slayer to avenge them (and turn his sister back to a human). When rengoku died, the trio started to view the world differently and it worked better for them because tanjiro learned a lot from it and it changed the entire series. So if tanjiro’s family didn’t die, he wouldn’t have become a demon slayer and probably wouldn’t have beaten muzan in the end
Oh dang, I thought you were going to talk about the underage sister complex trope but you were gonna talk about death flags. Thank you for not ruining my day
1:14 No because this is legitimately what happened to lil Goku in the Demon King Piccolo arc, but worse. He literally had THREE of his limbs broken (his left arm and both his legs), he was laying on the ground helpless and unable to fight, yet still managed to hold the victory in the end because Piccolo Sr. was incompetent and left *one* arm unscathed. Idc tho since the fight was magnificent
A few anime tropes i have seen very often that completely RUIN the anime for me (mainly isekai/fantasy) The mary sue/gary stu, in this case is where they are the most perfect being in every aspect and are very OP and untouchable, they are liked by everyone and can solo every fight (yes im looking you isekai male MC's) So i went ahead and a wrote a well written MC that doesnt involve being OP, having a harem and no fan service. We have a male 23 year old college student living with his girlfriend, both loving parents and a few friends. The MC dies and is reborn in a modern fantasy world with again both parents this time (im tired of parentless tropes), he doesnt have any cheat system or OP ability, but rather he gets stronger by improving and adapting overtime, he losses and thats the point, he meant to loose most fights so he can bounce back and get better, he uses his keen perception and IQ to evade situation he doesnt want to get stuck and be able to outsmart most characters.
yoooo i totally forgot mary/gary sues!! they're so annoying as if they don't have any character or human flaws wth and you're writing an isekai MC with no harem, is not OP and has no fan service? that's so cool haha haven't heard of any isekai that doesn't have at least ONE of those tropes. and having parents on the story could make it so much richer too! lmk the title if you do publish it somewhere! I'd love to read it
@@JyunaYT having parents can help build a greater since of plot/story and adds more interesting moments, so also adds wholesome moment with the parents, teaching the MC about the world and how to magic, but only a little bit. I totally agree with your points!! it's more realistic and ads dimension to the story! and yeah totally, sometimes publishing something you do for fun kinda ruins it, but it could also be fun to talk about it with your readers some day! seems like you can write a great story so please let me know if you ever publish anything! :D
@@JyunaYT thank you I forgot to mention that theres swords, magic and guns, cause theres hardly any fantasy/medieval with guns at all And not like 21 century guns, more like 1900-1940 guns like world war 1-2 era, and theres hardly any guns/ammo to support everyone And magic has two power systems "power and control" power includes firepower or how potent the attack/spell and control is how well you can control the spell like direction and maintenance Swords basically like one handed, two handed, maces and other blades/blunts and all other weapons. Theres also curse weaponry that offer special powers exchange for a drawback like getting hungry easily to your life force being slowly drained, this also includes forbidden arts and demonic firearms and all other things scattered around the world
@gameby41 sounds really interesting!! I really do wish I saw some guns in isekai anime loll would solve a ton of issues quite quickly haha power/control system sounds neat too!! Sounds like you’ve built quite a complex world already
The first one is inevitable tbh, almost every anime has more than one character who has a high pitched voice unless you watch some manly anime like Baki. A petite woman with a high pitched voice is considered beauty standard in Japan, but in the west it may be seen as cringe and for weirdos. That's one of the main reasons why anime is only targeted to the Japanese audience. I don't know if the title of the video is over-exagerated because of my autistic ass, but if you can't stand women with high pitched voices, then you have it difficult to watch anime (No offense here, I'm just sharing my point of view).
The one I hate is where there's this ordinary guy who literally does NOTHING and somehow has like 7 girls swooning over him. The author makes the MC guy super relatable and like a self-insert for incels. And ofc the Incels would consume ts every time. At least give him some personality instead of him panicking every time he's talking to a girl. (Prime example of this is kazuya ifykyk) If anyone is disagreeing with me maybe you're an incel too so :D
Yeah, that trope is a red flag for me. Only exception is Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-Chan, because said guy's real strength in that show is being a masochist.
I wanna see a character who has anti plot armor. Like protagonist is about to activate the power of friendship and the villian’s anti plot armor kicks in and he just decks the protagonist
I remember this happening it was really cool and the anime itself was really funny but the problem with this trope is well the problem is the main character as you know will just live and then usually proceeds to beat them later like 4 episodes latter it's so annoying and you know the main character won't die so it's really hard for them to fill that as they just make some plot excuse for the protagonist to just win some way
I haven't watched enough anime to know how common the dead parents trope is, but if there's one that has a believable effect on someone, it's Vinland saga.
@@JyunaYT oh yeah there is also the stupid trope of the character who says don't like do things but does it while talking for example they say not to look at the girl locker but is walking there or has done it or the other one that's to common is a character for some reason just repeats what's said back to them as there only dialogue pretty much its common enough it might as well be a trope oversexualization of female characters with their chest short skirts etc I don't know if this is still common but like girl characters who are just made to be just uh sorry to put it rudely house wifes in fighting animes or like there just someone the main character has to go out of their way to protect these girls is just boring plot lines sorry if they might not be tropes but they really annoy me
My favorite implementation of the "dead parents" trope is Sora from Kingdom Hearts. His parents canonically exist - his mom even gets one whole voice line in the first game - but then we just leave on our adventure and never even think about them again. By all accounts, they're out there SOMEWHERE... it's just that nobody cares about them.
In romance anime, there's always the main male character "coincidentally" falling on top of her female interest or vice versa. Sometimes they repeat this annoying sequence in more than one episode.
@user-fz8jq5tf8p not everyone kira got a very terrible injury he lost an arm and a huge chunk of flesh but mayuri gave him a new arm and filled the space with metal bars to hold his body up he also seems edgier ,shunsui lost an eye and yama lost an arm
They should make an anime where the mc is aware of all these tropes like for the one with the high-pitched voice the mc can just start dunking on the high-pitched anime girl for the voice
Hi Jyuna, please don't stop with the videos as they help me study English. mainly because you speak more calmly and clearly than the others, which helps me in the end. Thank you

If characters had present parents, the writers would have to write about them. It’s also why Disney and other western media do the same. Killing off parents means you can focus solely on the actual characters.
Anime parents are usually dead unless the series started in 1999, because then instead you have the "Bye son, I'm gonna be off-screen and do absolutely nothing until the very very end" trope.

People have referred to it as "the b*tch slap". Happens a lot more when a girl does it to a guy than when a guy does it to a girl (which is pretty much never) or when a girl does it to another girl (which is very rare but does happen at times).
i hate it

In Romance Anime The Couple usually Gets into the most….
BRUH SO TRUE!! if anyone in real life bumped into someone of the opposite sex and got into a weird sexual position (which is already VERY UNLIKELY to happen without someone getting a concussion), I'm SURE they wouldn't be able to look at each other in the face the next day from embarrassment lmaoo

About the dead parents: the only anime I ever watched (and the one that caused me to start learning Japanese) also has the main character's mother die, but in that case it actually affects her. I think it's to highlight the fact that people can change I think the real problem is not facing the repercussions of their actions
This is called redemption, something very popular in fiction in general, and not just in anime or Eastern media.
It's the idea of compassion that "anyone" can change regardless of what they've done. Which is not wrong in part, it just has to be well constructed redemption, punishment for what the character did, and so on.
@@cauanzg5193 It is a good trope if used correctly. Like if the former villain has to earn respect and learn from his past mistakes.
Redemption if its written well is good like John Marston and Arthur Morgan but in animes the former villain redeems themselves and then forgot everything they done and nobody within their world mention it
0:20 "Who the hell talks like that? "
You, girl
No she doesn't bro💀 the difference between her voice and an anime girl is very big and I can tell
she doesn’t speak in a high pitched voice like she’s describing, she’s talking in a softer voice. know the difference
Loli is the worst trope
I can't argue with that
@@Notabear6810 at some point, people need to start making appeals to stop the production of loli. Even if the minor was fictitious, no excuse can be made in its defense because it gets some impressionable people to believe that loli is okay.
@@ethankaryadi37 Sorry but if they are impressionnable that their problem, not the other or author problem. That the same comment about "game make people violent or other" no. A grow adult is responsible of himself. That not to other to adapt all media, stories and games for some impressionable people. We won't make everything in the world pegi 3 only just because some can't separate fiction and reality and will potentialy consider it normal. We are not the parent of impressionable people. That not the responsability of other to take the burden of their own inaptitudes.
The problem with lolis is not the loli part is that you know that japan has a problem with ummm peole liking other people that look like lolis...so they end up just been cummer bait and I hate it,the only good ones are the ones that you know arent cummer bating they are what the word is suppost to mean, aka female child, like the one in spy × family (I forgot her name,I am high in meds ok)
@@aelitastone5629 exactly man just cuz I edge to the lollies doesn't mean I'm gonna edge to a literal child what in the actual f? I got a Lil bro and distant a lil sis you're telling me liking lollies is gonna make me view them in that way? Hell nah dude I'm their teacher in a way not a pred, and what about all the woman that just look small but aren't? A little bit of discrimination going on there, if that's the case then ban them FPS games cuz eventually someone's gonna think "ooh guns are fun" and have an actual battle royale on the school field
The objective worst trope is the annoying side character they are absolute doodoo and ruin the scene just by being there, zenitsu is a good example (until infinity castle atleast)
Edit: I'm not an edger.
Demon slayer spoiler alert
Demon slayer also has a very good way of having the characters mourn over the death of others.
A few anime tropes i have seen very often that completely RUIN the anime for me (mainly isekai/fantasy)
The mary sue/gary stu, in this case is where they are the most perfect being in every aspect and are very OP and untouchable, they are liked by everyone and can solo every fight (yes im looking you isekai male MC's)
So i went ahead and a wrote a well written MC that doesnt involve being OP, having a harem and no fan service.
We have a male 23 year old college student living with his girlfriend, both loving parents and a few friends.
The MC dies and is reborn in a modern fantasy world with again both parents this time (im tired of parentless tropes), he doesnt have any cheat system or OP ability, but rather he gets stronger by improving and adapting overtime, he losses and thats the point, he meant to loose most fights so he can bounce back and get better, he uses his keen perception and IQ to evade situation he doesnt want to get stuck and be able to outsmart most characters.
yoooo i totally forgot mary/gary sues!! they're so annoying as if they don't have any character or human flaws wth
and you're writing an isekai MC with no harem, is not OP and has no fan service? that's so cool haha haven't heard of any isekai that doesn't have at least ONE of those tropes. and having parents on the story could make it so much richer too!
lmk the title if you do publish it somewhere! I'd love to read it
@@JyunaYT having parents can help build a greater since of plot/story and adds more interesting moments, so also adds wholesome moment with the parents, teaching the MC about the world and how to magic, but only a little bit.
And i wanted to have a MC that knows what there doing and takes advantage of most situation to gain the upper hand, like he know he cant strong arm most fights and needs his new friends to help win the most, his friend can even win the fight for him
Also this was a simple and short summary of what a GOOD MC is meant to be like, i dont where i can publish my story as this is intended for fun.
I totally agree with your points!! it's more realistic and ads dimension to the story! and yeah totally, sometimes publishing something you do for fun kinda ruins it, but it could also be fun to talk about it with your readers some day! seems like you can write a great story so please let me know if you ever publish anything! :D
@@JyunaYT thank you
I forgot to mention that theres swords, magic and guns, cause theres hardly any fantasy/medieval with guns at all
And not like 21 century guns, more like 1900-1940 guns like world war 1-2 era, and theres hardly any guns/ammo to support everyone
And magic has two power systems "power and control" power includes firepower or how potent the attack/spell and control is how well you can control the spell like direction and maintenance
Swords basically like one handed, two handed, maces and other blades/blunts and all other weapons.
1:40 “my body won’t move anymore, but I must push my limits!” Is the classic 😭 💀
(Prime example of this is kazuya ifykyk)
If anyone is disagreeing with me maybe you're an incel too so :D
Yeah, that trope is a red flag for me. Only exception is Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-Chan, because said guy's real strength in that show is being a masochist.
What's an incel?
(its not an anime but a game but) *ehem ehem* yandere simulator *ehem ehem*
I wanna see a character who has anti plot armor. Like protagonist is about to activate the power of friendship and the villian’s anti plot armor kicks in and he just decks the protagonist
lolll that would be so funny to watch
I remember this happening it was really cool and the anime itself was really funny but the problem with this trope is well the problem is the main character as you know will just live and then usually proceeds to beat them later like 4 episodes latter it's so annoying and you know the main character won't die so it's really hard for them to fill that as they just make some plot excuse for the protagonist to just win some way
Sukuna
Literally jjk
@@P.H691 just watch jjk the villains kinda got the power of friendship
I haven't watched enough anime to know how common the dead parents trope is, but if there's one that has a believable effect on someone, it's Vinland saga.
pleaseee make a part 2, i love this so much
Thank you!!! I'll make sure to make a pt 2 if people like this one!! 💚💚
@@JyunaYT oh yeah there is also the stupid trope of the character who says don't like do things but does it while talking for example they say not to look at the girl locker but is walking there or has done it or the
other one that's to common is a character for some reason just repeats what's said back to them as there only dialogue pretty much its common enough it might as well be a trope
oversexualization of female characters with their chest short skirts etc
I don't know if this is still common but like girl characters who are just made to be just uh sorry to put it rudely house wifes in fighting animes or like there just someone the main character has to go out of their way to protect these girls is just boring plot lines
sorry if they might not be tropes but they really annoy me
My favorite implementation of the "dead parents" trope is Sora from Kingdom Hearts. His parents canonically exist - his mom even gets one whole voice line in the first game - but then we just leave on our adventure and never even think about them again.
By all accounts, they're out there SOMEWHERE... it's just that nobody cares about them.
2:41 tbh I wish jjk has this trope with gojo/j
It had it too much
Same...
It had it against toji, not against sukuna probably because the cut was too fast idk
In romance anime, there's always the main male character "coincidentally" falling on top of her female interest or vice versa. Sometimes they repeat this annoying sequence in more than one episode.
Bleach had a bunch of fatal injuries and in TYBW everyone just regenerated
i love how shonen mcs magically heal anything after being in a coma for 3 days loll
@user-fz8jq5tf8p not everyone kira got a very terrible injury he lost an arm and a huge chunk of flesh but mayuri gave him a new arm and filled the space with metal bars to hold his body up he also seems edgier ,shunsui lost an eye and yama lost an arm
They should make an anime where the mc is aware of all these tropes
like for the one with the high-pitched voice the mc can just start dunking on the high-pitched anime girl for the voice
0:28 the voice actress: 😢
2:06 "protagonists should fight with 60 broken bones" so true
Hi Jyuna, please don't stop with the videos as they help me study English. mainly because you speak more calmly and clearly than the others, which helps me in the end. Thank you
4:06 ichigo atleast i have father
Luffy: i have parents?
2:32 "Yep, Im alive and kicking!!!" -gojo on drugs
5:01 jojo character gets fatally wounded and there’s yellow clouds
Death flags is gonna appear a lot, buuuut it’s interesting to see anime have a character with the BIGGEST death flag and they ACTUALLY survive
dude i bacicly just found the new jaiden, i love ur videos, just got recommend from whoo knows where, keep up the good work!
2:26 In jjk there is such thing as rct known as reverse curse technique that allows the user that is capable of using positive energy that can be used to heal themselves or sometime other people
If characters had present parents, the writers would have to write about them. It’s also why Disney and other western media do the same. Killing off parents means you can focus solely on the actual characters.
i like your voice, very calming and cozy
