Love this amazing video with your superb creative abilities and playing style. Listening from the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee, USA, just as the sun is rising. You produce such beautiful music and like you with the Genos 2, I can't stop praising your talent! Keep up the great work and tips.
Leigh very nice ...lol you definitely avoided the cheese trap everyone else falls into when playing Genos 2. I like the way you are using your musical skills to creatively build improvisations. This is melodic symphonic prog if we want to pin it to a genre. Bands like Neal Morse, Magenta and Kompendium play this stuff and I love it. Mainstream rock ballads then started using the same technique pioneered by the melodic symphonic progressive rock musician's. At one point I thought you were going to go full Neal Morse playing that rock guitar solo over a rock ballad style, while the multipad melody playing a duet with your solo, and shower us with a waterfall of melodic notes :) I saw one person using the multipads to add strumming guitar to any style. There are lots of different strumming variations stored in the multipad section. If you load one up and start playing any style, just hit the mutipad button to bring in another musician strumming an acoustic guitar to accompany you. You can bring him in and out at will and it always stays in sync with the style. I think there are 4 multipads so you can bring in 4 different musicians at any point each playing a different instrument. I imagine you can drastically change the sound of a style with layered multipads to pull it away from the song it is hard locked to. The permutations are endless. Unleash your creativity :)
Yes, this is one of my favorite way to use Multi Pads. I use this “trick” also for backing voices while soloing, but for the first time I was shocked by complexity and music euphoria while I had been recording the whole MIDI song. It was a pure pleasure even while recording. I like to mute piano/e.piano part and play piano style in this way. All keyboard to myself 😅 Best regards from Poland! 🇵🇱
Obviously thats a different level of musisianship where you kneed to apply the accompaniament piano rhythm patterns in an artful meaningful way, or lead your guitar voice in an contrasting way, it takes knowledge and skills way beyond a regular arrangement keybord user, but it makes the whole arragement shine. Can the exact same strategy be employed in Genos1?
Got to try it tomorrow, awesome, as a guitar player for almost 40 years I love improvising. Can I add multiple layers like that ? if yes how ? big thanks for all
The pads allow you to retrigger whenever you want. And you can play a verse and chorus. Song player also doesn’t sync with the style. There’s always one with a better idea LOL
Gloomy day in Seaford Sussex (near the Cuckmere Valley National Park) thanks for all your hard work on demonstrating this amazing keyboard.

Glad I could help!

The Kenny G voice is from Genos club. You can go to www.patreon.com/genosclub as a member you can download this voice.

Yes it can. And also smaller models that have multi pads
Which is the Top Gun style Leigh? Love it!

Yamaha job interviewer: Can you make an acoustic instrument sound real?

the word f-ck is dirty!
@@matthewmeno5279 That's why I only say "fuck" in the shower.
Do you have the keyboard without the style set up, (piano set up) when using this system.😊
@@micksayers1 yes just turn off the accomp button on the left hand side of the instrument (orange)
@@LeighWilbraham thankyou for your wonderful video’s Leigh 🌹🌹
Could I create a phrase in the same way and then trigger it from my foot switch?
Yes you can activate a multipad with your foot switch
Could this method be used to create intro for a song?
Yes it could
I would love to see your tutorials showing how to create intros. Hope you will have time in the future to do it.
Maybe in the future!
Alternatively, record it as a song ( also recording the left hand.) You now have both hands free 😉😉
The pads allow you to retrigger whenever you want. And you can play a verse and chorus. Song player also doesn’t sync with the style.
