Check engine or no check engine, but what about carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon readings? I am not sure that even Saab B20x and B23x engines could pass emissions test (in Estonia at least) and they are very clean running engines.
I think a lot of emissions laws are crap. In the early '90's while living in California, I had a friend who worked at an emissions shop. Just for kicks we ran a bunch of tests one night, with emissions equipment, and without. This shop had a dyno and did load test emissions. We tested a 1990 Ford F250 with the 460 cu. in. big block, a 1988 Toyota Celica, and a 1993 Mitsubishi 3000 GT. As expected, the removal of all the emissions equipment produced a noticeable gain in horsepower and torque in all vehicles. Unexpectedly, they also produced cleaner tailpipe emissions under load with the emissions equipment removed. May not be the case all the time, but that is what we experienced.

Now what if you car is tuned will this device make my car run funny because now the o2 sensor isn’t reading right or dose it read the same back pressure and all that just test for how clean or how much carbon is coming out
No. In his state they basically go of the OBD2 codes. If all the readiness monitors are set and there are no codes it is assumed that everything is working as intended emission wise. However, in places were they do an actual exhaust gas analysis and visual inspection it will fail and often result in a massive fee or potentially even confiscation of the vehicle in some countries.
Auto Autopsy well I want to take the catalytic converter right off and fabricate a down pipe and straight pipe it I have a 2010 Chevy impala right now I have everything chopped off right behind the converter and there was no sensor right there
Here’s some useful info.. the 2 sensors are called pre cat and post cat. The ecu takes both readings. To see how efficient the cat is. Iv got a quick question my first cat is on the header pipe it's self with 3 sensors if I'm not mistaken and one further down maybe close to the flex pipe so would I need to use more than of the Fowler's ?
If your car has two manifolds one on each side yes you put it after your cats
Hey I live in Arizona too. Is a catless downpipe illégal? I’ve been wanting one for my MK5 Jetta
Depends on county. In Maricopa County we have emissions, so yes
So it’s illegal but it shouldn’t be a problem as long as you don’t get caught and you don’t have a CEL light. Have you had any issues with no cats so far? Maricopa doesn’t do smog just check CEL right?
No issues, but I haven't had to do emissions yet
@@AutoAutopsy how about now
Modifying or removing any emissions equipment is illegal no matter if your area tests or not.
I have a BMW 328i 2007 and cats are bad, I live in california and I was wondering if my car would pass the smog check with this ?
Im not sure; depends on if they do a smell test or not
I'll lyk next week😂🥴....
I put one on my 2007 impala straight pipe and it says heater circuit malfunction
that sounds unrelated, but im not familiar with that car
I still get the check emission system on my dashboard :( it didn't actually work
I live in az with a 1986 bmw 325 n it has no catalytic converter can I use this? Or no
should be able to, assuming the threading is the same
theres no emission test for cars 25+ years old lmaooo
The Snerk I had to for some reason. Because it wasnt registered in Arizona, so I had to go get emissions done in order to get it registered, but I also could of passed it by getting special insurance and I had to be 18 which I wasn’t at the time so long story short car didn’t pass emissions and I couldn’t get it registered.
Where'd you buy that
amazon
I am not a Saab fan in the least, I like the channel anyway and watch all your videos. I took the poll to continue with what ever mixed content you produce.
Thank you man! I appreciate it
I gutted my catalytic converter im not sure if i should get header or just a defouler plus my check engine light is on.
You just answered your own question….
Can this work on a diesel Isuzu truck?
bruh i don't know
Good luc not avail for purchase in California
so i have no cat on my car but i want to keep that deep tone on my car that the headers are giving me is there anyway to do that because it smells like hella gas but i’m also scared of getting carbon monoxide poisoning help me please
i'd probably talk to an exhaust shop near you
hey man, i have 4 cats, lower and upper and i replaced the lower ones to not have any but still have upper, will my car pass?
if you don't have a CEL i assume it's fine
Auto Autopsy whats a CEL
@@thetexaspilot check Engine light. Usually a yellow light on dashboard or screen
Should the defouler be removed after passing?
I mean, if you want a check engine light, sure. I don’t see why you would
So they don't measure any exhaust gas just check the OBD monitor?
depends on where you live
I used these last year with no problem but now I can't get the monitor checks to complete no matter how much I drive it (16 f150 5.0l with aftermarket headers exhaust and cats)
On my 2001 Mitsubishi eclipse gt 3.0 i put the cat on the back pipe check engine light is off but scanner its throwing me a code will it pass emission test?
won't pass with a CEL
The defouler cannot be found where you said.
its NLA from that link
Will these work on a 04 Mustang GT?
Following
Yes
anyone have a cel light come on after installing this? asking for an 00 mustang gt. also which flow insert did you put in?
Should work on basically every car just fools your system in to thinking it’s working right
Now what if you car is tuned will this device make my car run funny because now the o2 sensor isn’t reading right or dose it read the same back pressure and all that just test for how clean or how much carbon is coming out
Work for 5.7 hemi?
Yes sir
i don't know lmao
Web error “Product not Found” Through link
would it pass a uk emissions test where they stick the sensor up the tailpipe?
I’m not sure honestly
Other Saab content would be great including diesel
We don't have diesels in the states
What states do you live in??? I got a Cummins. We most definitely do have diesel's in the USA
@@aceforever001 diesel saabs lol!
how to pass emission, you pass the lady doing the inspection $50 💀
Hey your links no longer work on def..
Sorry, must be NLA.
Didn't work for me. Tried all three inserts. 2009 Tundra cat delete, True dual exhaust with H pipe.
Will this work with corvettes
Should work with any car, to mu knowledge
Do you have a vette and did you try it??
So do I need to buy 2 cause my car has 2 o2 sensors
it's needed for whatever o2 sensor comes after the catalytic converter
Auto Autopsy well I want to take the catalytic converter right off and fabricate a down pipe and straight pipe it I have a 2010 Chevy impala right now I have everything chopped off right behind the converter and there was no sensor right there
Here’s some useful info.. the 2 sensors are called pre cat and post cat. The ecu takes both readings. To see how efficient the cat is. If both sensors get the same reading then it knows that the cat is not working... so this device would go after the cat to trick the ecu to think that the emissions after the cat are cleaner than before it
@@AutoAutopsy Would it work for the O2 sensor before the Cat? I have 2 sensors on my bronco someone already deleted the rear o2 but the front 2 are reading bad. I just want to eliminate them and be done. Is that possible?
Would it work on an 04 vw jetta gls 2.0?
Yo I’m literally here to see if it’ll work in an 05 mk4 gti
i would assume so, depends on threading
Did you ever end up trying it. I have the same problem for the same exact car
Wait What? How does your exhaust actually remove the carbon monoxide and NOX without a cat though? Doesn't this show up on the emissions tests?
You missed the entire point of this video lol
So with an OBD1 car where I live they don’t do a plug in, they do a smell test. How would I pass that
i'd ask people locally, i don't know.
Pass them a 20 and pray to god
State of IL do not test emissions on OBD1 vehicles 95 an older
@BigSexe
.
California smog visual inspection fail as tamper bung install on o2 sensor.
Lame
Yeah California is different than any other state
My catalytic converter got stolen do I have to replace it? 2011 Honda element
yes lol
Sell it fast!! Cats are pricey af
Would this help a car not run rich after buying a catless header
Sounds like that’s a tuning issue
@@AutoAutopsy I haven’t gotten a header yet. I just saw forms on the car that it makes the car run rich
Will it still work and not mess up your engine?
it shouldn't
Is it possible to need more than one of these?? I think my car needs 4!?
you'll have more than 1 02 sensor most likely (mine has 2), but you won't need this for all 4
Only need them after the cat
Auto Autopsy still won’t pass CARB right?
Aye I cut one side of my catalytic converter so that it's loud. You think I can still pass emissions? I have no check engine light because I did it right
Lol, i don't know if there's a "right" way to cut your cat; depends on where you live and what inspections are like there.
@@AutoAutopsy well, I mean I had a buddy cut it so it hangs but also so the o2 sensor doesn't go off. Not familiar with this sort of stuff so thought I'd ask
I did that and it worked but when I go pass 6k rpm than I get a check Engine light any idea why
check what code you're getting and go from there...
