Great job. I wanted to ask:" Why not incorporate LED's? When the bag witch has a sensor sewed inside with a specific color, when it lands on the board that color lights up." You're probably wondering how I know, I was asked to build a set (Alabama Crimson Tide boards with bags) for a friend...that was my WOW!! Factor. I'm hoping to see a little more creative engineering out of you. Great job none the less.
@@Chris-ut6eq No. It was a project for a friend whom were "ALABAMA FANS" That was the theme. I also made a cooler stand with the same theme, out of wooden palletts. I think what you're doing is perfect. All I was saying...put a little more of you into it. Make them so different that people can't help but to own a set. Wish you the best of luck, not that you really need it, because you're already there. Have a great day.
I was stunned when I brought out two store bought cornhole boards on the 4th and again Memorial Day. Kids, adults and seniors were playing all afternoon and into the evening. The aluminum sides and particle board is just awful and probably won’t make it through another summer. You How To video and my cousin’s skill with a wood burning kit we can have some nice personalized cornhole boards this year. Any thoughts on filling wood burned letters? (I was gonna get the boards as flat as possible fill the letters with polyurethane of everyone’s name, sand and follow your procedure on poly & sanding)
I watched until I seen the top wasn't lined up with the frame... cut the top a slight big larger and use a flush cut bit to even everything up... box joints are nice too if you have the tools to make them
I don’t understand why you’re putting your port on an angle when you cut your pocket holes? Doesn’t seem like it would grip very well with less threads.
How big are the spacers you used for the legs to drill the hole in the side 2x4? I know you said just a piece of scrap 2x4 to make the spacer but I looked like you used the cut end so not sure what length it needs to be to get the 12” tall
The legs need to be 13” in length and the spacer is 1.5”. I used the side of a 2x4 which is 1.5”. With the hole screwed 1.75” from the side and 1” from the rounded side on the leg it works close enough to 12” tall off the ground
@@rafaeldickens I mean, if they are gonna use true joinery they’ll need a lot more tools and skills that a new DIYer wouldn’t have. Tools are tools and joinery is joinery. Just depends on the route you wanna go🤷🏼
@rafaeldickens you don’t need a jig to drill pocket holes, just makes it easier. All you have to do is drill down straight about 1/4 inch, then leaving the tip of the drill bit in the wood, angle it down. There are videos on TH-cam that can show you what I’m describing
Really impressed with how beautiful these look! Good job and thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much!
Thanks, these videos are great for semi beginners like me!
Awesome, I’m glad you like the video!
Nice work bud...appreciate you sharing the information!
Thanks!

I like the idea! Did you post this anywhere? Would be fun bonus project.

I think getting a table so you are not on your knees all the time but it was a great tutorial.Thankyou
If you're cheap like me, use crystal clear enamel spray and buff that boy smooth as eggs. Slides very nice for under 10 bucks.
I’ll have to try that! Boards get worn out over the years firbsure
Good job
Thank you!

Yeah, handmade things always tend to last longer than manufacture things made in bulk
Currently making my own boards, what kind of poly did you use? All the water base poly I’ve found was for interior not exterior
The pocket holes every 6 to 8 inches, what size screw/bolt are you putting in?
Got the Poclef hole screws I believe I used 1/1/4 inch so that it would not go through the top
Good work my dude
Thank you!
Great job!
Thanks!
What size is that scrap piece of wood used for the legs? That way I know the offset so that the board sits flush with the ground
It’s the side of a 2x4 so 1.5”
12” at 30 degrees.
@@greattbuildsjudging by the video I’d say it’s less than 1.5 he has the scrap chunk of 2x4 turned. Looks to be less than an inch even.
Nice work! What depth is your pocket hole jig set to for 3/4" plywood?
Honestly just did whatever my pockethole jig is set to. Haven’t ever adjusted it
Can you do a build on planters or a raised bed for gardens?
Yes I can! Check my IG I’ve made many already just haven’t make a video
@@greattbuilds ok 👍 where’s IG?
@@IzzyEatz my Instagram name is the same as my TH-cam name.
My next video will actually be on plant stands since I’ve got a replace the ones I’ve already built.
What was your overall cost to make them if you don’t mind me asking? And thanks for the video
Pretty sure less than $100
I think getting a table so you are not on your knees all the time but it was a great tutorial.
How long were the pocket hole screws that you used?
1 1/4 I think
Used one inch pocket hole screws on my boards, just make sure you use right adjustments on pocket hole jig
1 inch ply and 2x4, these are definitely 2" pocket screws.
Did you have to buy double the amount of materials to build both???
Thank you!

I see one box had a center 2x4 going across and the other box did not ?
Did you use standard plywood?
I don’t understand why you’re putting your port on an angle when you cut your pocket holes? Doesn’t seem like it would grip very well with less threads.
What port are you referring to
😊@@greattbuilds
Did you by any chance made an estimate for the cost of the materials as well?
I believe it was under $100 for both boards!

What are the measurements for the sheets of plywood?
I did 24" x 48"
At what point would we paint? Paint prior to poly? Or after?
Prior
Hi - What size router bit did you use around the hole?
I used a round over bit
excellent video ! Thanks
What depth did you do the pocket holes?
The depth recommended by the Kreg website, Owners Manual and or the back of their screw packages.
Why wouldn’t you stain it first? That way the parts not covered in poly still have protection?
Yes, that is a good idea to stain our paint the base to keep the wood protected.
How large was the center hole?
6 inches
6inch standard size
6 inch
Where do you get that piece to drill pocket holes?
Kreg jig. Available at home improvement stores.
The store.
where are the plans?
The plans are in one of his links, but they are different from what he shows in his video.
Eaither the plywood or the length of 2x4 is wrong on your part bud. I had to go back and cut the 2x4 for the plywood to stay flush😂😢
When you buy 2x4 sheets there aren't actually 2x4 just like the boards there a touch smaller
I watched until pocket holes enter the scene 😑
What would you suggest I do instead of pocket holes?
@@greattbuilds maybe a joining technique a DIY user with basic tools may find simpler.
