- The Biosynthesis of ethylene starts with the amino acid methionine which runs through a cycle called Methionine or Yang Cycle. The Methionine is first converted to Ado Met , which is further converted to ACC and finally the ACC is oxidised to Ethylene by the action of ACC oxidase.
